Aiden
faced a mountain of paper on his table, enough to give anyone a headache. But it wasn't
books and papers piled up there.
It was a stack of love letters, at least 180. He had arrived at school to find this wonderful
scene and junior year was enjoying their classroom being the center of attention. Since
the concert, countless talented girls had fallen in love with the elegant figure playing the
piano.
They had found where his classroom was and crammed love letters into his desk early
that morning. Because there were so many, the drawer was full and they had to pile
them up on top of the desk as well. According to students who had arrived earlier, a few
girls had almost come to blows over the position of their love letters.
In the corridor, a boy with gloomy eyes was quietly watching what was going on in the
classroom. It was Leo Barnes, the monitor for junior year, a gentle boy with white
glasses, who should, by rights, be the most important person in the class. Liaising
between the students and teachers, the monitor should be universally respected.
But this just didn't apply in junior year, where the brightest star by far was Aiden. His
was the name on everyone's lips, and he was the focus of all the teachers' attention. Leo
had felt trapped in the past month.
He had even heard that the class teacher, Mr. Harvey, intended to make Aiden monitor.
With Aiden's growing fame, Leo, who had no sense of security, felt that his position was
unsafe. Damn it! He punched the corridor railing, full of jealousy.
Everyone only knows of Aiden in junior year. They don't know me even though I'm the
monitor. I'm not letting this happen.
I have to find a way to make Aiden disappear. In the classroom, Viola pursed her small
mouth and was sulking in the dark. These shameless girls, sending love letters.
Viola was secretly angry that she had not thought of it herself. Tess and Millie looked at
Aiden with adoration on their faces. It was like being the protagonist of a comic book.
He was so popular. Aiden, if you can't read them all, I'll read some for you, they giggled.
Viola put her hands on Tess' waist and pushed her away, as fierce as a little tigress.
Millie, you get away too. She reached out her hand and swept all the love letters into a
bundle. Looking at the shocked eyes of the crowd, she blushed and said guiltily, I'm just
thinking of Aiden with all this in his way.
As if she was worried that people would not believe her, she immediately added,
besides, the exam is about to start. We can't let these things affect his concentration.
Shocked, the students returned to their seats and nervously looked at the examination
materials.
Today was the first day of exams. They would last for three days, with nine subjects. For
Aiden, they were nothing.
He could get full marks with his eyes closed, but the morning's love letters meant
nothing to him either. If he got full marks in all his exams, that might cause a stir in the
school. But his goal now was to learn in a low-key way, not to get meaningless attention.
Aiden suddenly made a decision. He would deliberately get worse test results.
Under the careful arrangement of Aiden, some
mistakes appeared in his examination papers.
These mistakes were meant to make his examination papers look less perfect. When the
monthly examination was in full swing, a distinguished guest came to the office of Mr.
Turkle. Kathy Fortenberry, one of the members of the Otis High School board, entered
Mr. Turkle's office in silence.
What do we know about Aiden Dale? Ms. Fortenberry asked flatly. Her expressionless
face and cold green eyes made Mr. Turkle shiver. He seems to be from a normal family.
I think they have a little restaurant over on East Street, he said. Mr. Turkle looked at
Aiden's student file. His parents paid his tuition up front, but I think it was tough for
them.
Judging from their appearance, they're not as well off as most of our families. What Mr.
Turkle did not know was that the information in his hands was that of Aiden when he first
entered Otis High. Now more than a month has passed, and Aiden has undergone earth-
shaking changes.
Hmm, he hummed to himself. Aiden's grades were average, and nothing stood out in his
file. Mr. Turkle thought there might be some connection between Aiden and Wiles' family, but wasn't sure.
But perhaps it had been a coincidence that Mr. Wiles took the lead in the talent show's
decision. Ms. Fortenberry said to Mr. Turkle, My nephew has not thought about food and
tea these last few days. He was hit hard by losing his title at the talent show.
I think he's even lost weight. Do you know how to rectify this, Principal? The appointment
and removal of the post of Principal was decided by the school board Mr. Turkle naturally
knew that his career was in the hands of Ms. Fortenberry. But he himself had a bad
impression and was not fond of Aiden, which coincided with Cathy's will.
With a gloomy smile, Mr. Turkle assured her, Don't worry, Ms. Fortenberry. I'm sure I'll
take out this evil spirit for your nephew. Three days later, Aiden completed his first high
school monthly examination.
Compared with other students' uneasiness, Aiden only felt that it was boring. The
monthly examination results would be released in a week. Aiden had decided to relax
and take it easy until the results came out.
The midnight snack restaurant was doing so well that it no longer required as much of
Aiden's time. He began to encourage Olivia to pursue her dreams. After all, she had been
a top student in the Department of Economics and Management at Westfield University.
How could she continue to be a waitress all her life? Over the last few weeks, Olivia had
proven herself to be of strong character and very competent. Knowing her ambitions,
Aiden decided to make her the assistant manager. Olivia could more than handle the
restaurant's business matters, and the new position would help her achieve her dreams
while also giving Aiden some time off.
It was rare for Aiden to have any free time these days. With Olivia taking charge, Aiden
could visit Arthur this weekend. Arthur had invited Aiden over several times, but Aiden
was too occupied to visit.
He could no longer justify excusing himself because of the restaurant. On Saturday night,
Aiden went to Arthur's home with a gift. Most people like to stay away from the noise of
the city, but Arthur's home was even beyond the suburbs.
While the Kay family lived in the northern suburb, the Wiles lived east of the city. Aiden
took a taxi out to Arthur's home. An important commendation meeting was being held in
the Bayside Police Department.
The chief of the police was a tall, handsome young man. This time, if it was not for the
important information and close cooperation provided by the Bayside Police Department,
the FBI would not have been able to wipe out the spy ring. Officer Robert, you have
made great contributions, an agent said.
The young man had a bright smile and was very handsome.
The FBI Comes
to Bayside Officer Sophie, who was quite a spitfire, was behaving like a lady today.
She sat quietly before the stage and looked up at the speaker with deep admiration.
Nathan Harris, director of the National Security Branch of the FBI, grew up in the same
neighborhood as Sophie. But while she joined the police academy, he ran off to be a
soldier.
Director Harris was not an ordinary soldier. He had been part of Special Ops. After
several years of training with Special Ops, he moved over to the National Security
Branch of the FBI, the NSB, as its new director.
The NSB was responsible for dealing with the anti-espionage work of the nation, and
Nathan was the perfect person to lead this important department. Sophie had idolized
Nathan since childhood. Today, when she saw Nathan for the first time in years, Sophie
was very excited.
Director Harris, you flatter me. Officer Roberts said with a shake of his head. This time
the Bayside Police cannot take sole credit.
We had the help of a
