Scarlet pov.
"Aurora.. Aurora.. Caleb.." a gust of wind filled the room and she walked towards me.
"I want you to find out who this girl is before dawn." I moved my hands in the air and the image of the lusty girl formed in the air again.
Aurora raised a brow as she looked at the girl and then at me.
"If you need partners, I have better choices. This girl looked too imitated, she shook her head and my eyes narrowed.
"Your sense of humor is getting damaged everyday! Anyway, who is she anyway?" She went closer to the image and tried to observe the actions of the girl more.
"She is our new guest. She would arrive in the palace in the morning and she would live with us for an uncertain period." she looked at me as if waiting for me to laugh it off. I have never entertained guests for a night.
No matter what the reason was, and who has come to meet me. I have always asked them to leave before night.
"Why, who is she?" This time she was more curious and serious while listening to me.
"She is the deal of getting my everything back. I have a deal with his majesty." her eyes widened as she looked at me with shock filled eyes and then at the image.
"Then let her come, take the properties and once everything settled down we would kill her." I sighed and shook my head at her statement.
"She could not be killed, that was the deal." I replied , making her frown but then I added "But she can be accused of treason, she can be forced to leave the palace on her own accord. But for that, we need to know who she is and what her motto is to come here. Why is she helping his majesty? I want to know everything about her. I even want to know how and when she took a breath. You have all the resources for the emergency period." her eyes widened again and she gulped yet nodded.
"I will try my best, my lady." I nodded at her sincere voice as she left but then turned.
"Who will be your aide in my absence. I heard that even Caleb is leaving for some personal work and you have already accepted his leave for a month or so!" 'If only I could tell her that Caleb was not going for personal work but he was going to get more information about that kid, Evans.' but it would not have affected her concerns, would it?
"Do not worry. I have already asked a staff member to replace Caleb. And I am sure you will return soon. Won't you?" She looked at me, hesitated but then nodded.
"Then I shall take my leave, my lady." she turned and did a somersault in the air. Flipped back and jumped out of the window.
"We still have doors." I added as her shadow left the room.
"You called me, my lady!" came the concerned voce from the door.
"Come in, Caleb." The man walked in with a face as if he had lost everything.
"What happened?" I asked in a sharp voice.
"A thick layer of mana was found around the carriage. I think a mage has followed you." my face turned grim at his reply. So, I was right!
When I decided to tell the truth to Evans, I felt a strong stench in the air and then the rustling of trees. My sixth sense was telling me that it was all a trap and thank goodness I kept my silence.
But how did the man know that Evans was going to come with me? No! It could not be when I didn't even notice who the coachman was until he opened the door for me in the palace.
But then I was not a strong mage. No one knows in the empire that I have inherited the powers of my mother, I was of no use to him.
"It is all because of your foolishness. Didn't I say that Evans is being chased by the apprentice of mage tower yet you sent him with me in the liar of mages. There was such a thick stanch of mages that I had to take him inside the palace with me to keep him safe. How could you be so irresponsible?" I snarled in a sharp voice and he shivered.
"I apologise, your highness. I have asked Jasmine to call the other coachman. There must be some confusion." he added and I frowned.
"Who is jasmine?" have we hired new staff or i was forgetting someone.
"She is the sister of Murid. You have offered her money but she decided to work for you instead. So, I have given her the task of managing the staff. It has helped in lessening the burden of Aurora." Murid! I closed my eyes as the name passed my ears.
"Then let the matter rest. But next time check everything personally. This was your responsibility, not hers.'' He was surprised with my easy attitude toward the girl, but I was still guilt ridden and it was not like she knew anything.
"Yes, my lady."
"When are you leaving?" I asked back as he stood there silently.
"In an hour or two. I have assigned my brother Liam, he will be here in the morning." he replied as he stood up while I shook my head.
"I do not need their service. Ask him to look after your official work, that would be more than enough." he frowned as he looked back at me.
"Then who will serve you, my lady!" He was looking like a mother leaving her daughter alone in the territory of the enemy. thank goodness he did not know that Aurora left too or else he would have gone berserk listening to my reply.
"Evans will serve me from now on for all my work."
