Chapter 9

"It was pretty easy to be here before you, it is my class after all." I tell her, and she nodded in response. She went over to the seat in front of me and turned around. She continued to make conversation.

"So how was your first real day of school?"

"Honestly, if I was to put it into a single word it would be, hectic." I respond and decide to ask my own question.

"How was your first year here, anything to note?"

"Hmm… Meeting the club members and having the opportunity to start this club this year were definitely great but there were also tons of lows as well." I nod in understanding. Right when I was about to continue the conversation the door opening loudly attracted our attention.

"Fear Not The Vice Pres Is Here!" Sayori yelled when she noticed that Monika was not there alone she let out a bit of nervous laughter but continued being her upbeat self. We talked about our wishes for the future while waiting for the other members. Monika told me about them one was a shy purple-haired girl called Yuri Nakao, and the other was a brash pink-haired girl called Natsuki Sada. Not too long after, they showed up together. Natsuki looked at me, then Monika before talking.

"I thought I asked you to only recruit girls, this club was supposed to be our space. Now this boy is gonna ruin it." She said to Monika. It makes sense now, Monika's attitude towards me when I wanted to register she didn't want me to join since it would disrupt her friends' comfort. Monika responded.

"It was him or no Literature Club, so I decided on the former. I would rather have the Literature club with him than no Literature club at all." Monika responded, Natsuki puffed up her cheeks and crossed her arms in response. One thing that Monika said that got my attention was that she had to recruit me or the Literature Club was gone, I inquired about it.

"What do you mean if I didn't join the Literature club going to disband?"

"Nagumo, the Student Council Vice-President asked us to recruit a freshman or else the club would be disbanded on the basis that the club would not be sustainable." Monika responded and cleared things up. So I was the only one that wanted to join, that is surprising one would think that perverts would love to join a club filled with incredibly cute girls. Monika then entered her Club President persona.

"Okay, Everyone! Today we welcome Doi Katsu to our club!" Monika said me and Sayori were the only ones to clap while Natsuki seemed to ignore my presence and Yuri seemed too shy to even look at me.

"Also we have to find a permanent spot to set up our club's meeting spot during school days. Does anyone have any suggestions?" Monika asked the room.

"How about the Cafeteria, it'll be empty since it's after school and you have snacks right there" Sayori pitched in, I didn't think it was a bad idea though her reasoning was a little childish.

"Maybe someone's dorm room, it's quiet, has air conditioning and will probably have snacks." I give my idea to the group, and for my last point, I directly looked at Sayori. Natsuki did not like this idea at all.

"So you just want to be in a girl's room, despicable" Natsuki says

"I'm a part of someone, we could do it in my room as well, I don't mind" I said that to try to justify myself

"Uhhh yeah no thanks your room is probably disgusting." Natsuki said in response, you really can't win against her.

"Okay, Everyone!" Monika got everyone's attention from me and Natsuki bickering.

"We will meet up in my dorm every weekday after school, understood?" Monika said

"U-u-undert-tood"

"Yup!"

"Gotcha"

The only person to not agree was Natsuki.

"Are you really gonna let this creature into your room like that? Imagine what he's gonna do!"

"I'm sure it'll be fine, but just in case he does anything I give you permission as the Club President to teach him a lesson" Monika said in response kind of sick of Natsuki's unwillingness to have me in the club. Upon hearing this Natsuki signed to me that she has her eyes on me, by pointing at her eyes and then at me.

"This club meeting is now over, everyone feel free to stay, but you can go now" Monika said, I messaged Karuizawa about how the talk with her class went and took out homework to do Sayori and Monika talked near me but I ignored them so I could do my work, I think I also hear Yuri talk with Natsuki but I was focused so I didn't really pay attention much.

I was done pretty soon after and my phone buzzed with a couple of notifications.

[want to go to Pallet to celebrate?] - Katsu

[just me and you, my treat for helping me out] - Katsu

[k. I'll head over now] - Katsu

[not now! im not ready, lets do it in like an hour and a half] - Karuizawa

She definitely thinks this is a date, well is that bad though? I don't think so, I want her to get pretty close to me so maybe this is good for me, well then maybe I should prepare as well. I started to leave in a hurry.

"Why are you leaving so fast, you got a date?" Natsuki asked rhetorically

"I actually do, how did you know?" I asked as I left hurriedly

I got to my dorm room and had a shower, then put on my fanciest pair of clothes, it was a black collared shirt, I had only buttoned it partly to show off my looks more. I also wore weathered jeans with a black belt. I also styled my hair fancily. I waited a fair bit before leaving for Pallet. I eventually got seated and started waiting for my date. After waiting Karuizawa enters the Cafe wearing a blue button-up dress with a white belt on her midriff. I flagged her down and she soon arrived at the table.

"Wow! Karuizawa you look wonderful" I say to get everything going.

"Th-thanks you too!" the girl clad in blue responded.

We just talked while eating our food if people heard our conversation they might think that we weren't talking about much but we were mostly because of the person we were talking with. Today that was all that she wanted to do talk with me privately. She was obviously looking forward to just spending time with me. But, all good things must come to an end, and that much is true for the date as well. We were walking away from the Cafe signifying the end of the date.

"This is where it ends, I had a wonderful time Kei" I made the switch to use to given name. Karuizawa became red like a tomato.

"Me too" Karuizawa spoke softly.

"Katsu, can I talk to you about something? It's private." Karuizawa asked me, is this finally it, can I get the thing I want way ahead of schedule?

"Yeah sure, come with me to my dorm." I say I start walking to the dorm, Karuizawa was walking in my shadow, the walk there was eerily quiet after the atmosphere that was built up after the date.

We had finally arrived inside my dorm room and Karuizawa got in front of me and sat on my bed, I stood facing her, looking down on her.

"Do you want to be my boyfriend?" Karuizawa asked.
