Should have remained crush

Warning: (Mature content) Which is more painful? Losing your childhood friend or losing your other half? What if your childhood friend is also your other half? Life with Ray was perfect. Perfect family, lovely kids, lavish life...everything was perfect. But then Ray had to die leaving Laura an emotionless object. She became immune to pain. She forgot how to care and in the process, she pushed her friends away. She needed healing. Or maybe love. But the media wouldn't make things easier for her. Every tiny bit of her life was captured and featured on the dailies. Her immediate best option was you hide; Hide her life, work, kids, friends and love. Hiding her feelings wasn't easy though. She was hurting the other party in the process. Dario Anderson. Our dark eyed knight. If the media was the issue, then he had to be more powerful to control the media. If he was the issue, then he had to change to be worthy of her love. If his age was the issue, then he had to convince her that age was just a number. If her kids were the problem, then he had to convince them that he wouldn't try replacing their father but would try helping their dad finish what he had left unfinished. What about if his family was the issue? What if the Andersons hid some informations on Ray's death? What will happen if Laura came to know? There are so many hurdles that the two were to pass through such that they would begin questioning if their decision to become a couple was a good one. The main question is: Should they have remained crush? .

History repeating itself?

Alex stood there, looking past Ash who had a stupid perplexed look on his face. He had seen Ash meaning there was a possibility of his Anderson friend or whatever they were there being there. And the GPS led him here, meaning Laura was there.

Reverting his eyes back to Asher, he gave him a small smile definitely amused by the way he looked fluttered. "Can i come in?" He asked, waiting for the boy to either move aside or tell him off. He had a feeling he was going to let him in which he did humoring Alex's manly ego. He didn't care for introductions, there was a more pressing matter he had come here for.

His footsteps didn't go unheard by Dario who thought it was probably Asher coming back.

"Who was it?" He asked still not looking behind him. Alex stopped on his track when he saw Laura cuddled on Dario's arms.

His eyes stayed on the two acting all cozy. He wasn't repulsed one bit, neither was he disappointed. He just didn't know how to describe what he was feeling then. Sorry? or Nostalgia?

He really was hoping it wouldn't end up like with Ray. Last night, Alex had though there was chemistry between Dario and his little friend considering all the grinning and smirks and smiles he directed Asher's way when he had gone to pick him.

Twenty four hours hadn't passed yet he was on the big white sofa acting all cozy with his friend.

Was he not gay? Did he just overthink everything and there was nothing going on with him and Asher. Was he attracted to both of them? Was it throuple relationship with both Laura and Ash?

He was really hoping he was wrong. That history wasn't going to repeat itself. That Laura was not falling for the wrong guy again. That Dario was really sure about what he was getting into. He didn't want to hurt Laura. The secrets he was harbouring was enough to leave her with a deep wound already.

"Morgan?"

Dario's voice got him from his trance. Laura got up, slightly shaken. She didn't expect Alex to be there and seeing the unwelcomed look Dario was giving him, she had a feeling things weren't going to end well.

"Alex?" Laura, in the same tone as Dario acknowledged his presence. There were questions evident in her eyes which Alex caught on.

"GPS."

Laura nodded. It now made sense. The four, Ray, Laura , Alex and Carol had had GPS tracker in their phones and could trace their friends whenever necessary. This was the third time Alex found it necessary to use it. The first time was two years ago with Ray, next was when Leigh had disappeared and now this.

"Why is your phone off?" Alex asked the initial worry now replaced by frustration.

"It's on." Laura answered innocently making Dario chuckle, what earned him a glare from Alex.

"Fuck Laura don't give me that bullshit. You know what i am talking about."

Laura didn't expect that snap, giving him a blank look, she answered, "I needed to clear my mind off things."

"Clear your mind off things?" He Snickered and his voiced had a taint of sarcasm in it, "Because what i see is far from clearing your head." He finished, eyes looking between the two. He didn't mean to sound like an asshole, he was frustrated from three good hours of worrying about Laura. He knew that Laura was right, she needed to clear her head off things but he just couldn't help saying that.

Laura was silent. Dario too. He was thinking how Alex sounded liked a jealous asshole brooding from unrequited love. And for the first time that day, he thought of asking Laura what her deal with Alex was. To him it didn't seem like nothing.

Alex on the other hand was thinking on how to apologize.

Before anybody could say anything, the door opened revealing two people, holding hands.

Laura's eyes caught on the hands intertwined together. Liz and Blake. Liz who had been mad the first time she heard Dario was at R&L, her reasons being he was an Anderson and an Anderson, according to Liz, had caused Ray's death. And now she was fucking holding hands with the Anderson who allegedly, to Liz who didn't believe it was an accident, caused Ray's death.

Then there was Dario. Her eyes moved to his and there it was, guilt. For the first time since she remembered liking him, she had seen him as an Anderson.

All this time, she had seen seen him as just Dario. Why did she view him differently now? Why did she hold him responsible for something that wasn't even his fault. That topic hadn't once come in any of their discussions, but why was she feeling betrayed. And why was Dario feeling guilty.

Dario looked at the disappointed look in her face which disappeared as fast as it appeared. That look wasn't directed at him but why did it feel like that was meant for him. He wanted to assure her that things weren't that bad, that she could still trust him. He reached out for her hands but she pulled away. She didn't want him to touch her. He felt a constriction in his chest. Why was it hurting that much?

Laura moved to get her phone from the sofa before walking out without sparing Liz and Blake another look. Liz tried calling out for her but she ignored her. She had a blank look in her face as she walked away. Deep down, she knew she wasn't that mad at Liz because of her being with Blake. She knew she just felt nervous infront of her. She always did. And now that there seemingly was something going on between Liz and Blake, she felt jealous. Blake had something she couldn't have, not in a romantic way but still he had her best friend.

Dario stood where she had rejected his touch wondering what the hell just happened. One minute, they were all good, cozy and the next minute, they were distant. It wasn't easy for him to break through her walls and just as he was almost breaking through, shit had to happen. He was very sure her walls were higher than before. He was left there hoping that he wasn't back to square one.

Still in his thoughts, he vaguely heard Asher curse.

"Look at this D." Asher said handing Dario his phone.

"Shit!"

Dario cursed.
