Calm Before The Storm

I really hated the heroine, Olivia. Indeed, that's the right term, hated. She was always an atypical damsel type heroine in the early [Acts]. A protagonist that never tries to fend for herself against hostile or envious individuals. But then looking back from my memories she wouldn't have expecteded to need such skill. The respecting kind girl grew up from a commoners background but has two caring parents by her side and a loving, peaceful community.

I guess I hated her because of how much she's getting help from the world. 'Unlike myself...'

"Marie! Are you alright?" My new friend, the heroine in question, asked innocently blinking.

I said "Yup" with the 'P' sound popped, "Just thinking about what else to add." I looked at her before shifting to a drawn image of a girl with drill curls part of her hair style and flipped to another empty page.

I'm at the library once more. This time with Olivia and studying or doing a quarter of an hour ago. Later on I got bored and started to scribble back to my notebook.

I didn't hide it hence the blonde with me saw it almost instantly. She was captivated by the grey sketched works giving genuine praises.

How do I know that they aren't half hearted words? An actress with 500 years of experience that's how. So my heart feels heavier with shane knowing I hated someone out of jealousy. But it diminished after remembering such feelings are useless to have.

Back to the empty page, "Olivia, do you have any suggestions? I really couldn't come up with one now" That's a lie. The next ones are inside my ol' noggin but I'd prefer a friend to give me their opinion. Because... she's my first one!

Yeah, this reincarnate, containing two full memories of sinners, almost broke her rules for her first friend. But Marie doesn't know that she felt that way. Getting a new friend really holds significant value in the girl's heterochromatic eyes.

"Um," Olivia hummed, thinking an idea while I find her pose adorable, 'It's as if I'm looking at a bunny.' a blissful image I conjured.

The heroine's pose vanished as she let out an "Ah" sound of realisation and turned to me looking shy-er, "How about you make a drawing of a chef?"

"A chef?" Marie blurts while mentally having multitudes of characters that fit the bill. It would be nice to take off one of those individuals from that category as she has yet to touch one. This could be the start.

And a start it is. "Sure. Any specific details? Like a girl, boy, old, young, detailed." The reincarnated girl paused and added, "forget the detailed part that's a bit more time consuming than I thought. The four descriptions, you can tell me your pick and other ones you can come up with."

"Young and mature would be a good part of their character." Olivia comments earning her a nod from myself, "I can work with that."

I stated as I flipped to other pages containing various female body poses.

Including some rather daring ones too if the "O-oh."Olivia stammers was any indicator of what I mean. 'Just pretend to be calm and act as if the seductive looking models weren't anything... distracting.' I then flipped back to the previous page.

Thankfully the subject I feared never got mentioned by Olivia and we continue a friendly chat that doesn't tickle the rules of the library. It's nice.

....

'This is nice' Olivia hummed mentally as she talked with Marie. It was unexpected that the first person she interacted with comfortably was one that stood out like royalty.

Unlike the rest of the students, Olivia is a commoner who enrolled at Holfort Academy. So today she was very nervous to get along with the other students as they were of higher status than her. She expected that it would take a while to have company in her school life but it didn't.

All it took was a few chatters and an attack on royalty, she ended up gaining a friend, who's with her in the library. Olivia suddenly stiffens, 'I...I slapped royalty!'

20 minutes of peaceful comfort breaks for Olivia. Being a commoner, she fears that she may be expelled for the extreme offense that she's committed. A prince. She slapped a prince!

"Oh lord, I slapped a prince." She uttered to be heard by only her friend, who snorted.

"Yeah what you did was beautiful."

"Eh" Olivia could see the purest smile coming from Marie and it was truly a disturbing, paired with innocent sounding words.

"Look, as I've mentioned before you can't exactly undo what you did. So it's best that you look back and understand you did it out of impulse..." Olivia fails to hear Marie mumble the last words, "how about apologizing to the prince?"

The blonde wasn't sure but she could've sworn she heard something crack after Marie's suggestion.

She ignored it as she must've heard wrong, "But how would I do that?Prince Julius might end up wanting to demand my head! Or say something like "You dare stain me. For that you're guilty and to be sentenced to exile!""

Olivia acted out her imaginary scenario due to getting carried away. Jumping up from her seat, doing gestures along her performance. Then acting flustered as soon as it ended, "Y-yeah like that..." The more she tried to calm down her mind became more embarrassed and went back to her seat, hoping no remark occurs.

'Please don't ask about it. Please don't ask about it. Please don't ask about it. Please don't ask about it. Please don't ask about it. Please don't ask about it Please don't ask about it. Please don't ask about it Please don't ask about it. Please don't ask about it Please don't ask about it. Please don't ask about it further.'

Hoping indeed but her mental prayer chant was ignored in the form of Marie looking somewhere else. This confused her and before she could ask, her friend spoke.

"Um we got company." The blonde inferred the worse as she turned to see another female student. Like herself, she has golden hair but tied neatly and her eyes were a piercing shade of red.

"I'm sorry if I'm disturbing anything but I overheard your conversation regarding his highness."

"What of it?" She turned to her friend with pale look wondering if this time in the afternoon was about to become her second worst part of the day.
