Chapter Ten

Athena POV

Liam was right, I can't be labeled as weak. After agreeing to train and become a master at fighting , Liam assigned me to a new guard named Liam. I was taken into an underground training center where I was told the basics of becoming a fighter, it was now a week since I started a new life, I hardly saw Luke and I got to know from Liam that he was avoiding the mansion not to distract me and Logan was out of the country for a mission. Liam was only in the mansion because of me and I was really greatful about that or else I won't even be able to cope.

My weekend was going perfectly, I was trying to forget about all that happened to me, I couldn't find a place in my heart to forgive Logan or trust Luke but Liam always see med to be different from his other brothers and with that alone I was able to confidently stay around him and he also seemed to not he interested in me which always made me be at ease.

At ease not until a new face showed up in the mansion one morning while I was having dinner with Liam.

Liam had already told me everything about her arrival from Paris, Amanda Haverhill. She was Luke mistress, she is crazy over him and despite being busy friends with benefits she still doesn't want to let go and recently she claimed to be pregnant and refuses to abort it which makes her part of the mansion and she is back. This few weeks I had been training I learnt to never be weak and I won't disappoint Liam by letting Amanda manipulate me, if she tries to make my stay in the mansion hell, I would become the devil myself.

"I Am home! I Am home!! I Am home!!!" She yelled while the maids took her luggages in, she rushes up to Liam and hugs him tightly placing a kiss on his cheeks.

"I missed my brother in law so much ". She cooed looking at me weirdly.

"You haven't married Luke yet". Liam stated making me laugh but it came out as a chuckle before I could control it.

"I know but you are still my brother in law and mostly my favorite of the triplets". She said smiling.

"Who is she?". She asked, I knew it had been the only thing going through her mind but she was only trying to compose herself.

"My partner". Liam said making me choke on my drink.

"What!!!...Liam you can't have a partner" she opposed, I thought she was obsessed with Luke why is she so bothered about Liam Marital status.

"What do you mean by I can't, do you want to become a reverend father?" Liam asked.

"I mean she isn't the kind of person I expected to fall in love with, I was expecting someone more beautiful and classy. She doesn't look anything like classy she looks like a fighter". She said making me look at me clothes I more time, I was really dressed like a father.

"She just finished her training for the day that is why she is dressed that way". Why was Liam still support his statement of calling me his partner.

"Join us for dinner" Liam added. She stares at me disgustingly for a while before shrugging.

" I am still full,I would just head upstairs and relax, I still have a little neck ache from the long flight" she said heading upstairs.

"Don't mind her she is always that rude" Liam said to me but it sounded more like an apology.

"She is obsessed with Luke and that is the only reason I called you my partner,I can't let her know you are in this house because of Luke, she might just poison you in your sleep "he joked but it wasn't funny to me.

"Why do you stay with her if she is that desperate about Luke, just send her out" I insisted, I don't want to be murdered before my time.

"We can't send her out she is pregnant for Luke".

"That is not enough excuse fir her to still be in this mansion despite the kind of person she is". I said to him but he chuckled.

"Do you think if I had the chance to send her out I won't have done that since all this while". He questioned.

"She would always find her way back to this house no matter how hard you try so I am just trying to get used to her presence". Liam said while the servants who stood behind us came to arrange all the dishes and take it away since we were both done with our dishes.

"You said Luke loved me but with what I see here,this isn't love at all". I said to him.

"He loves you and do you know I still stand by my words, because for once he was not attracted to your physiques but instead your character and he adores you without a specific reason, that is what you call true love ". Liam said

"I don't see that as true love in any way, just imagine if you had agreed to sell me to him. I would just have to bear the fact that Amanda would be pulling my hair everyday and at night I would hear moans of different women in the mansion ". I said, Liam starts laughing to the edge of choking.

"You would have to bear with it and it seems like Luke wanted to marry you immediately I sold him to you". Why would Luke marry me without knowing me too well. What if I betray him or don't love him back just the way he loves me.

"Luke is crazy ". I commented standing up from my seat.

"Don't let him hear that, you have only seen the good side if Luke and not the bad side and it would be better it stays that way, good night ". Liam said going through his phone like he did not just give me a warning.

"Goodnight ". I whispered still reminiscing on all the words Liam just told me. Luke wanted to marry to marry me despite having a concubine, a lot of mistresses and baby mamas that would have .Ade me his legal wife against all the women in his life, one thing always bothered me though. Was Liam never interested in women or he just isn't the type who follows women around because they claimed Logan was an exception to Luke character but he still slept with me without thinking it twice,just in the name on of revenge.

There is so much to this men that I still don't know about and through Liam and this training I would know everything.

I already had a goal the minute I stepped into this mansion, to make the most out of all the opportunities that would be given to me just to become a better person.

I layed on my bed staring at the ceiling for several minutes and almost up to an hour and still couldn't fall asleep, I checked the clock and notice it was too late for me to fall asleep. I stood up from my bed and walked downstairs to the garden, it was quiet but yet refreshing and I was really enjoying my moment even before my moment got ruined I was already feeling it in me that someone would ruin it and when I turned around to know who was behind the footsteps it was Logan but today he was drunk and he looked absolutely breathtaking, this was the first time I was standing face to face with him without either being drunk or vise versa.

"Athena," he called moving closer to me, I thought Liam had assured me that Logan won't get anywhere close to me but Logan was always touching me and being the first guy to make love to me it felt awkward, I had so much hatred fir him that I couldn't explain and the more he acted like a pervert the more I hated him. He continued to move close to me.

"I didn't want to come back home but whenever I remember there is a woman named Athena waiting for me I immediately rush back home". He whispered, cupping my cheeks in his hands.

"How could my brother dare to fall in love with you, they were thousands of women but he picked an innocent girl like you". He continued, I couldn't say anything because I was still puzzled by all the things he was saying.

"And now Liam is protecting you, something that has never been heard of, Liam Steele protecting a woman and training her to be just like him, you are very lucky,the most powerful family in the country are protecting you and the most dangerous of them all is training you". What does he mean by most dangerous, is he trying to say Liam is the most dangerous of them all.
