Rupture is a sword crafted by Cien from a combination of iron, horn and bone of Blackwood Stag.
Cien did not use Mana Cores as one of the materials, which means the sword cannot supply mana on its own. Therefore, by today's standards, Rupture cannot be considered a magic weapon.
However, similar to Bluminous, the sword possesses its own skills. The wielder only needs to supply mana from himself to the sword in order to unleash its true power.
With that being said, Rupture should be an expensive item. However, Cien easily made it and gave it to Jamie for free. Making the soldier from Westya a bit surprised at the Shop Owner.
Cien himself didn't really think that Rupture was worth that much. He already had an ample supply of the materials, and forging the sword also enhanced his skills.
So for Cien, giving the sword as a token of gratitude for Jamie's help was not in vain.
Well, if Jamie still insisted on paying for his work, Cien certainly wouldn't refuse.
Cien watched as Jamie started to swing the sword. Trying to get used to his new sword
While Jamie was getting accustomed, Cien explained the abilities of Rupture as he had read on his phone.
Jamie's eyes shimmered with excitement upon hearing the explanation. Without hesitation, he immediately channeled his mana into the sword, causing it to emit a brownish glow.
The more Jamie channeled his mana. The more he felt the heavier the Rupture.
Jamie then leaped and swung his sword with all his might to the ground.
Bruaarrr!
The ground instantly shattered like a broken mirror, creating a crater.
The force exerted by Rupture left Jamie stunned, but he couldn't help but smile broadly.
"Wow... this... wow..."
He couldn't even express his amazement in words. With that wide smile still on his face, he turned to Cien, intending to express his gratitude once again for giving him a sword far beyond his imagination.
However, as he turned, his gaze met the cold stare of the Shop Owner.
"Um... umm, Mr. Millard, thank yo—"
"What the fu*k are you doing?"
"...huh?"
"Do you realize that you just destroyed my backyard right in front of me? And what do you mean by that big smile? Are you mocking me?"
"...."
Jamie instantly broke into a cold sweat. He turned back to the newly created crater, realizing that what Cien had said was indeed true, causing more sweat to flow down his face.
'Umm, yeah... I guess I went overboard... ha ha ha…'
Jamie immediately placed Rupture back into its sheath. Then swiftly grabbed a shovel to level the surface of the ground that he had destroyed.
While Jamie was busy repairing the damage he had caused, Cien picked up a small block of wood and sat on it. He gazed at Jamie with a long sigh.
Previously, whenever he tested his new creations, Cien would always go to the border of the forest and the barrier. He did this because he considered the potential damage that could occur.
He just didn't expect that after explaining the capabilities of Rupture, Jamie would immediately put it into practice without hesitation.
Fortunately, Jamie hadn't reached Rank 5 or above yet. Otherwise, the damage that occurred might have been even worse.
"Aish..."
Cien sighed again. At least he had witnessed the abilities of Rupture. Cien couldn't test the sword's power because his mana supply was insufficient to use the fullpower of it.
Regardless, he was only Rank 2. Too weak in the eyes of a soldier like Jamie.
Rupture itself was a sword that could increase its own mass based on the amount of mana channeled into it.
The more mana Rupture received, the heavier the sword became. This may seem too simple for the power of a sword. However, for a sword expert, manipulating the weight of their own sword could become a formidable weapon.
Could Jamie unleash the full potential of Rupture? Cien didn't know, but what he knew was that Jamie wasn't a sword expert.
The 'trash' term he mentioned five days ago to Jamie was not meant for his sword. It was meant for Jamie himself.
Because of the condition of that guy's sword. Cien knew that Jamie wasn't quite as proficient with a sword as he could be.
Jamie seemed to be putting too much weight on his own sword. Makes Cien think that the sword won't last long if that guy continues to use it. It's so sad, because for Cien, the sword that Jamie has is a good sword.
In the end, after realizing this, Cien created Rupture. Not only could the sword manipulate its own weight, but its durability was also far superior to the ordinary swords found in the market.
"Well, at least it's enough to waste some time."
Cien then picked up his phone, turning on the screen that still displayed the recipe for Rupture.
Leaving the window, Cien switched to the home screen of his application. There, his eyes instantly focused on the camera icon.
"Oh, I haven't used this on anyone before."
Cien murmured and immediately opened the camera feature, aiming it at Jamie, who was busy working.
The person was unaware that Cien was holding a suspicious object because he was too engrossed in fixing his own mistakes.
Click!
The photo was taken. Cien lowered his phone and looked at the detailed status of Jamie on the screen.
__________
[Status]
Jamie (27)
Male
Ethyria Garrison, Westya Kingdom.
Rank 4 Middle Class
Skills: Wind Magic (Novice), Mana Manipulation (Proficient), Storm Breaker Swordsmanship (Proficient), Royal Ethyria Swordsmanship (Novice), Basic Westya Martial Arts (Proficient), Physical Amplification (Novice).
__________
'Hoo... he has wind magic. But, just a novice. It's a pity. With the amount of mana he possesses, wind magic could have been very useful. It seems that Jamie is the kind of person they refer to as someone who relies on muscles rather than brains.'
That was Cien's response after seeing Jamie's status on his phone. With the power Jamie possesses, perhaps he could hold a rank as a captain or maybe a lieutenant.
If he works seriously to master his magic, maybe he can become the mythical magic swordsman. But, well, it's impossible. At least Cien thinks, with Jamie's capabilities, it's just a pipe dream.
Cien shrugged, no longer concerned. He wanted to exit the status window before his eyes glanced at a new icon that appeared on the screen.
Seeing the icon, Cien's eyebrows slightly raised. Because he knew the meaning of that icon without having to read the details.
'This is the 'add friend' icon. It's usually found in online games. But what's its purpose here?'
Curiosity got the better of Cien, and he pressed the 'add friend' button.
Ding!

Cien immediately returned to the home screen. In there, a new icon appeared. It depicted a couple—a man and a woman, holding hands and laughing.
Cien tapped on the icon.
There was only one name on the list.
__________
[Friends List]
Jamie (27) / Rank 4 Middle Class / Ethyria Garrison / Healthy
__________
Cien could see Jamie's name, age, power level, affiliation, and possibly his current condition through the list.
Cien tried pressing Jamie's name on the list. A new window opened, displaying Jamie's status, similar to what Cien had read through the camera info. But there was one different icon there.
Below Jamie's status, there was a telephone handle icon, which, for Cien, represented for making a phone call. The problem was...
'Jamie doesn't even have a phone. So, what does this icon mean?'
Cien looked in the direction where Jamie should have been. However, there, in the place where the recent repairs were only halfway done, the man was no longer there.
"Hm, where did he go?"
Cien then glanced back at his phone. See the call icon on Jamie's status. Curiosity welled up within him. So that the thumb of Cien automatically touches the icon.
Only realized after the screen changed to the calling screen. Cien was stunned and immediately brought the phone to his ear.
Tut…
Clack!
Cien only heard one ringtone before the call was answered. He immediately heard Jamie's voice from the phone.
<Hmm... Does Mr. Millard not have a crowbar? That's a shame. Well, never mind. Oh, that tree trunk looks suitable for leveling the ground!>
Cien could hear Jamie talking to himself. His voice echoed a bit, giving Cien the impression that Jamie was inside a cave.
'Wow... this phone is amazing. With this, I could spy on people, couldn't I?'
Cien thought to himself. He then tried calling Jamie from his phone, hoping that his voice could reach him.
"If you're looking for a crowbar, I have one in the workshop. I don't keep it in the garden."
<Uwaaa!!! Where did that sound come from?! Damn, Mr. Millard is so scary that I can even imagine his voice. Huuuh~>
"It's me, the scary Mr. Millard."
<Uwaaa!!! Is it really Mr. Millard? Uh... uh... uhhhh, how is this possible??>
"Just consider it telepathy. I'll fetch the crowbar."
<Telepathy? What is that?>
"..."
Cien didn't know what else to say other than mentioning that he could do telepathy. Well, technically his ability might be telepathic, so what he said wasn't entirely wrong.
Cien then heard hurried footsteps coming from the direction of the cave. He knew it was Jamie running over, probably out of curiosity.
Cien frowned, feeling lazy to entertain that curiosity. He ended the call and walked into the shop. Heading to the workshop, he grabbed a crowbar and hurled it at Jamie when he reached the backyard.
Jamie seemed like he wanted to say something, but Cien immediately turned around and went back into the shop.
Cien didn't feel like dealing with Jamie right now. To explain what telepathy is, will be too annoying. He rather focused on the newly discovered phone feature.
With this feature, Cien felt he could gather a lot of information from the outside world. By befriending the stranger, he could easily obtain information about the stranger's whereabouts.
For Cien, this feature could potentially be a way for him to gather information about his family. About his wife and daughter.
Cien sat behind the shop counter, once again taking out his phone and fiddling with it in his hands.
'It's been almost a month since the last event ended. If this app is like the games back on Earth, they usually hold regular events every month, three months, or six months. I hope this is a monthly event. I can't wait to go to the next location.'
Cien thought, a smile forming on his face. He imagined all the things he could do for the upcoming event.
