Chapter 38

In a short while, Hu Liena, Xie Yue, and the others had disappeared, leaving Ye Chen to wander alone through the Royal Academy. Not knowing where to find them, he could only look around aimlessly.

"Ye Chen, is that your name?"

A gentle voice called from behind. Turning around, Ye Chen saw Dugu Yan coming out of the guardroom at the academy's gate.

"I don't want to argue with you anymore. Just tell me where Xie Yue and the others went."

Ye Chen, feeling a bit uncomfortable, turned away, avoiding eye contact.

"Don't misunderstand. I just want to properly introduce myself this time," Dugu Yan said, brushing her bangs aside. "My name is Dugu Yan. I said many things without understanding the situation before. I hope you don't take offense."

"Those who don't know are not guilty. I'm not angry; don't worry about it."

Hearing Ye Chen's response, Dugu Yan smiled softly. After looking at him seriously for a moment, she led Ye Chen to the guest area.

Dugu Yan's hospitality was astonishingly good, enthusiastically introducing the Royal Academy as they walked.

Just as they were about to reach the guest area, a voice called out from not far away, "Yan, come here quickly, I brought you something good from home."

After a brief glance at the golden-haired young man, Dugu Yan turned back to Ye Chen with a smile.

Not wanting to refuse her hospitality, Ye Chen nodded, "Yes, I'm the team captain from Spirit Hall Academy. There was some misunderstanding before, sorry about that."

"It's nothing. That Fourth Prince was arrogant. He deserved to be taught a lesson."

As if recalling something, Dugu Yan's face suddenly turned red. Glancing at Ye Chen, she softly asked, "Do you... do you have a girlfriend?"

"What?"

Her voice was too soft; Ye Chen couldn't hear her clearly.

Upon his response, Dugu Yan's face turned even redder. Without another word, she hurried away.

Ye Chen was left bewildered, shaking his head as he walked towards the guest area.

"Ye Chen, you're back."

As soon as he entered the courtyard, Xie Yue and Xu Ning waved at him. However, their posture seemed odd, with their legs unnaturally spread apart, as if trying to hide something.

"Yeah, I'm back."

After greeting them, they led Ye Chen into a luxurious villa nearby, each finding a place to rest.

Time passed quickly. A new moon rose high, and night fell over the Royal Academy. Despite the darkness, the atmosphere was far from peaceful.

Outside the villa where Ye Chen and the others were staying, a slender figure approached and soon knocked on the door.

"Knock, knock, knock!"

It was still early in the night, and Ye Chen and the others hadn't gone to bed yet. Hearing the knock, Xu Ning went to the door to inquire, "Who is it?"

"Tianshui Academy!"

The visitor didn't give her name, but hearing "Tianshui Academy," Xu Ning got excited.

The students from Tianshui Academy were all beautiful women. Could it be...?

Imagining a beautiful scenario, Xu Ning hurriedly opened the door, smiling as he asked, "Welcome! Who are you looking for?" He adjusted his hair, trying to look as handsome as possible.

Seeing this, the short-haired girl in blue stepped back a bit, glancing towards the villa. "Is Ye Chen here? I need to speak with him."

Before he could react further, she walked into the villa, heading towards the west room, her tall figure moving gracefully.

Wiping the drool from his mouth, Xu Ning stood there enviously, muttering to himself, "The captain is so lucky. Even with a fiancée, he still attracts such beautiful women. But, given his looks, it's no surprise..."

Just as he closed the door, another knock sounded.

"Knock, knock, knock!"

Hoping this time it might be someone for him, Xu Ning opened the door to see another blue-dressed beauty, this one petite and delicate.

"Are you looking for...?"

"I'm looking for Ye Chen. Is he here?" she asked with a smile.

Xu Ning's face fell, but he understood. Pointing to Ye Chen's room, he let her in.

Before he could close the door, a slender finger pushed it open again.

Seeing the visitor, Xu Ning numbly pointed to Ye Chen's room, "The captain is in there."

"Thank you, you're so kind."

The beautiful woman smiled and walked towards the villa, leaving a trail of fragrance.

"Could there be more women looking for the captain? No way..."

Mumbling to himself, Xu Ning didn't close the door, keeping watch instead.

Sure enough, a few minutes later, another student from Tianshui Academy arrived, and Xu Ning directed her to the west room.

This repeated three more times until the villa finally quieted down.

Feeling exhausted, Xu Ning realized it was going to be a sleepless night. Watching the activity in the west room, he sighed with envy, weakly pumping his fist, "Go, Captain! You can do it!"
