By 2025, VR gained a place throughout many sectors, from entertainment to manufacturing, even design, VR was being used. The rise of Virtual Reality also caused a massive rise in the popularity of e-sports. Instead of sitting at consoles or computers playing the games, players were now able to actually be in the game, causing them to have to learn a whole new way of thinking and skillset. By 2050, companies around the world started to sponsor their own groups that were designed to train the next generation of pro players, often times these companies brought on retired pro players as trainers, coaches, or managers for the teams. Now a new game company, Shadow Lands Entertainment, has come out of nowhere with a new game, releasing the closed Beta to only the top 200,000 players in the world, making an average of the top 1,000 players from 200 countries of the world.

About the World

In the late 90's, with the advent of the original VR systems, a boom was created in the virtual reality industry. By 2025, VR gained a place throughout many sectors, from entertainment to manufacturing, even design, VR was being used.

Due to the rising popularity of Virtual Reality, many various types of Virtual Devices came into being, ranging from sleep pods; for those who wanted the feel of sleeping in places other than home, to the VR Cabin; a virtual chamber used by many designers for their work.

The most popular VR Devices though were the Oculus and VR/H band used by many gamers. The Oculus were designed to look like designer sunglasses and the VR/H, or VR Holo band could also act as a smart watch, connecting to a portable VR deck the size of a smart phone.

The rise of Virtual Reality also caused a massive rise in the popularity of e-sports. Instead of sitting at consoles or computers playing the games, players were now able to actually be in the game, causing them to have to learn a whole new way of thinking and skillset.

With the rise of VR and VR E-Sports has also come a rise in VR MMORPGS. Created for those who want to be able to enter a new world or even reality, these include sci-fi, post apocalyptic, zombie apocalypse, fantasy and anywhere in between.

This is my first novel that I'm writing, there may be several Auxiliary Volumes in the future with other information with 'in game' lore. I hope everyone enjoys the coming novel.
