New Life

When Okashi opened his eyes, he saw a black tunnel with a white light at the end. He heard muffled voices from the end of the tunnel. "I guess I'm being born right now, I should probably head to that light," Okashi thought. He slowly went to the light and when he got out of the tunnel he realized he was much smaller, and it was a lot harder to control his body. His new body was currently a baby with green eyes and light beige skin. Like all babies, he was naturally cute, but he didn't seem out of the norm in anyway. "Congratulations Mrs Hyoudou, it's a baby boy," said a docter holding Okashi. Okashi, who was confused, thought, "Wait a minute, did he say Mrs Hyoudou?!"

The docter carefully put Okashi into the arms of his new mother, Miki Hyoudou. Miki was a Japanese woman with long brown hair that goes straight down her back as well as brown eyes. She was currently wearing a hospital gown while laying down in a hospital bed. When Okashi was put into his new mother's embrace, she smiled at him with tears of joy in her eyes as she said "I'm happy to finally see you my son, I promise to give you as happy a life as possible."

Hearing this made Okashi want to smile, but his current baby body wouldn't allow him to. He loved his mother in his previous life, but he knew that he'd probably never see her again, so while he didn't quite acknowledge this woman as his real mother yet, he understood that this woman's feelings toward him were complete parental love. Just as the new mother and son were having a moment, the hospital door slammed open with a man entering.

Okashi realized this man must be his new father, Gorou Hyoudou. He was a Japanese man with spiky brown hair and brown eyes. He had a few wrinkles on his face that showed that he wasn't very young. He wore a blue button up shirt that reached his elbows and brown pants, as well as brown shoes. He wore a pair of rectangular glasses. Gorou quickly walked over to his wife to see if she was alright. After getting conformation that she was alright, he looked at his new son and grinned. "Hey kid, it's amazing to finally meet you! I can't wait for you to meet your older brother!" "Ah, I guess this means that Issei is my older brother now. I wonder if my existence has changed anything yet. Probably not, I've only been born recently, so nothing new should happen yet," Okashi thought. He understood that his existence would eventually change the story, but he thought that nothing big should happen yet. While Okashi was thinking about the future, something his new father said got his attention, "So what should we name him dear?" Miki thought about it for a bit before smiling and replying with, "Okashi. Okashi Hyoudou."

Okashi and his mother stayed in the hospital for about a week before going to their home. Standing in front of the house made Okashi finally realize that he was no longer home, he was in the world of DXD, not as Okashi Maken, but as Okashi Hyoudou, son of Miki and Gorou Hyoudou, and brother of Issei Hyoudou. He would have a more fulfilling life than he did his past one, he would become a person that didn't stay in the background, but a main character that would pave his way in history! This was also the day that he met his older brother, Issei Hyoudou.

Issei was currently a 1 year old baby with a small amount of hair on his head. He had brown eyes filled with curiosity as he looked at his new younger brother. After staring at him for a few minutes, Issei let out a goofy laugh as he held his baby brother's hand. Watching the future member of the Perverted Trio act so innocent made Okashi wonder how he became the Oppai obsessed boy he would be as a teen.

Anyway, Okashi's life as a baby could be described in one word: boring. His routine was, wake up, eat, shit, eat again, shit one more time, then sleep. His only enjoyment was spending time with his brother and his parents. He knew that his previous family and friends were probably sad about his death for a while, but the goddess told him they had happy lives after his death, so he stopped worrying so much about them, focusing more on his current family.

As time passed, it became obvious that Okashi was special. He physically grew at the same pace as Issei, but he learned things much faster. Okashi quickly learned how to crawl and walk again, and learned how to talk a few months before average. By age 3 he was already reading books on elementary level. While Issei grew at a more average pace, Okashi was quickly hailed as a genius by his parents. Of course, this was all a result of his education in his past life. However, Okashi's apparent genius didn't make him and his parents love Issei any less. Okashi really bonded with Issei growing up, and he truly came to love him as a older brother, even referring to him as nii-san from time to time. And while he never forgot his past parents, he truly begun to love his new parents.

They lived happily as a family for a while. Eventually, Okashi turned 3, which would become a important day in his new life.

Okashi slowly opened his green eyes. He had spiky brown hair and green eyes. Since he didn't like sleeping with pajamas, he currently was wearing a green t-shirt and boxers. He was in a bed with Issei sleeping soundly next to him. After yawning, he quietly got up and took a shower. After brushing his teeth and putting on clothes, he went to wake up Issei. "Nii-san, wake up Nii-san! It's already morning!" Issei slowly opened his eyes after being woken by his young brother. He had brown hair that was smooth at the front and spiky at the back, as well as brown eyes. He didn't wear any clothes except red boxers. After cleaning himself and putting on clothes, Issei and Okashi went to get breakfast.

The first thing they saw was their mother placing two plates of pancakes, eggs, and bacon on the table, with orange juice next to it. Their father was already eating the delicious dish while reading the newspaper. Seeing her children staring at the breakfast with hunger in their eyes, Miki giggled and said, "Good morning kids, go ahead and eat." Getting the ok from their mother, the boys quickly said good morning to their mother and father and went to the table. "Thank you for the food!" the boys said happily before quickly starting to eat. Miki's food was really good, so they looked forward to eating it everyday. They especially needed the strength today, as today would be Okashi's first day of school. And unknown to his family, today would be when Okashi starts his training. As he was eating, Okashi remembered something important, "When is Irina going to show up? I know she was Issei's childhood friend, but the story never completely explained when he met her. It's either that or I don't remember. Anyway, since today I'll be doing training, I should probably focus on my magical aspects for now, and only do light exercises. Anything stronger than that could hurt my foundations, and make getting stronger physically harder later on."

After eating breakfast, Okashi and Issei went to school. Since Issei was older than him, he would normally be in a different class then him, but since Okashi was so 'smart', he was allowed to skip a grade and go to his older brothers class. As they went into the classroom, Okashi could see many children looking at him, probably confused on why a kid younger than them was in their class. Not really caring about them, Okashi told his brother, "Nii-san, we should probably pick our seats now." Issei, who agreed with his little brother's statement, went with him to get a seat.

After they sat down, the lesson began for them. Although Issei, who was more focused in academics due to his brother's influence, was paying great attention to what the teacher was saying, Okashi didn't really care. He had already learnt everything here, so why should he have to listen? So while everyone else was paying attention to what the teacher was saying, he just slept on the desk. This greatly annoyed the math teacher, Mr Soma, so he slyly said to Okashi, "Okashi! Since you don't want to listen to my lesson, how about you solve the question on the board. Since you're a genius, you should easily be able to do it." The teacher smirked, thinking, "This kid thinks that he's the shit eh? Well guess what, no one can sleep through my class! Let's see you embarrass yourself in front of you classmates, hehehe." Okashi, hearing this, slowly went up to the board and perfectly solved the equation, shocking everyone in the room except his brother. While they didn't know about his intelligence, Issei has already been shocked by his brother multiple times, eventually getting used to it. After finishing the problem, Okashi turned to Mr Soma and sarcastically said, "I've solved the problem Mr Soma, by the way, that toupee looks great on you! Did you just get it?" After mocking him, Okashi went back to his seat and started to sleep again. Mr Soma was enraged by what Okashi just said, as the hair on his head actually was a toupee.

Mr Soma attempted to make Okashi mess up multiple times in class, while each time the reincarnated boy perfectly solved all equations he made, earning the respect of all the kids in the room. Throughout the day, Okashi perfectly solved all the problems thrown his way, impressing many of the teachers there, but slightly annoying them by sleeping though their lessons and slightly mocking teachers. When it was time to go home, they quickly walked back to their house, where Okashi greeted his parents and went upstairs. This would be his first time training in this world.
