Chapter 20: Rebellion

As the sun sets, countless protests and riots, the activists scream, demanding justice as the guards still try to back them off.

However the soon to be fallen Governor-General isn't down for the idea of having the entire public against him, rather than fix this problem, he would eradicate it instead.

As the prejudice between the citizens protest increases, out of nowhere the guys in jumpsuits jumped in front of them and starts throwing their artificial magic at them, causing them to flee in panic.

Then more of the magic powered guys appeared and start attacking the citizens, some were injured, some were killed, and these have no remorse.

A little boy and a little girl are cornered by a man in jumpsuit with blue bolts, the man raised his hand to prepare to hurt them as they closed their eyes.

But it never came, they opened their eyes and saw someone else between them and the attacker who laid dead. They saw a red ball of wisp coming out of the dead man and went to the guy who saved them. He wears a black hooded short cloak, grey quarter length sleeved shirt with two tails, red tie, black pants and grey boots with black belts each, and he's hold a scythe in that dripping with blood.

The figure looked at the children with his red eyes to see they're alright, and they smiled in relief.

"Thank you mister." the little girl thank him as he nodded.

"Now get outta here kids." Alex told them

The boy took the girl and ran off as Alex prepares his polearm scythe, runs to the magic powered jumpsuits and starts slashing at them.

While a couple of jumpsuits cornered a couple at a car, Sara dived from that said car and shoots two jumpsuits and landed behind them.

"You should go!" she tells them before joining her reaper friend into the fray.

She shoots jumpsuits one by one then dodged the incoming blast and shot at the source, she reloads her revolvers then rolls forward and shot the three that attempt to attack on her left, then shot at the jumpsuits that was about to throw his magic at Alex, who was blocking the beam of light with his scythe.

He then pushed the beam away and dashed to the guy and diagonally slashed him. Then he adjust his scythe to kama form and chopped the guy at his left and punched the guy at his right then blocks off another guy who transformed his hand into a claw at his left then spins around before cutting him down, then spins back to where he was to dodge the blast, struck both attackers at his sides and twirls his kama around then sweep behind him and kicked another guy off.

Alex then leans back and twirls his kama around which slashes three guys coming at him then spins and slashes the fourth guy. He then brought his scythe upside down to block, twirl and cut down to his left then right then kicked the guy he sliced off away. He ducks the incoming swing while spinning to the right and upper slashed the attacker two times in an X pattern, then another guy lunge at him only for Alex to grab his wrist, throw him to the ground and dug his blade at his back, killing him.

Sara and Alex pressed their backs together as they find themselves surrounded.

"There's too many of them! we can't break through!" she said.

The men in jumpsuits slowly steps closer as they display their powers in their hands for intimidation.

The tension increases as they are boxed in by super powered legion with their weapons ready, eyes narrowed and teeth bared, the duo are overwhelmed.

'Dammit! We can't stop here.' Alex mentally curses.

One guy in the front is readying for a powerful magic blast. Alex and Sara braces and prepares to counter, but he was suddenly blasted with an ice blast, which froze him in place.

Alex and Sara turned their heads to the source of the blast and saw the familiar Wolf Prince as he freezes a handful of guys. He then raise his sword in the air and lets out a battle cry.

Then the rest of the White Sword soldiers rushed in and shoots at the magic powered legion as they in turn throw their magic back at them, escalating into a shootout.

Nathan then slides down on ice that formed beneath his feet and stops in front of Alex and points his sword at him.

"I will make this clear. I do not condone your actions nor do I take part with the Resistance, but I am not blind of the stakes more important. Consider this a truce, but once this is over, the Reaper will see justice along with the former Governor-General." he scolded.

"Whatever you say, wolf boy." Alex said dryly.

Nate puts down his sword and charges to the enemies into combat. Alex and Sara took this opportunity to run through while slicing and shoot at them.

"Yuka how's that gate going?" Sara said through her comms.

(Headquarters Control Room)

For the final piece of their revolution to work is through a plan, and it requires it to be from the inside.

While the chaos ensues, Shinonome, with the help of Edith, evacuated the staff and took the control room. Though she is protected by a handful of security who was willing to turn their backs from their Governor-General.

"Almost there....are you good back there?"

"All good ma'am." the security replied.

"You realize you may die in this one, right?" Shinonome asked concerned.

"Anything is better than backing up his insanity."

Shinonome muses this as she deactivates the gates.

"All done, you're good to go." she said through her comms.

Sara nodded and turns to Alex.

"We have to get through those gates."

"Then go!" Nate suddenly said, causing the two to face him with surprised looks.

"We'll hold them off, get to Strahm and make him see justice."

The two were about to leave but Nate grabbed Alex's wrist with a serious look.

"But if you kill him, I'll have no choice but to arrest you too."

Nate let's go of him and Alex rolls his eyes before sprinting to the front gates while Nate continues to unleash a barrage of ice.

While the tyrannical Governor-General Strahm stands there, staring at the ball of flame in cased in glass. Then a noise of bullets and screaming occurred outside of his office.

A few seconds, entered none other than his little brother, Alden Strahm.

"You've always knew this day would come, brother." Alden speaks.

Caine turns around slowly, slightly agitated.

"You think I would fall here brother?"

Alex and Sara runs through the halls while taking out the guards, they're recently told that Alden went ahead to confront his brother so they had to get there fast, until they're stopped by three jumpsuits.

The woman in the front floats in the air with debris orbits around her while the other two had green and teal flames in their hands, they threw their fireballs at the duo, causing them to take cover behind the pillars.

While Sara was exchanging shots and Alex casted his dark magic projectiles, the woman with the debris blocks it anyway.

"This will take forever. Go! I'll cover you." Sara said as she shoots.

Alex nodded with complete trust. Seeing his opening he runs around them, the guys were going to attack him but Sara kept them occupied.

He went past them and ran forward, while she stayed to fight them.

Back in the office, Alden and Caine were having a conversation with the chaos ensues.

"You never accept losses, even when we were children." Alden berates.

"Maybe I was tired of being the one who was left out. Maybe I was tired of watching you getting praised by mom and dad. Maybe I was tired of living under your shadow." Caine spites back.

"And you think might and power solves everything?"

"Either become strong or be trampled upon, I will give power to the powerless and together, we will become gods among men."

"By taking and slaughter innocents, I'm starting to think that my brother is truly dead."

"You are weak-willed, and that's why I will come out on top." Caine spat as he pulls out a gun at his own brother.

But Alden had predicted this, so he slams his hand on a metal tray that was right beside him and catches it to block the bullets. Then he throws the tray at his face which causes him to stagger, taking this opportunity to run at him, grab his gun and pull off the slide.

Caine throws away the gun and comes at Alden with a right hook, but Alden deflected that hook and socked in the face, kneed him, punched his face a few times then threw him over his shoulder while holding him wrist lock.

"You're still rash and arrogant brother, that is why you never prosper." Alden says.

But Caine decided to pull a below the belt trick, he pulls out knife from his sleeve and stabbed Alden by his leg, he screams, letting him go and staggering away from him.

Caine gets up, clutches the knife and walks towards his little brother.

"You left yourself wide open. Like I said brother, you're weak-willed." Caine grins evilly in victory.

By the time Alex barged in only to see Caine shoved his knife through Alden.

"NO!!!"

Alex tapped in his anger once again, he dashed towards Caine and pushed him on his desk. He grabs hold of Caine's collar and punches him repeatedly in the face with full force. Caine appears to be tanking those punches.

After like ten punches, Alex was suddenly punched to the side to the wall. He recovers to see who attacked him.

It was Rena.

She then smirks then rushes to Alex and pushed him through a wall to the next room and pins him to another wall.

"Round two, brother."

Letting his rage soar, Alex channel his dark magic through his anger and releases a shockwave that repels Rena back.

She lands on her feet and looks at Alex, who is radiating with eldritch sanguine power from his body and his eyes glowed red, she grinned at what she sees.

"Oho! Well done Alex, you're finally using you're magic. Well then, let's see what you can do." She said with glee as she ignites her sword in flames.

Alex pulls out his scythe and the twins are prepared to fight.
