After Rafe dropped Justin off at work, he went over to the precinct to see if the restraining order was served. He ran into Officer Santos walking out the door. “Jorge, how’s it hanging?”
“Loose…” Santos walked to his patrol car.
“Did Conti get served before he made bail?” Rafe followed, anxious to find out if the putowas back out on the street.
“Conti made bail and was served. I didn’t see it but from what I hear, he blew. He made all kinds of threats but the lawyer who bailed him out smoothed things over by claiming he had PTSD from waking and finding Christopher Carter dead in the bed while he was wounded and bleeding. They bought it and let him go.”
“Does the restraining order still stand?” Rafe paced in front of the patrol car.
“Calm down. Yes, the order stands. If he comes within two hundred feet of Justin, you can call and someone will respond and bail will be revoked.” Rafe stopped pacing and looked at Santos.
