Emma's Unfortunate Situation

I was sitting on the floor with Satori and the others talking about our favorite basketball players and other sport related topics. Naomi looked at me then focused her attention back towards Otsuki and the other girls. They were just chitchatting and gossiping as normal, but Emma was a bit more quiet than usual.

"You feeling alright Emma?" Rebecca asked.

"Huh? Oh yeah. I'm fine, just not feeling it right now." Emma said looking at her phone.

Rebecca looked at Emma worried then a few girls walked passed Emma and pulled her hair a bit.

"Oops, my bad broke girl." One of them laughed.

I noticed it and was about to stand up to confront them, but Satori told me to stay seated. I looked at him and rose an eyebrow.

"This isn't something you should get in between. I understand you want to help them, but this is something the girls have to handle themselves." Satori said.

"You sure..?" I asked.

"Yeah, you think the girls are gonna just allow Emma to be bullied? They always got her back." Satori said.

I gave him the benefit of the doubt and stayed seated. Emma did an awkward laugh as the girls laughed after pulling her hair on purpose. Tsubami walked towards the girls and stopped them.

"That's your second warning. Bullying is not tolerated in this school. Next time I catch you, you will be suspended." Tsubami said.

"Ugh whatever bitch." The girl rolled her eyes and walked passed Tsubami.

"Emma who are those girls?" Otsuki asked.

"Just some girls from my class. Asa, Reiko, and Koume..." Emma said.

They were also rich girls, but they didn't have a Princess Complex like Naomi. They were just bullies who thought they were just better than everyone because of their money. The bell chimed for us to go home. We all went to the changing room and changed into our normal clothing. We left the building and Emma was already gone before any of us. I was worried about Emma and decided to go over to her house. I got on the train and looked out the window. I know Satori told me to not interfere, but I couldn't let this keep happening. I had to figure out the real reason. The train stopped and I got off then walked towards Emma's house.

"Sorry Satori...I can't stay out of it. When it involves my friends, I have to help them." I said as I was nearing Emma's house. I was about to ring the doorbell and heard talking inside.

"I know Mr. Sumida! We just don't have the money for you right now! You want...¥633,873? But we are already behind on bills and-- N-No! There's no need for that! Okay I'll have the money for you by next week!" Emma's mother said. "If we don't get ¥633,873 by next week...we could be evicted of our home.."

With this information, I had to play a little detective. Before that, I took out my wallet and took out ¥10,565. It was only $100 to the $6,000 they need but it should help a little. I put it in an envelope I took from my bag, wrote a note then rang the doorbell and quickly left from the area. Emma opened the door and looked down to see the envelope I left.

"What's this? From: The New Guy, To: The Sugimoto Family." She read and opened the envelope and saw the ¥10,565. She was surprised and covered her mouth and looked around. She couldn't find me, but she was thankful that I helped her out.

I went back to the train and rode the train back to the school. I got off the train once I arrived and walked towards the school building and Tsubami met me outside. I texted her to meet me outside the building. I made it to the building and walked inside with her.

"You've never done this before. Did you forget something?" Tsubami asked.

"We need to talk in private. I don't need anyone who's in after school clubs hearing this." I said.

"Right, let's talk in our office." Tsubami nodded.

We walked towards her office quickly and entered then she closed and locked the door. She walked towards her desk and sat in her chair, looking at me.

"Do you know all the students in the school?" I asked.

"I'm Student Council President, it's my duty to know the names of ALL students of this establishment." Tsubami said. "What's the issue? Come to report an incident?"

"Who's last name is Sumida?" I asked.

"Sumida? Reiko's last name is Sumida. Why though?" Tsubami rose an eyebrow.

"I'll explain it when I'm done. Do you know what Mr. Sumida does?" I asked.

"He owns a multi-million car company. Why are you asking me these questions?" Tsubami asked me.

"Emma and her mother are being targeted by Mr. Sumida. As I went to check up on Emma at her house, I accidentally stumbled up on a phone call Emma's mother had and she said Mr. Sumida." I said.

"Ahh and that's why you're playing your little detective game? I'm happy you want to help, but there isn't a think I can do about that. He's too wealthy to be brought to justice by normal means. You could like act like a peasant and beg him for money to help them out of their situation." Tsubami said.

"And I'm back at Square One.." I sighed. "Thank you though."

"No problem. I'm sure you'll figure something out." Tsubami smiled.

Someone was listening to our conversation and walked off. Asa, Reiko, and Koume laughed as they walked out of the building after their after school club meeting.

"Did you see the look on her face when I threw that paint at her?" Reiko laughed.

"She definitely wanted to fight, but she can't because you could just sue her for everything she owns!" Asa laughed.

"Alright girls, I'll see you later!" Reiko split from the group and the other two females went a separate way.

Someone quietly went behind Reiko and chopped their hand against their neck and Reiko passed out. The person looked around and saw no one near. They picked Reiko up and sneakily took her to an abandoned house that had a basement. They blindfolded her and chained them to a chair. Reiko soon woke up, still dazed.

"Where...where am I?" Reiko asked.

The person took Reiko's phone out of her skirt pocket then smirked. She used Reiko's thumb to unlock the phone then contacted her father.

"Please...whoever you are...let me go.." Reiko pleaded.

"Hello?" Reiko's dad answered. "Reiko?"

"Hello Mr. Sumida." The person said, it appeared to be a woman's voice.

"Who is this?! Where's Reiko?!" The dad asked angrily.

"Right here. Say hello to your daddy, Reiko." The female held the phone closer to Reiko.

"Daddy, please help me.." Reiko pleaded.

"Whoever you are I'm reporting this to the police!" Mr. Sumida yelled.

"Now, let's not do that. If you do call the police, I'll kill her right here and now." The female said in an ominous tone. "I'm sure you'd love to see your daughter come home in one piece.."

The female took out a gun and rubbed it against her cheek and laughed sadistically. Reiko became more afraid and whimpered.

"Now, let's negotiate a deal...For your daughter's life, give me ¥63,387,302. Or would you like me to tell the people the truth of your scam company and have me kill your daughter on top of that. My trigger finger is itching to pull this trigger right now and blow your daughter's brain out!" The female laughed.

"Please don't--"

"Shut the fuck up!" The female punched Reiko's face and Reiko cried out. "Now Mr. Sumida...you have only two choices give me the money or sacrifice your daughter's life. Time's ticking."

"Please don't kill my daughter..I'm sure theirs another way of doing this!" Mr. Sumida said.

"Tik...Tok...tik...tok....tik...tok.." The female fired the gun over Reiko's head and laughed. Reiko began crying and shaking. "That's a warning shot Mr. Sumida! Next shot will be at your daughter's head! Now give me your fucking answer or else this bitch will have a funeral!"

"Daddy!!" Reiko cried.

"Fine! I'll give you the money!" Mr. Sumida yelled.

"Leave the money at this location and I'll have your daughter waiting there as well. If you play any games, I'll kill you and your daughter." The female said.

"I-I promise I'll give it to you, just please don't kill my daughter." Mr. Sumida said, defeated.

The female hung up the phone and smashed it against the floor and unchained Reiko then smirked.

"You're one lucky girl you know.." The female said and forcefully made Reiko stand up and pushed her up the stairs. She took out a box of matches and took out a match then lit it up and threw the box down and the lit match at the box. The box was set on fire then the fire began spreading across the basement.

The female waited with Reiko outside the abandoned house and Mr. Sumida came out with a suitcase full of money and handed it to the female quickly. She took the suitcase and pushed Reiko to her father and walked back in the house and took her gloves off and threw it in the flames. She looked back and saw Reiko and her father had already left. She took off her mask and smirked.

"You're free from your debt now." The female said and threw the mask in the flames and laughed as she walked away.

45 minutes passed and the female set the suitcase in front of Emma's home and left a note that looked like Reiko wrote it and rang the doorbell then left, putting on her hood. Emma answered the door and saw the suitcase and a note.

"I'm sorry for bullying you, I swear I won't do it again.." Emma read aloud then picked up the suitcase and set it on the table and opened it. "Ehh?! Mom! Mom! Come here!!"

"Yes? Wha- This is over 63 million yen!!" Emma's mom said in shock. "Who sent this?!"

"One of the bullies..I don't know what happened but I'm happy that we can finally get out of debt." Emma smiled happily.

"Let's go pay off the bills we have, and use whatever money we have left to fill our house with food again!" Emma's mom said.

"Yeah!" Emma nodded.
