Chapter Twelve

Athena POV

I need to find out more from what I have gotten so far, they are the Steele mafias and Liam is the most dangerous and the leader which also includes him being an assassin which doesn't make sense to me because Liam is trying to make me an assassin like him which would make me stronger than his brothers.

"Why would you want to make me stronger?" I asked.

"Making you stronger because we need a a woman in our midst and that's you" Liam said with a serious face.

"So you want to make me part of your mafia but why me of all the women you have come across?" I asked.

"You are an orphan just like us, no identity linking you to anyone and mostly you have nothing to lose and your enemies can't find a weakness to use on you" Liam explained, this was getting more and more interesting and pleasing to my ear.

" But aren't you guys always scared of what would happen if one of you get captured?" I asked but all Liam did was laugh out loudly.

"Do you see us like brothers who care about each other we intentionally dont do things and that is the main reason why as their best I keep my identity hidden from the world, except people close to me like you". He replied.

"That's very risky, I always felt like I won't ever be able to hurt someone I love untill I shot Caleb". I said to Liam still recalling on everything that happened.

"That was when you became stronger and also qualifed you to be the only female amoungst the triplets abd if possible one of the strongest amoungst the four of us". Liam said smiling.

"I am a bit nervous, and also don't think I am qualified". I whispered, Liam moved closer to me placing his hand on my shoulder.

"You don't know what you are capable of unless someone told you, and I am telling you now". Liam said to me, I thought about all of it for a while before smiling. Liam smiled back at me before pulling me in for a tight hug, which was very comforting. I always felt more free and save with Liam and I don't think that can ever change.

I excused myself from his presence so he would be alone as I strolled around the mansion thinking about what Liam just told me, can I really become that strong. I never knew this was what he was training me for abd apart from that I also always wonder why that pendant was so valuable to him, it might belong to his mother or father or someone he loved. Luke Yas never mentioned Liam loving anyone so that is an exception.

I continued walking through the garden when I noticed Logan staring at me from afar and a wine glass in his hands, oh no. This can't be happening at all.

Caleb POV

I was finally discharged from the hospital after everything that I passed through. I still couldn't get through to Athena it seemed like she vanished or something similar to that.

I went back to my old apartment and it was burnt down to pieces, nothing left of my memories with Athena, this was the only place I could run to to find her abd she isn't here.

I wish I could get another chance with her so I can explain myself and maybe she would then give me another chance. I had to work at an expensive bar not too far from my old apartment while I slept at the storage room with my luggages, the only once I could scramble out. That did not stop my search for Athena at all I continued to ask around of her whereabout buy everywhere I go people kept telling me she did not exist, but if she was dead that should have also been clarified.

After several days of searching for her I decided to let go and take in the fact that she vanished or maybe she left the country after what happened, or maybe she was escaping the police and did not want to be found.

One evening while I was cleaning the club I heard a few customers whispering amoungst themselves but I had no interest on whatever they were saying not until I heard the name Athena Stanford.

A very handsome and notorious looking stranger entered the bar and the first thing he did was tell them how he claimed Athena as his and is keeping her.

This man definitely looked familiar so I decided to search for him through his photo or ask around and I was told that he was one of the Steele triplets, she went back to them she was now leaving with this Steele family she told me she would never go through.

This was all my fault, it was obvious she sold herself to them just to protect me, I need to find her and make her know she isn't in that much danger because of me.

I even became more aware about something else, the club I worked at belongs to one of the Steele triplets. This is perfect there is no way with the owner keeping Athena would I not see he, I thought to myself and also hopes and prayed it would be that way.

I continued to gather information on the Steele triplets each passing day, I won't give up on Athena but would continue to find her because I am still the one she is meant to spend the rest of her her life with.

Athena POV

"Logan". I called quietly after the long silence between the both of us.

"What, I saw you talking to Liam and it seemed like Liam was really enjoyed your conversation, it seemed like you two had known each other for ages which also surprising, exactly what I told you is what is coming to past. You and Liam and then Luke ". Logan said to me like he was feeling bitter about the words he just said to me.

"You don't have to make assumptions and think me and your brother are in love in anyway. We are just trying to get along and he is teaching me well on how to take on his footsteps" I said to Logan who chuckled loudly.

"That's the problem you aren't seeing Athena, Liam would never do that. I can't believe you can actually be this naive to believe everything said to you". Logan said pulling me closer to him with my shoulder which made me feel a bit awkward and nervous even his height was intimidating.

He slowly moved closer to me like he actually wanted to kiss me which made me remember the night we had sex together, how he have lure me into giving him everything.

"Logan stop". I whispered but he didn't stop instead he moved closer to me and pulled me too close to him with my waist.

"Logan I said stop!". I exclaimed pushing his face away, he stood away from me for a while before slamming his glass of wine on the floor.

"Why, because I made love to you. But you could freely allow Liam hug you or go up to Luke room for a stupid conversation, but I try to come close to you and reject me like a plague". He said looking more frustrated than he sounds.

"Because to me you are nothing but a plague". I replied emotionlessly.

"And why is that!!". He yelled making me shiver, what is wrong with this triplets they always like to scare the hell out of me.

"Because you took everything from me," I whispered.

"It's no big deal Athena, I can still be sincere about my feelings ". He said softly trying to touch me but I moved away.

"Should I tell Liam you are crossing the agreements you two made?". I questioned moving backwards while he just laughed.

"Liam can't protect you forever " he said.

"He would let you go sooner than expected," he added pointing his fingers at me like a warning.

"This trash is happening only because I saw Jaden Ravenwood In you". He said before kicking the broken glasses on the floor, stares at me one last time and then walks away .

Who is Armstrong?, she must be the lady he loved but Luke took her away from him,how can I look so much like her and where could this mysterious lady be, I know Amanda but I don't know who this jade lady is. This family just keeps getting more and more mysterious, and somehow I am always wrapped around everything that is happening to them, starting from Liam who wants to make me a member of their clan and his brothers aren't even aware of it and Luke who avoids me and Logan who is suddenly behaving possessive.
