Ultimate Disaster

A long time ago, an entity arrived on the planet Earth from beyond the boundaries of the planet, and went to sleep. The entity was a visitor from the Oort Cloud who arrived at the Earth when he received the future call of Earth for help. And the entity was...

...an Ultimate One of the said cloud.

With the appearance of an androgynous, massive 40 m height, extraterrestrial and crystalline spider, it was a being of greater power and might. One who could end all existence from the surface of the planet. Normally, such a being could not be awakened even by the usage of massive atomic bombing or some other natural disasters, due to a barrier that separated this spider from the world of Humanity.

However, when the said mage, who erected this barrier had bypassed its boundaries, then it was the matter of time for the spider to wake from the sleep it was in. Angry over the one who dared to "attack" it, whether intentionally or unintentionally. The attacker must be given the punishment for a such an act.

"No, nonononono! Why?! Just why?!"

The Wizard Marshall screamed in anger for his unwanted mistake. Though he could oversee the matter happening in a timeline through his True Magic, there was the possibility of this entity rising in every timeline. An inevitable disaster who could only be beaten by the humanity from the future ages. It was this inability to see through the actions of the spider and its resistances towards the True Magic that even made Zelretch to doubt himself.

Yes, he had virtually infinite supply of mana, which at athe end of the day, that could hardly be considered a game changer if the destructivity of his magic was far lower than it should be, to defeat this spider.

"But wait! This is all his fault! It is that abomination whose actions I can't foresee. It lies upon that outsider to exist at the first place..."

While Zelretch was overseeing the realities, he had come across the said monster by accident. But the sheer amount of evil from that undead was the cause of his immediate action.

"If only that abomination...sigh, it's no use to care about it. There is a far greater issue in front of me."

Zelretch stared at the spider from his kaleidoscope, which let him saw through the very fabric of reality. The realm where the agitated spider was crystallize his Bounded Field through its very presence. Sooner or later, the barrier would crack open, and the Wrath of the Ultimate One would fell upon the planet. As its attack power was far greater than anything on the planet, it was a matter of days, or even hours, before this planet would turn into a giant crystal ball.

Only the Interference from something like Gaia and the being equivalent of it, could bring some positive outputs.

True Magic was also a good option, but finding a True Magic user in the middle of awakening would not be a good idea.

Zelretch shooked his and thought about how futile it would be. He needed to finish this being or die trying.

For the greater good of the world, even his sacrifice would suffice.

"It doesn't matter now. I must pay for my action. Thinking about it now, it does feels like I have come to the conclusion too fast. May that skeleton truly has no ulterior motives for us?"

Zelretch sighed and shooked his head. Regretting now, would nor change the outcome now. He had a spider to defeat,.... or being defeated by the spider.

(Scene Change : Ainz POV)

Arriving at the top of the building, from where he was staring on the death battle of Lancer and Saber, Ainz casted another spell around him and waited..., he waited..., just waited...

"Umu, it seems that I have managed to fool that Magus. Finally, I can wish for my return to home..."

Sighing in relief, Ainz stared at the Holy Grail and wondered about how to use the said cup. It was his first time to use a magical device for something that he wasn't sure of. For the lack of better word, he might even do something wrong and bring death and destruction by asking for the wish.

Therefore, he appraised the grail to see its content and the property.

"Umu, the mana of every servant has transformed into a fuel similar to that of XP, and then the holder just needed to request for his wish from the grail. How interesting."

He continued to analyze the entirety of the Grail, leaving nothing to spare anything of importance. Until he came across...

"What?! What's this thing?!"

He saw something that he never thought he would. While scrolling through all the information regarding the Grail, Ainz stumbled upon the presence of a heteromorphic being hidden inside of the grail.

"Angra Mainyu? That sounds like a name for a world item for me. But it looks pretty fragile now. Hmm, this god has lost most of his Divinity and now leeching upon the grail to continue his own existence. May be I can do something about it?..."

Ainz wondered about the ways to take out the said spirit from the grail. As the dark spirit of the evil God was waiting for someone to ask for the wish, thus finalizing his return into the material plan.

"Let me try this. [Divinebane], [Soul Drain], [Mind Drain], [Dominate Undead], ..."

He casted various spells to either absorb the said spirit, weaken its grip upon the Holy Grail, taking away its ability to think, and even weaken its willpower to resist through Dominate Undead. The spirit was no bad in resistance, but at the end of the day, the spirit had nowhere to go. Thus, it ended up being added inside his XP pool.

Ainz felt a sudden rush of lightness that he had never felt before. Not even he could deduce the cause of this. He casted another spell to check his own status.

"[All Check Greater Status]."

This 10th tier spell even showed him the cause of his status effects and the problems hidden beneath his own status. While he was scrolling the list of his stats and classes, there was one thing that attracted his attention.

Karma Level : ??? (World Evil)

If Ainz had eyes, it would have widened like saucers right now.

His karma level, which had never changed into the new world, had atlast showed something unexpected here. The level limiter of karmic graph was only +500 to -500 and anything beyond those integers, was impossible to exist. But after absorbing the said Dark God of Evil, his own karmic limiter broke. At that moment, a thought passed through his mind,

What if this world had no limiter over one's growth?

What if he could break his level limiter here?

While he was thinking at the prospect of becoming the strongest being in this world, the faces of his children came into his mind as well. Feeling ashamed of losing his mind for power, Ainz scolded himself.

Here he was toying with the idea of becoming the strongest entity, and there his family might be searching for him.

"What a fool I am! How can I think of something like this? That sounds too good to be true, but without them. It is all meaningless..."

He also wanted to bring back his friends, but he had moved forward in his unlife. Now the idea of uniting with his friends, didn't sound too attractive to him when compared to the ever loyal NPCs. They would await for his return and he would return to Nazarick.

His one true home in this entire multiverse.

Even if he got all the powers of the multiverse, what there's to be happy about when your own loved ones weren't there for him.

Whether his NPCs looked upon Ainz as a Supreme Being or not, they were now his only family. And his loyalty to be with his family, could never be weighed by the idea of of strength.

"I am coming everyone..."

He spoke with a determined tone and thought about how to pronounce his wish.

He could just wish for his return to Nazarick, but there was always the possibility of him being spirited away to another world. Therefore, he should this as an opportunity to ask for a wish that could save him from the same thing happening again and again.

"Ah, the master of Clocktower is capable of True Magic that deals with the teleportation like True Magic. What was his name? Kisser? Kichhi? Kirisuer? Ughhh, nevermind. "

Dismissing about the name of the person whom he had just met a few minutes ago, Ainz decided to wish for the 2nd True Magic.

The Holy Grail shone, spreading its golden aura all over the one who wished. Only to be dematerialized from the existence, leaving no trace of it ever existing at the first place in the world.

Ainz stood there for a movement, as his metaphysical brain had gone numb, due to the sheer amount of data flowing through him. He felt like a massive weight had been put upon him that was becoming unbearable for Ainz. It was too much. Way too much for him to handle.

He remembered the words of Gilgamesh and the test of his conviction to fulfill his dream. From the bottom of his nonexistent heart, Ainz felt thankful towards Gilgamesh for testing him. The pain that he felt through his Enuma Elish was letting him to endure the current pain of being pushed down by the sheer force of the 2nd Magic.

Slowly and steadily, Ainz reached to a point where his endurance was forming up. He composed himself once again, but didn't move from his place.

To check whether his wish had been fulfilled or not, he casted the 8th tier spell called...

"[Planar Eye]."

This spell was useful to see the world beyond the plane of existence he was in. In YGGDRASIL, the players used to locate the adjacent planes or demiplanes in the area under suspicion.

Though the spell couldn't see the parallel worlds, Ainz got what he was looking for.

"That's... my world..."

He stared at the world which he has left for months. It looked still same at the time of his transition into the world where he was standing upon.

"I see. The 2nd Magic is not a teleprtation spell, but a location-oriented augmentation of one's own location spells. This is good. In simple words, my spells are now capable of going through the boundaries of this plane to my own plane. Let me try this spell, [Clairvoyance]."

He activated the 5th tier spell and watched over the person who attacked him. It wasn't that hard to find at all.

The old magus was fighting against something huge spider like being, whom Ainz had no idea of.

"May be he brought this upon himself? Fortunately, I am not an AOE expert, or else I will be the next in line of this monster."

Ainz muttered while nodding at the broken appearance of Zelretch and his companions.

Strangely, Ainz felt the range of the Undead Blessing, one of his Overlord skill, had increased as well. He felt that the entities fighting against the spider were all undeads, except the red haired girl, who was still alive.

"I don't know what it is, but may be if I..."

Ainz looked at the powers of the spiders, it was like he toyed with everyone who was fighting against him. He thought about using his discerment spells and weakness sensing abilities upon it. He was quite curious about this being, who could fight this many entities at once with no sign of exhaustion.

Casting his spells, Ainz saw something that he had never thought to see in his life. What he saw was not just a spider, but an amazing, yet terrifying being who was basically a World Enemy itself.

On the other hand, his weakness sensing skill showed the absurd, jaw-dropping weakness of the spider.

"He is weak to the attacks greater than the output of an entire star. As an Ultimate lifeform of the Oort Cloud, this spider has the access over its realm of origin. The spider itself lacks the earthly concept of death and downfall. This is quite worrying. If something like this entered or found a way to my world, then it will be bad. As long as it is on the planet, no entity belonging of the planet can damage him. He has some hacking powers. How odd for a sentient planet to not have anti-hacking prowess. Maybe being old matters the most here?"

The information that he had gotten was enough to put the entity on the World Class threat, there were few things that made Ainz found doubtful to put it at the World Enemy level threat.

First was the access of this spider over its homeworld.

And the other one was the massive damage output of the monster, except the usual Invincibility breaking buff of the World Enemies.

These two reasons alone put the crystal spider away from a World Enemy to a World Champion of the Oort Cloud, who just came on this planet to bully others.

"It must be remedied... but the question is... How?"
