Thirsty

Angelina Valentine is observing him inside her office, attempting to figure out something about him.

After a minute, she stopped her actions and murmured, "Good. I like you."

Hearing her remarks, he reddened, coughed to calm himself, and replied, "What do you mean by that?" because he does not want to misinterpret her intentions.

"That's the way it is. I like you in the same manner as I like Erica.

"I see so that's how it is."

He sighs in relief, albeit not knowing why.

"Anyways, I heard from your aunt that you had a new communication-type magic instrument. Since this can only be sold in your shop, I intended to have a business conversation with you once you showed me how it works."

"Okay, I understand."

He placed the luggage he was carrying till now on her desk.

Obviously, these are the smartphones he had taken previously.

As always, he demonstrates how his smartphone works and then instructs her.

"Amazing! What a revolutionary instrument!"

She could not help but compliment his products.

'This smartphone is highly versatile. If the information I received is correct, even if I am caught in a formation that cuts my mana, I can still utilize this to ask for assistance. With this, we can even reduce the number of individuals who die each day.'

If Erica Hambell could hear her thoughts right now, she may say, "As expected of her."

Although she is fairly greedy with money due to her family background, she always prioritizes others.

"Before we begin our business conversation, let me introduce myself. I am Angelina Valentine. I am the leader of the May City Guild branch and the daughter of the Valencia Merchant House's current chairman.

He spoke loudly.

Valencia, Fatima and Hollins.

These three companies dominated May City's market.

Hollins Estate Company specializes in houses and buildings.

Fatima Food and Beverages focuses on surprisingly, foods and beverages.

Valencia Merchant House focuses on trade and weapons.

This is one of the reasons why Valencia Merchant House provided the majority of guild leaders for the May City Guild branch.

Having them as a backup ensures that the guild will receive funding for some equipment and weaponry.

Angelina Valentine is regarded for more than just one reason.

As an S-class adventurer, no one wanted to witness her wrath.

In other words, she serves as the city's last line of defense.

Unfortunately, despite this lengthy explanation of her background, Alex Hambell has no idea how big a shot she is, and the reason he repeats her words is because he recalls from most novels he has read that most people are surprised when someone introduces their background.

Anyway, because he can't back down now, he decided to continue his act of knowing what Valencia Merchant House is.

"I-I understand. So, Guild Leader or Mrs. Valentine?"

He meant what he would name her.

"Well, we're in the guild so guild leader and I'm still not married by the way."

"Huh?"

When he hears the final section, he gets an inexplicable expression on his face.

'Does she like younger boys? I don't mind, but I wouldn't be able to deal with the jealously of others, especially men, if she became my girlfriend straight soon.

His narcissism kicks in right away, but he quickly gets out of his mind.

"What is it?"

Angelina Valentine inquired about his appearance.

"Nothing. Let's move on to our business discussion."

He swiftly changed the topic.

"Let's be clear: are you making me an offer or not?"

"I don't mind being in a hurry. Here is my proposal. How about 500 gold coins for a box? I am going to buy a hundred boxes right away."

Hearing her proposition, he wanted to go home and take a hundred boxes of smartphones

Unfortunately, his system insists on the 50-mana stone price.

After all, the system eats mana stones because it requires energy to function.

Unless Angelina Valentine blackmails him into some sort of terrible secret; after all, the marketing world is not clean.

Fortunately, he knows she is a friend of his Aunt, so she will not pass the line where Erica Hambell will despise her.

"I see. If that is the case, I will accept the price of 50 mana stones for 50 boxes. Is this a deal?"

Because her deal was good, he instantly held out her hand, hoping to shake it to seal the transaction.

"That's a deal."

"Anna!"

Angelina Valentine called out this name, and a woman entered the room.

"This is Anna Froze, she is my secretary."

"I am Anna Froze. I'm pleased to meet you.

She introduced herself while bowing.

"The contract?"

"Here it is."

Anna Froze placed three pieces of paper in her desk.

"Read it first before you sign it."

Alex Hambell started reading the contract.

Five minutes later, he completed and signed all of the contracts, and she followed suit.

He seems to be satisfied with the conditions and agreements.

One contract will be left to him, and one to her.

Meanwhile, the third contract will be sent to City Hall to avoid complications.

Anna Froze bid farewell because she needed to bring the third contract to City Hall today.

For some reason, he heard a click from outside.

'Is that my imagination?'

He had a thought.

After she left, Angelina Valentine unexpectedly sat next to him.

He felt weird and moved back to get some space, but she moved with every move he made.

Finally, he gave up and decided to give her an ear.

"Now that the main business is finished, we're gonna do the next."

He had a nasty premonition.

"Which is?"

"Remember when I said I like you there's same way I like Erica?"

"Yeah"

"You see… when we're in your age, we're kinda want to explore so she and I…"

She suddenly made a scissor gesture with her hand.

He understood exactly what she wanted to say right now.

'Wait, she said she likes me like she likes my aunt, which means…'

Angelina Valentine's expression right now is as if she is looking at a delicious meal and drooling slightly.
