Errands.

Her head was held high as she walked down the streets, dress billowing with the wind. Her molten brown eyes blankly looked around at the various things spread across the street.

Yet her fast footsteps never slowed down as she walked in a particular direction. Her pace was neither hurried nor slow just constant.

She seemed to be on a stroll not an errand nor a look around. That was until she stopped at a restaurant front.

Her figure stood still with her eyes affixed on the magnificent calligraphy hanging above it's doors.

None of the other patrons stopped to stare as she did. A multitude of people could be soon walking in and out the establishment.

No one seemed to notice the figure standing still before the doors. Her eyes were different now with a curious glint shining in them.

A middle aged man stopped after noticing her standing for a while. "Young miss, are you looking for something?"

She turned to him before shaking her head slowly and looking back up. The man stood with her for a while before walking away with a frown.

He had seen that kind of dress before it was only worn by the women from that place. None of them would walk around during the day because it could easily be used to identify them.

Though she had worn a veil that covered up her features. Everyone could tell who she was just from the dress.

He turned back to see if she was still there and saw nothing. It was strange she had stood there for a couple of minutes and now she was gone.

He wondered where she had gone before shrugging and continuing on his way.

"I thought you were no longer coming."A deep voice yelled excitedly as soon as she stepped in.

He was clad in a blue get up and was very tall forcing her to look up at his menacing face. His smile made her feel chills running through her body.

He cluelessly stood before flashing his teeth not knowing how scary he looked. She looked around and noticed he was talking to her.

"Me ," she still asked pointing to herself.

"Of course you, who else would make me wait for this long." he boomed before turning and walking in deeper into the restaurant.

She stared at his back before rushing to follow behind his massive figure. She followed him dumbly looking around the huge restaurant that was half filled.

The eyes of the patrons followed behind the duo looking curious. She turned back to the massive back wondering if they were staring at her or him.

Several wood beams supported the entire structure as several wooden tables littered the room. Beautifully engraved doors stood on the left side of the room.

Unlike the other walls the wall on that side was decorated with numerous masterful paintings. A wide wooden counter stood next to the wall with two men standing behind it.

They were dressed in blue just like her guide who had already gotten to the door before pushing it open. He turned back to her before standing and waiting for her to walk in.

She walked into what looked like a totally different building. This section had translucent doors lining along the sides.

A faint floral scent filled the place and it was quiet. Her guide shut the door behind him before guiding her to one of the rooms at the end of the corridor.

He opened the door with a bright smile as if wanting to sho off his slightly yellowed teeth ushering her in. She forced a smile before stepping in and looking around the well lit empty private room.

"Here it is just as agreed." he added before closing the doors.

She walked in deeper into the room and looked around the richly decorated room.

It looked entirely different from the outside with fine carpets lining the floors. Various paintings were hang around the room.

She approached one of them and stared at it for some time before turning to the table that stood in the middle of the room.

Even the table looked expensive as.it was lined with silver and engraved with different inscriptions.

She sat on one of the seats and traced her finger on the engravings of dragons and man. It almost looked like it was telling a story.

The huge black dragon was furiously breathing fire down on a group of people as they scattered around everywhere running.

Only a group of five remained still as if basking in the fire raining down upon them. They were dressed in resplendent robes and stood on mountain watching the chaos.

She felt something stir within her the longer she stared at them. It felt like a scene she had seen before. Even the dragon menacing expression started to morph into a desperate , frustrated one.

They had taken from it, stole everything valuable to it and now they were even trying to take her away. His fire his life force was all being slowly taken away but he could not stop he had to protect her.

Her finger lingered on the dragon's back were a tiny black clothed figure lay resembling his scales. He was her the tiny motionless figure.

She hated the for it taking everything away even when they didn't deserve it. Her hand clutched onto her chest as she stared at the scene.

"Sad, isn't it" A deep voice suddenly commented making her look up.

The man from before was back and standing next to him was a young man. She presumed he was the one that had spoken before.

He was dressed in the darkest blue she had ever seen. It almost looked black and would be confused for balck if the room was any darker.

He looked tiny and slim next to the first man's gigantic frame. The gigantic man stepped back and bowed before leaving the room.

She remained frozen and watched as the young man knelt beside her staring at the place her finger lay.

She quickly drew away her finger and lay back on the seat avoiding him. His eyes were a deep black that pulled her into their hidden depths.

"Everyone thought he was a monster but he was never the monster they were."

She mumbled looking down at the tiny figures scattered away from the dragon.

"No one has ever interpreted it like that. You must be her."

He acknowledged staring at her, their eyes met and they remained silent as they stared into each others eyes.
