CHAPTER FIVE

She stuck to the shadows and kept her ears open for this...song. Where ever it was.

At one point she heard heavy footsteps approaching and she dived behind an abandoned cart filled with hay and watched knights match by. Unfortunately for her she landed stomach first on a pile of fresh manure. Where it had come from she didn't know. She hadn't seen any animals as far as she was concerned.

She wanted to scream when she stood up and inspected the disgusting damage. She took off her beyond damaged white hoodie and remained in a solid white tank top. She shivered from the cold village air. Hopefully it wasn't going to get dirty and she would find this guide before she froze to death.

She shivered more as she made her way through the town, with no idea where the song would be playing or if her mysterious guide would be the one playing it or if there was a song at all. The journal was ridiculously mystic and annoying.

She later arrived at the market center of the village. She could tell that it was a market when she passed by empty vegetable stands, closed shops and an empty wagon. The entire place looked as abandoned as the town.

She walked further into the market until she arrived at a pub called The song. The sign was old and tiny she could have missed it if she wasn't paying attention.

She narrowed her eyes angrily at the innocent sign. So basically her guide was in a bar or pub whatever. How original she thought sacarstically as she made her way into the pub. For some reason this whole situation was reminding her of the movies. And if she was being honest with herself she didn't trust the ending.

She entered through the door or what was left of it as quietly as possible not wanting to attract any attention to herself. The bar smelled heavily of alcohol, smoke and sweat. To make it worse the room was stuffy.

The sooner she found her guide, the better. Heaven knows what such people were capable of doing to her.

She sat on an empty table in a hidden corner and observed.

At one corner there was a semi naked soldier slumped against the wall as men robbed him of what they could find. The only clothing remaining on his large frame was a black hose pant the rest of his belongings were Missing, the knight looked as good as dead. His forehead was bleeding heavily, his left arm was at weird angle. As far as her sight went she hoped he still had his fingers. When he groaned, one of men hit him with a large wooden cup until he was motionless once more.

Silvermist flinched. Well that's got to hurt.

She grabbed the journal from the bindle and quietly whispered.

" I followed the song where's my guide?"

The book didn't flutter or bring new writings.

Silvermist rolled her eyes at the object. As if that was new she thought bitterly.

A drunk man stumbled towards her table making her jump. He shook the table as he used it to support himself.

She looked at his dirty face and rotten teeth. He smelled of sweat and manure. She covered her nose and mouth, then gagged. What she would do to get the stench of him away from her.

The man pointed a dirty crooked shaking finger at her.

" You shouldn't be here girly them knights are everywhere" he warned.

Silvermist uncovered her mouth and nose and looked at him. " Am looking for someon-"

The man's eyes widened and he shrieked attracting the attention of everyone else in the bar.

" Help Help"

" oi Jonathan shut up you're gonna bring the damned knights in here then they will have our heads for capturing their friend over there"

" B-but ..l-look"

" Speak up man".

" There in the corner the girl" he said pointing at Silvermist.

Everyone turned their attention to where the dirty man was pointing. Silvermist was trying to sneak out but they caught her and at the sight of her they suddenly had weapons they got from who knows where.

She gulped.

" Now gentleman that's not how to treat a lady" called out a younger voice making the villagers freeze. Just two tables away from where Silvermist stood was a guy.

His blonde hair was in a long mohawk, whose long locks fell gracefully to his neck. He wore a black leather vest over a white tunic and black hose pants. At his feet were black worn out male ankle boots that had seen better days. He stood up and held the hilt of his sword ready to draw it incase things got out of hand. He's green eyes met Silvermist and he smiled and somehow she knew without a doubt that this was her guide.

The drop dead gorgeous guy stood up walked towards Silvermist.

" oi get away from her mate she's.." said a chubby guy with a bald spot.

" now gentleman" the guy interrupted . " I will just take the girl and leave"

" you think we are letting you get away with her" said a thin man with a spiky mace

" After what happened to our wives and daughters" added another with an old sword.

" I say we stop talking about that and get some action" said a guy with a pitchfork.

The guy pulled Silvermist by her waist.

" You might want to hold on " he whispered. " Close your eyes"

Silvermist wrapped her arms around him and shut her eyes. She felt air leave her lungs as the inside of her stomach flipped. She felt herself go numb as her limbs stretched and twisted. When she opened her eyes she felt sick and braced herself to hit the floor. Strong arms held her back and steadied her.

"Woah. There you go" He said making her sit on a cot.

Silvermist covered her mouth with her hands and tried to take in much air without throwing up.

When she was fine she looked at the guy.

" Hello" the guy greeted.

" ummh hi" she said taking one final deep breath. " what was that?"

" we teleported" he simply replied as he took off his sword belt and threw in a large wooden chest.

Silvermist looked around and discovered she was in what appeared to be a large cave.

There was another cot apart from the one she was sitting on. It was quite obvious the guy didn't live alone since there was a pair of smaller shoes under the other cot.

The large cave was their hideout apparently. Near the entrance was a fire that the guy was now feeding. She was thankful for the warm cave as she rubbed her bare arms. When he was sure it wasn't going to die out he headed to another wooden chest and opened it. He withdraw bread and some dried meat, he placed them on a small wooden table and went back to the chest to collect a goatskin canteen filled with water.

" You must be starving"

As if to support his statement her stomach growled loudly.

Silvermist was as red as a beet when she nodded.

He simply gave her a side smile that made her blush some more.

He got a wooden plate and placed some bread and meat. He then handed her the canteen of water.

" Try not to drink all of it at once. Clean water isn't easily obtained here"

She nodded as she started eating her portion.

" Aren't you going to eat"

" Nah I just gave you my portion. I will just wait for Alwin to come so that I eat with him if he doesn't manage to get in trouble".

" Whose Al-"

" it wasn't easy stealing the win-" The scrawny looking guy posed when he looked at Silvermist.

A flash of recognition passed through his eyes for a split second and thereafter disappeared completely.

" Well you didn't tell you'd be bringin a gal here "

" Ohh shit up You twit she's the one whose been appearing in my visions" the mohawk replied as he threw a log into the fire making it soar.

" What visions?" came Silvermist's small voice asked.

Both boys turned to look at her. One handsome as hell with a beautiful hair cut. One scrawny and weak with a funny looking hair cut that remained her of monks serving in a monastery. it was a bowl shape haircut were only a round patch of hair was left the rest was cut completely.

She didn't know what visions they were talking about but she knew for a fact she had companions to help her.

She just met them,Could she trust them?
