Dept to Pay

Moments after Hari broke Katsu out of custody.

"*Heavy Breathing* Oh... god, well that was... something.", said Katsu trying to catch his breath.

"Okay, now that you're out, give it back to me.", said Hari.

"Give what?", asked Katsu.

"The money I dropped earlier when we met, when we bumped into each other.", said Hari demanding.

Katsu thought for a minute and remembered about it.

"Oh yeah about that, I don't have it.", said Katsu with a nervous smile.

"What... do you mean... YOU DON'T HAVE IT!?", said Hari who is slightly ticked off.

"When that annoying guard guy took my sword, he also took the money you dropped.", said Katsu with a nervous smile.

"So, I have a question, ... Is it back in that room where sword was, WASN'T IT!?", said Hari who is very obviously angry.

Hari walks towards Katsu, put his hand on his shoulder, grips his shirt, and said:

"It took me a WEEK of planning to get that gold, which was 100,000 gold pieces and now all of my efforts wasted,", said Hari with a menacing look.

".... that was my reason for breaking you out to begin with, so that I get my money back.".

"But you know what, that isn't a problem, because now that your here, I can get my money back.", said Hari as he puts his hand in his pocket.

Katsu now has the feeling of fear as his heartbeat cancels out all sounds.

"I'm going to die, he's probably going to kill me sell my organs to the black market so that he gets the money back.", Katsu thought to himself as he closes his eyes and expected the worst until:

"Here, take this.", Hari says as he pulls out a piece of paper.

Katsu opens his eyes and says, "What's this?", he asked.

"It's a flyer for the Adventurers Guild, you can go on quests, earn money, and you can pay me off that way.", said Hari.

"Oh, oh ok.", said Katsu with a sigh of relief.

"So, we are going to the Adventurers Guild right now on your first quest.", said Hari as he walked off.

After a long while walking, Katsu and Hari reached the other side of the village, and they stand in front of a building with the sound of people chatting and laughter and music can be heard inside.

As they walk inside, people are seen celebrating, eating food and drinking large pints of beers and wine.

"Can we get something to eat, I haven't eaten anything in a while.", asked Katsu.

"You can eat when we're done taking a quest.", said Hari.

"*Sigh* Fine.", said Katsu.

The both of them walk towards a bulletin board covered with flyers of quests, application for joining guilds, and many different things.

As Hari scans the board, he stops at one of flyers, takes it down, and walks towards Katsu.

"Take this one.", said Hari as he hands it towards Katsu.

"Okay, let's see here,", said Katsu.

"JESUS CHRIST...!!", he said with shock.

".... there is NO WAY I'm going to fight a FIRE DRAGON FOR 5,000 gold pieces!!", he says as he shoves the flyer back at Hari.

"YOU OWE ME A LOT OF MONEY SO WERE GOING TO TAKE THE QUEST WITH THE HIGHEST REWARD!!", Hari says with anger.

"No, at least let me choose a mission that doesn't burn me into ash!", said Katsu as he walks towards the board.

"Ok, let's see here, hmm... this has a high reward, but I could be killed, this one's is very easy, but the reward is low,", Katsu thought to himself looking at the quests.

Then Katsu notices one flyer that caught his eyes and took it.

"What did you pick?", asked Hari.

"I found a quest that says 'Defeat Monster in the East Forest', and the reward is 500 gold pieces!", says Katsu.

"Hmm, it's not a lot but it's a start, why not.", Hari says.

The both walked towards this table with an old man with his legs kicked up on the table and asleep.

"Hey Yasuo, wake up.", said Hari.

The old man is still asleep as he snores louder.

"I SAID, WAKE UP!!", Hari shouted.

The old man wakes terrified, fell off his chair, and slowly gets up rubbing his head.

"Ugh, what do you want?", he says as he fixes his chair.

"This guy wants to accept this mission.", Hari says as he's points towards Katsu who tried flirting with one of the waitresses and getting slapped.

"Hmm, I see, let me give you and your little friend the approval and you can go for the quest.", said Yasuo.

Yasuo grabs the flyer, stamps it, and hands it back to Hari.

"Hey kid, we got the quest, let's go!", said Hari.

Hari leaves and Katsu follows rubbing his face.

"That kid is going to get eaten out there.", Yasuo said to himself in sympathy.

15 minutes had passed as wandered deep into the East Forest.

"When do we find the monster hoard?", Katsu asked.

"Stop asking me that, we will find it soon.", said Hari in annoyance.

"It's been way longer than it should, and it's getting late.", Katsu says with worry.

"Well then let's hurry up, and get this over with.", said Hari.

"RUSTLE, RUSTLE!", bushes had made.

"WHAT WAS THA-!", Katsu said before Hari covers his mouth.

"Shh, sneak around quietly to not get any attention.", Hari says drawing his sword while slowly getting close to the noise and then:

"H-hello?", a timid little girl says emerging behind the bushes.

"Oh, it's just a girl.", said Katsu with relief.

"Why are you out here all alone, where are your parents?", asked Katsu.

"I came here with my parents and was told to pick up so vegetables, but when I came back they were both gone and got lost trying to find them.", said the girl wiping her tears.

"I'm so sorry to hear that, but don't worry we know how to get out and we will take you back to village.", said Katsu with a gentle smile.

"Kid don't get close to her.", Hari says with his sword out in attack position.

"What, why, it's a little girl, she is scared, lost, and her parents are probably killed by that monster!", said Katsu with concern.

"Don't trust her, she is the monster, she is trying to trick you, WE HAVE TO KILL HER!!", shouted Hari.

The girl screamed and hid behind Katsu and holds onto his arm.

"WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH YOU-!", Katsu says before:

"DON'T LET HER GET CLOSE!", Hari screamed.

"BITE!".

"KID!!!", Hari yells while rushing towards Katsu.

Katsu looks at the girl to see that she bit a chunk out of Katsu's arm.

"AHHHHHHHHH!!!", Katsu screams in pain as Hari grabs him and pushes him behind.

The girl started cackling and then her appearance seemed to change, she grew older, taller, she had horns, and long ears.

"Hari, what is she?!", asked Katsu in horror.
