Chapter 37

Serene's POV

I was jolted back to reality by Lourden's voice. Who was gathering everyone at a single place to play a game? I glanced at her as she was clad in a tight short red peplum dress which clung elegantly to her perfect body. She was a bitch but an extremely beautiful one.

Everyone gathered up the chairs and placed them where we were sitting in a row. Ayrden came and sat on the right side of me while Zeph was sitting on my left. As everyone was seated Lourden began to tell us the rules of the game.

" The game is called " Secrets " you people will be given a piece of paper with some questions on it. You have to answer them truthfully but anonymously. Once everyone has answered them, we will collect the papers and declare the joint results. The winner will be given prizes. How exciting, right, woooh. So, let's get started. " She announced as a senior began to hand over a piece of paper and pen to everyone.

I looked at the paper and the questions were as follows:

Who is the most handsome guy among juniors?

Who is the most beautiful girl among juniors?

Who is your favourite senior?

Who is the most good-looking senior?

Who would you want to be your girlfriend/boyfriend?

My first thought on reading this was what a bunch of nonsense and superficiality. Seemed like or should I say screamed like something Lourden would make. I was about to throw the paper away but Ayrden side-eyed me: "Don't even think about it, answer them. It's for fun, that's what parties are for. " She whispered to me.

" Ugggg, whatever "I began to think about what to write. I was also curious about what Zeph might be writing. He was staring at the paper uninterestingly while drumming his thigh with the pen. Finally, he crumpled the paper and threw it over his shoulder. Lourden saw that and came forward with another paper.

" No, no dear Zeph, everyone is supposed to play. So, you have to answer them. " She smiled sweetly at him. " Ok, whatever, " He took the paper from her hand and began to write as she stepped back.

I was still sitting there without answering them. When he placed his paper on top of mine. " You can copy my answers since it seems you are as lost as me on these stupid questions. "

I was perplexed as I stared first at him and then looked at the paper. His answers were:

1. Everyone

2. Everyone

3. Don't know them so well

4. Don't know, don't care

5. None

I let out a guffaw of laughter after reading his answers. He was looking at me intently and seeing my reaction he began to smile too. Ayrden was eyeing us to understand what was so funny.

" Never read something as funny as this. " I told him amongst the fits of laughter as I handed his paperback. He was properly laughing too now. "Well stupid questions deserve stupid answers." He smirked.

I jotted down similar answers and handed the paper back when the senior came to collect them. After reading everyone's answers, Lourden looked unhappy. " Well, it seems like some of you made fun of our game and didn't answer truthfully. It takes the fun out of the game if you don't play it properly. I am handing the papers again and please answer them truthfully. " She scowled.

We were handed the papers again. Ayrden whispered to me: " Please, write serious answers or she will keep us at this for hours. " Zeph excused himself and left to get something to eat before Lourden could corner him again.

I was staring at the paper in my hand. I wasn't sure what to write. But, then I had to get this done with. So, I wrote my answers with trembling hands:

1. Zeph

2. Ayrden

3. Zilver

4. Alvene

5. Haven't thought of it.

I had never given much thought to having a boyfriend. I imagined that was something which would happen gradually for me. Although I knew I was developing feelings for Zeph but not in my wildest dreams I could imagine him having feelings for me.

I folded and handed over the paper for the second time. Lourden and her friends read all the papers, but since they were anonymous no one knew anyone's answers or so I thought.

" Thank you everyone for answering. Time to announce the results. So, for the first question, Who is the most handsome junior? with the most votes winner is Zeph. " She clapped her hands as everyone tried to find him. But, he was nowhere to be seen. Ralph was jumping up and down from his seat in excitement and enthusiasm was evident on his face.

"Well, that didn't come as a shock, he is as handsome as one can get plus his brooding melts the heart of all the ladies." She winked and the crowd roared in agreement.

" Ralph, would you be kind enough to receive his gift and pass it on to him? " She asked as Ralph made his way to receive a wrapped gift and held it over his head while doing some dance moves as if announcing victory, sending everyone into guffaws of laughter.

" Moving on to the next question. Who is the most beautiful girl among juniors? and it's none other than my beautiful friend, Tanzil. " She shouted with excitement as Tanzil rushed towards her and hugged her before receiving her gift.

" How artificial are they? I bet they rigged the answers, you should have won this. " Ayrden whispered in my ear. I smiled and replied: " I don't care about this stuff, Tanzil is popular and very beautiful. "

"Moving on to the next question. Who is your favourite Senior? And our winner is, Zilver. " She announced and the crowd erupted with a thunderous round of claps, some even whistled. Zilver was laughing as he came forward to receive his gift.

" Next question, Who is the most good looking Senior? And, Oh My God. It's me. " As she fanned herself and put her hand to her lips trying to act emotionally. All her friends rushed forward to hug her while I rolled my eyes and looked at Ayrden who was already laughing.

" Thank you so much everyone for your votes, I didn't expect to win at all. I am so honoured. " She continued in her cute fake voice.

" Last question, Whom everyone wanna date? And, from the boys' side, the winner is Zeph and from the girls' side, the winner is awwww again me. " As jumped in excitement and her friends joined in while we sat there laughing.

" Ayrden, you were right. This is so much fun but in a different way. " I confessed holding back my laughter.

" Thank you, Lourden for that interesting game. " Zilver took the center stage from her. " Now, let's have another fun game which doesn't involve sitting. " He announced.
