Chapter 4-The Facility

Andreas laid down on his new bed. It was soft. The covers were as white as snow, and the pillow was a brilliant blue, almost as blue as the oceans. His eyes would close, but he just couldn't sleep.

A voice kept ringing in his head. It was the same voice from earlier, the one deep within his mind. A deep, dark, and evil tone. A deep growl. But yet it was calm. "Get out. Run. Your doomed."

It made threats and gave warnings, but the child just slapped himself, telling himself it was just anxiety and that he would be fine in no time at all.

He couldn't sleep, so he paced around his room for hours. His thoughts, racing. He envisioned a future where he wasn't restricted to a tank filling with his own blood. One where he was normal. He had normal friends, a normal girlfriend, a normal life. The life he always dreamed of, the very life every other person in the world took for granted, was within his grasp.

Hours go by. His heart rate increases with excitement, and so does the rate his blood filled his current tank. Throughout the night, he changed tanks 3 times.

Finally, morning came. A young girl, maybe 11 years old, barged into Andreas' room, dragging along a cart. She wore a blue dress with a small white flower pattern on it. Her eyes had no light in them yet looked as if they housed every ocean on earth. Her long flowing hair kept getting in her face, but she just blew her hair away. The hair fell back into its original position. The girl started half-heartedly singing out, "Wakey wakey, eggs and bakey!"

The girl left the room after, leaving behind the cart.

The boy shouted down the hall to stop her, but she continued on. He would have tried to chase after her, but he wouldn't be able to drag his tank fast enough to keep up with the girls' pace.

The voice in the back of his head calmly, yet scarily told him to check the cart and see if there was anything of value.

Andreas did as the voice had told him. He checked the top, just a white sheet of cloth. He tossed it aside and checked the middle layer. There was a tube similar to the one he had taken from the Bald man. Without a second thought, the boy snatched the tube, twisted its top off, and injected himself with the strange tech once again.

He thought it had begun to work. He thought his blood had slowed its production, and he thought he was given a gift from the facility. He couldn't have been more wrong. His vision began to blur, and the world began to spin. He tried to fight it to keep his balance. He fought desperately but to no avail. Soon enough, the world had gone dark.
