SIGMA: The Rise of a New Era

Are you ready to embark on a new adventure to a high school campus with teen werewolves, where the competition is not between Alpha and Alpha for the territory, but an Alpha and a Sigma- or are they even competitors? David Matthew, the Alpha-in-training of the Eclipse Pack has been preparing to take over the leadership of his pack and over the disputed Crescent territory by fighting his prime enemies- the Alphas of the Orion and Moon packs. But his expectations are largely subverted when he finally comes face-to-face with the rumoured Alpha of the Moon pack for the first time, Nora Rovery. _ Nora Rovery has led a mostly secluded life uptil now- scorned by her father, disregarded by her mother and her existence largely hidden from the public eye, under a carefully-crafted web of lies. She has understandably set high hopes for her first day at the new high school- which promptly seems like a bad idea within the first thirty seconds of encountering the school bully, David Matthew. Come along on this ride with David and Nora, who are born to be enemies, but end up forging their own path, true to their rebel spirits.

The summon

The day was indeed long, but there was something that was keeping Robin away from all the possible tiredness of it all!

Whenever he was glimpsing Nora and the gorgeous smile on that effortlessly beautiful face, every drop of his tiredness was evaporating into thin air within fractions of a second.

Although this fact was enough to give him major shocks, the aftershocks were given by the reality that he had also raised his voice on Myron, for the first time in his life!

Nora was indeed becoming important for him, and he needed to protect himself from those feelings. There was already too much on her plate, and the news of his caring feelings towards her was sure to bring a storm in her way!

He was sure that he was not going to fall into the trap of forbidden love, but even his friendship could be deadly to her, if it was a guise for his caring feelings.

While he was busy navigating the chain of his thoughts, he heard a knock on his door, and he answered ;

"Come in!"

"Prince -"

"Yes?"

"You are requested to gather for the council meeting, as the Royals have joined the conference room."

Robin jumped off his bed, knowing that if the council had been called, then it was bound to be the worst news he had heard this year! And he knew well enough, how much scope there was for the situation to go wrong.

But still, all he was caring about was just about a girl named - Nora!

________________

Nora couldn't believe herself, or the fact that it was just the third day of her freedom; freedom from the high walls of her luxurious palace, and she was already in love with it!

And not only that, she had been lucky enough to find two friends for her lifetime, where one was as dear as her own brother. And moreover, he had found himself a girl whom he liked romantically; and with that in place, all she needed to do was to find a way to bring him and her together, so that they could know each other better.

But while she was going through all these thoughts about how to concoct an opportunity for them to interact, her brain was dragging her back to the line where Myron had informed her that even though Valerie was an omega and could be a perfect mate for a beta, he had to wait till the first moon of this month and also her first heat. That was when most of the she- wolves knew who their real mates were, because sometimes, a he-wolf might get confused in the selection of their mates, with the Alphas being the exception. The Alphas tended to become aware about their mates the earliest of all, generally much earlier than other lower rankers.

But before she could have found any loophole to fill this gap of his sentences, she heard a voice calling out to her. The sound of the unknown informer went on as she shifted her attention;

"Princess! I am sorry to interrupt you on your way, but I highly apologise for the change in plans. You have to follow me to the council, as the votes are going to be cast today, in order to determine the result regarding your stay."

As soon as the person completed his statement, Nora's heart missed a beat, as if one end of the steadily thrumming string had been caught at the end of this phrase. And then as the implications dawned on her, within the blink of an eye, the sound of her heartbeat started echoing in her ears as drums, because her heart had started to beat with twice the usual intensity.

As it was, she didn't know if something like a bad omen really existed in this world or not, but she was damn sure by now that jinxing something was really possible. Undoubtedly, she had just jinxed the sole reason for her happiness by being too happy about it, and now she was going to lose the last shred of hope of ever being happy in her life.

The thought danced in her mind to the tune of lamentations. Her heart was experiencing the greatest sorrow of the universe, while witnessing the death of her happiness with a front row seat, all in slow motion.

Romera was not sure why exactly she was willing to go against everyone to keep Nora out of her house. She knew she was a born princess, an Alpha, the heir to the throne and a possible candidate for the fight, and that she was supposed to have all the luxuries of the world wrapped around her fingers. And yet, she was not able to convince herself that she should let Nora stay in her house and attend the classes by travelling back and forth.

It was not like she had not tried at all, to dive deeper into the depths of these thoughts and decipher the reason why she was ready to do all this, and most importantly, why she was daring to risk going against the Alphas!

However, all she was able to gather was the fact that she wanted to find the reason behind the fear in the eyes of a Princess, who was also a born Alpha! The girl was born to rule the world, then how and why was she so afraid; and more importantly, who was she afraid of?

Her attempts at picking the source of her motivation had not been completely futile, though, because they had strengthened her resolve to look after the timid girl. There was one thought roaming in her mind, acting as the marching drum. No matter how hard she had to fight, and how much trouble she had to embrace on her way, she was not going to leave a young girl in fear of anything, to cower with the thought of being completely alone, and the mindset which told her that she had to deal with everything alone!
