After Grendle had quieted Kord down by threatening him to "Not see the glorious masterpiece..." honestly the two were getting me excited. What could be getting two master mecha-mechanics so excited and they wanted to sell it to me!
Grendel led us to a side room away from the assembly lines and giant forges that made the wondrous machines of slugterra.
"I've been working on this for a long time now," he said, walking over to an object that was obscured by a tarp, he yanked it off.
A silver, gold, and white mecha stood bare to the world, it was most reminiscent of the LKE model , with more bulk, making it seem more powerful, than its similar construct. Walking up to the mecha-wolf I reached out but didn't touch it. It was amazing.
"So what do you think?" Kord asked me. "Isn't this the LKE model?" I asked, with a deep chuckle Grendle explained. "Yes it's similar to the LKE, but with a few altered parts," he walked over and started pointing out different parts that were different. "Do you see those claws?" He asked and I nodded "well those are mostly for greater traction, and these…" he kept pointing out small if impressive improvements, a larger energy source, a comfortable seat, slug holders (similar to a mix of shells/cup holders) they were close to the handles making it easy to grab and load a blaster, looking at it I fell in love more and more as it was explained.
"Okay, you've sold it to me, but honestly… I don't think I have the money for it," my head hung while I wanted the new model it was just to perfect there was no way it was in my price range even if I had a few thousand gold. A deep chuckle made me look up in confusion. The heavy hand that landed on my shoulder was Kord's, "Well the reason we wanted to show you this… it's an experimentation with a whole new process of making mecha beasts, and we want you to test it." It dawned on me, I was a Guinea pig! I turned to the giant cave troll and poked him, "I'm just a Guinea pig for you!" He laughed in response. Honestly I wasn't mad about it. Is it dangerous? Sure it is. Am I under the 'dude that would be so cool' influence right now? Most likely, But the advantages that I could gain if this worked out were well worth the risk, sure I might not be in much trouble now, and if I stopped messing with Dr. Black's plans he would leave me alone, but I wouldn't, and I was certain of that. I was smiling at the beautifully crafted design of the mecha, and gave a slight nod. "I would be more than willing to take it and test it, so how does it work?" Both of the trolls had matching grins, "Well if ye hop on we'll give 'er a go," nodding I cautiously climbed on the large frame that was the RB-6, when I jumped on I grabbed the two handles that protruded, from just below the neck, "so how do I start it?" They started walking me through the process.
About thirty minutes later I was outside the forge on the RB-6 next to Kord's giant green warthog, as for the process of riding, and controlling a mecha beast, it was similar to a dirt bike going over a bumpy road just timed and in a rhythm. "Alright!" I said and started up the mecha beast it jolted forward, causing me to almost fall of. Much like Eli I was screaming my head off half in excitement and the other in pure terror. Hearing a laugh coming from beside me I looked as carefully as I could, Kord was waving at me and smiling like a lunatic, "how's it feel to ride a mecha?"
look at comments for the RB-6 not sure what I’m going to name it…
