A Friendly Roommate

Yu Zhao went upstairs alone, and a banner was hung on the left fence of the second floor.

"Welcome the new students of the School of Biology. Come and feel the devastation of living creatures!" 

Yu Zhao's lips curled up into a smile. This group of students knew how to give names indeed.

Yu Zhao gathered her thoughts and entered the classroom.

In the huge classroom, other than a few seniors sitting at the two tables, the rest of the seats were empty.

At the very front, there was a 'New Student Registration' sign, as well as a few other new students who came to report.

"Hi, are you here to report as well?" A chubby girl with a round face came forward. "My name is Gu Li. What's your name?"

Yu Zhao raised an eyebrow. This name was quite interesting. "Yu Zhao." 

"Yu Zhao, what a coincidence! We're in the same dormitory!" Gu Li hugged her arm excitedly. "That's great! I heard that there are only two girls in the School of Biology. I thought that I would have to mix with the girls from other schools."

In the face of Gu Li's excitement, Yu Zhao was much colder.

She was used to fighting and killing together with a bunch of men at the base. She hadn't learned how to get along well with people of the same gender, so she seemed a little cold.

Gu Li also noticed Yu Zhao's unfamiliarity, so she quietly retracted her hand. But her face was still brimming with a warm smile.

Compared to her cold attitude just now, Gu Li did not seem to mind at all.

A trace of guilt suddenly rose in her heart, so Yu Zhao coughed lightly. "Hrm... How do I report?"

"I'll help you!" Gu Li laughed heartily and took her admission notice to the front row.

"Gu Li, so you're here!"

At this moment, the spectacled man who had just left walked into the classroom.

Yu Zhao raised her eyebrows. It turned out that the 'she' that the spectacled man had left behind was Gu Li.

Gu Li smiled and said to the man in glasses, "Lin Hao, how many times have you forgotten me?"

The bespectacled man named Lin Hao smiled shyly and scratched the back of his head. "I'm sorry. I was memorizing the formula and was asked to guide the new students." 

"Hmph, don't do it again!" Gu Li pouted, then took Lin Hao's hand."Here, let me introduce you. This is the new student who reports to school today." 

"I brought her here just now, and I accidentally forgot about you," Lin Hao explained. Then he turned to look at Yu Zhao. "Hello, I'm Lin Hao." 

"Yu Zhao."

"Sit down and wait for a while. I'll go and handle the procedures for you," said Lin Hao as he pulled Gu Li out.

Yu Zhao looked in the direction they had left and narrowed her eyes, deep in thought.

Soon, Lin Hao returned. He took out two white cards from his pocket and stuffed one of them into her hands.

"Here, this is your and Gu Li's dormitory card."

Yu Zhao took the card and said suspiciously, "You and Gu Li..."

"We've been together since high school. She's silly but kind, so you don't have to worry about not getting along well with her," said Lin Hao earnestly.

"Oh, I see." Yu Zhao nodded and kept the card.

Lin Hao smiled. "I'm going to work. You and Gu Li take care of yourselves!" 

With that, he turned around and left.

Looking at Lin Hao's back in a hurry, Yu Zhao touched the tip of her nose.

The feeling of being cared for by others was quite strange.

When she returned to the dormitory, Gu Li was already waiting for her. When she saw her coming in, she smiled and said, "You're here. I've retrieved the dormitory's public items from the aunty in charge of the building. Oh, where's your luggage?"

Yu Zhao was stunned for a moment. She just brought a bag here, so she said, "I don't have any luggage." 

"What?" Gu Li's cute face showed a hint of confusion.

"Are you free this afternoon?" Yu Zhao asked.

"Yes." Gu Li nodded.

"Let's have lunch together." Yu Zhao coughed lightly. This was the first time she had taken the initiative to invite someone, so she was a little uncomfortable.

"Of course!" Gu Li agreed happily.

The two of them went to a hot pot restaurant near the school.

As they sat down, Yu Zhao explained to Gu Li, "I'm used to being alone. Please bear with me if I do anything wrong in the future." 

"What's the big deal?" Gu Li smiled. "Everyone has their way of life. We'll be classmates, roommates, and even friends in the future. Take it slow!" 

"Thank you," she said. Yu Zhao heaved a sigh of relief. She had thought that it would be tiring to interact with girls, but luckily it was fine.

Gu Li seemed to have noticed something and asked, "You must have a lot of secrets."

Yu Zhao was silent for a moment before she slowly shook her head. "I guess so." 

Even though she was the king of the mercenary world, no one could see through her inner world.

Gu Li blinked. "It doesn't matter. No matter how many secrets you have, I'm willing to keep them for you." 

Yu Zhao's heart was filled with warmth. She looked up at Gu Li. "Gu Li, thank you."
