End is Near

Necromancy.

It was an art which used the power of life, death and unlife to utilize one's magic. And those who used them were commonly known as the Necromancers. Hated by the magical society for their vile magic, they lived like hermits and had a different view about the world mostly lived. Their life was harsh and dangerous to live on. Those who chose the path of necromancy would always live under the fear of being killed by the folks. That was why, the necromancers often live a double life. One such necromancer was Momon.

Momon was born into the necromancy society, where he often dealt with death and corpse. Not many children could live under the harsh conditions of the necromantic society. His case was same. Living under the constant protection of his mother, Momon had no clue of who his father. He didn't even care at all. Unlike other children of his, he never got the love and care of his father.

He wore the "masks" to hide his face and body from the prying eyes of other humans. He had to constantly clean his body to remove the smell of death and decay. Otherwise, he would be caught.

The one at the highest position lived like a king, who could dictate the dark societies without even caring about how they lived. And they had no clue about how a normal human society worked, thus, they were incapable of leaving this dark society and became used to all the harsh and tough life they never thought at the first place.

Asking for help was useless, when you were related to the death magic itself. The same occurred with Momon, whose mother became very ill due to overwork. And this overworking was the sole reason why she died at the first place, leaving the poor Momon alone.

One day, he got the job to capture some animals for some rituals of the higher echelons of the society. Unfortunately, he met some bandits who wanted to capture him and sell him to some slave master. Momon himself had a very strong death magic, so he fought and killed three of the bandits with only one spell. But he was not much agile enough to dodge the attack from the hidden bandits.

As they were about to kill him, a paladin in shining armor saved him from being killed by them. The paladin who saved him was the champion of the Alfheim, the realm of light. Rather than killing him, he saved him and looked at him as an equal.

At first, Momon was warying from him, but he soon started to trust him. The champion showed him the true meaning of friendship that he was technically unaware of. He met others who were also ridiculed and persecuted by the humans.

They made a guild named Ainz Ooal Gown which took those who had no place amongst humanity, but capable of great feats and talents.

But every good thing would die someday, and the same happened to them. One by one, they started to dwindle down and he survived as the last one. All of their memories and artifacts became the part of Momon. Yet he didn't indulge himself in their glory.

He took the mantle of Ainz Ooal Gown to turn them into an eternal legend. He opted many subordinates who were loyal to his guild and turned into an empire which he ruled as its true ruler.

Ainz dictated the story of life as best as he could into some medieval style. If he just told him that he was once a human who lived in dystopia of 2138 AD, and then transported into another world as a skeleton mage of his world's number one game, to later become the ruler of the said realm out of pure accident, then...

'I am sure that Gilgamesh will either kill all of humanity before the humans of this world ever do, or he will become even more pissed off. No, I can tell him the reality, he will not believe me. This story is not much different from my reality and it looks magical enough to look believable enough.'

Ainz knew that he had no choice, but to make himself believable enough.

He stared at the face of Gilgamesh who looked rather stoic and hard to decipher. Thankfully, he spoke,

"Hmm, no matter what world we live in, assholes exist everywhere in the multiverse. I can now understand your reasons to return your home."

"Then,..."

"But, there is only one servant left right now, and you have lost the Holy Grail War."

Ainz blinked and tried communicate with Diarmuid, yet there wasno response from him. A feeling of great loss spread in his non-existent heart as he stared upon the face of Gilgamesh.

"Indeed. While you are busy telling me your story, the Wizard Marshall dealt with your Lancer. I am the only servant left in this war, and as per the rules, me and my master have won this Holy Grail War. However,..."

He closed all the portals and walked towards Ainz in s leisurely fashion.

"...if you beat the servant, then you can take the Holy Grail from me and wish to return your home."

"Eh? But, there was no such rule."

"I am the RULE."

Smirking at Ainz, the king of heroes put the Holy Grail at one corner. He stared at Ainz and took out a weird looking stick.

"Ainz Ooal Gown! I, the King of Heroes, challenge you for a duel! The winning prize will be the Holy Grail!"

(Scene Change : Toshaka manor)

Kischur sipped the tea of Darjeeling with great enjoyment. Aside from him, there was also Tokiomi, Kirei and Risei who were sitting in the lawn.

"Truly, this cup is far better than the Holy Grail, yet you alll fought over that wish granting device. How childish!"

He scolded at the pupils sitting with him, like a grandfather to his grandchildren. However, the age gap between them was tremendously huge to even consider them as just his grandchildren.

"By the way Tokiomi, what a out your heir? How is she doing?"

Even though Kischer knew about her, he still asked as he had no point to break this awkward silence right now. His kaleidoscope magic let him see the girl named Rin and her growth with great clarity.

"She is doing good. I am sure that she will become the excellent heir of the Toshaka family. I am proud of her progress and well mannerisms."

Tokiomi took his time praising his little daughter without any brake. Though he wanted his daughter to learn under the Wizard Marshall, the level of intense training was really too much intense. He had seen the survivors who wept while telling about the torture which he called training.

"Oh, then send her to me. Under my tutelage, she will shine even brighter than any gem." Kischur joked.

"A-Ah, no thank you, umm, uh, she is doing fine. She is really not that great, I guess."

Kischur chuckled at the contradictory statements of Toshaka and took another sip from his cu—

The cup fell from his hand.

Standing up with the growing anger, Kischur yelled,

"GILGAMESH, YOU FOOL!"

(Scene Change : Ainz POV)

Gilgamesh smirked like he had done something great. And he was right, he had truly done something great. Angering the Wizard Marshall, who was also your master.

"It seems that my master has gone a little angry..." He stared at Ainz and said, "...I am going to kill you with my final trump card as per the powers of the command spells. After then, I will vanish away. Can you survive your own death, Ainz?"

"Yeah. I can. But why don't you give me Grail then? Why pulling all this drama?"

"Hmph. If you just give your item to a useless person, will you feel satisfied? You won't! I want to see your power, your capability to survive my greatest power. I want to see if you deserve this grail or not. If you proved me your conviction, then I can return to the Throne in peace."

"Ah, I see."

Ainz nodded at that. Of course, Ainz would not dare to give up his items and gears to someone not even worthy of him and Nazarick. Not wasting his time, Ainz prepared himself for taking the trump card of Gilgamesh over him.

Actually, he had told him about the Sword of Rupture, which could tear apart the Space and Time like a hot knife slicing the butter.

To Ainz, it sounded like the attack called World Break, which worked similar to that of his Paladin savior.

"Oh. What's his name?"

"His name is Touch Me. His name is a challenge to all of his rivals who wanted to defeat him. It's full name is Touch Me If You Can!"

"Hoh! Let's see if you can indeed handle it or not!"

And then, the primordial sword named Ea started to roll and so were the winds that dislocated the space-time itself.

"Enuma...."

"[Phoenix..."

"...Elish!"

".....Flame]!"

The Sword of Rupture worked! Slicing apart Ainz from the very fabric of reality itself.

The amount of pain was enormous that even surpassed the pain of being crushed by the Dragon God. But he still persisted and took the damage to its whole. And so he died.

Only to be revived by the 7th tier fire-based resurrection spell.

"Not bad. You are not...bad..."

Vanishing away into the motes of magic, Gilgamesh gave his final words, as he just added a fine servant into the Throne of Heroes. However, he wondered who could summon the Sorcerer King?

"Finally,..."

Ainz sighed in relief and lifted the Holy Grail from its position.

"....I can finally retur—"

"Stop right there!" Kischur yelled.

Hisvoice echoed into the entire valley, like a thunderous roar of a dragon.

"You are not going to touch that Grail! It doesn't belong to you."

"But, Gilgamesh..."

"Don't bring that idiot into this. He can't understand what he has done. Compared to his Archer vessel, I prefer his Caster vessel as his best. And besides him,..."

He pointed his index finger at him and warned,

"Don't even dare to use it! You reek of evil, the kind I have often slained. None of you are any different, all of them are same. You lot can only understand one language..."

Manifesting a rainbow coloured sword, he yelled,

"...DIE!!!"

The sword that absorbed the mana from alternate realities, released a massive beam of prismatic light. However, he had already casted his teleportation right away, letting the spell to blast away the land where Ainz once stood.

The intensity of attack was so immense that the beam pierced through the earth's surface, all the way deeper into the sleeping visitor from the Oort Cloud.

At that moment, Kischur knew, that he had fucked up!
