Two months had slipped by like fleeting moments in the wind.
"I think there won't be any more customers, so I suggest we take a lunch break now," Taylor remarked.
Anna's smile in agreement, the two of them carefully closed up the store and headed toward a nearby cafe.
As they settled into their seats and placed their orders, the news flashed on the TV, broadcasting the fate of the two serial killers arrested a month ago: they have been sentenced to death for their gruesome crimes.
Anna couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief upon hearing the news. Taylor, a playful glint in his eye, teased, "Aren't you thrilled about the court's verdict?"
With a faint smile, Anna responded, her knowledge of the horrors she had endured silently resting within her.
Their food arrived promptly at the table. Anna's order was a delectable fettuccine pasta, while Taylor was served a sizzling beef steak. The delightful aroma filled the air as they began to indulge in their meal.
Anna couldn't resist stealing a taste of Taylor's delicious steak, and as she savored the flavors, Taylor watched her with a fond look in his eyes, appreciating the simple joy of sharing moments like this.
Amid the meal, Taylor's voice broke the silence, and he pondered, "I wonder what happened to the criminal's grandfather?"
Anna paused in her eating, lost in thoughts about Josh's grandfather, who had always been kind to him.
Taylor continued, "I read in the news that it was his grandfather who reported him because he had been slowly poisoning him." A look of concern crossed Anna's face.
Taylor asked, "What's wrong?" Anna replied, "His grandfather is someone I've known for a very long time. I think I should go and see him later this evening."
Taylor was a bit surprised to hear this and offered, "Oh, right then, I'll accompany you."
Anna didn't respond, deeply lost in her thoughts. After they finished their lunch, they returned to the store. Taylor managed the customers while Anna focused on restocking the items.
Taylor couldn't help but observe her as she worked, contemplating, "Why is she always like that? It seems her mind is always lost in thoughts."
At 6:00, Anna began to wrap up her work, telling Taylor, "I'm leaving for my tuition."
Taylor asked, "What about visiting Josh's grandfather?"
Anna replied, "Yes, I'll visit him after my tuition."
Taylor inquired, "What about me?"
Anna, sounding a bit distracted, responded, "What? If you need to leave early, feel free to go."
Taylor looked at Anna in surprise, and she asked, "What's the matter?"
Taylor said, "Don't you pay attention to me when I talk to you?"
Anna laughed and apologized, saying, "Okay, I'm sorry. What did you say?"
Taylor expressed his frustration, "I told you earlier that I'd like to accompany you to the grandfather's, and you agreed."
At first, Anna remained quiet, but then she said, "Okay, okay. After I'm done with the tuition, I'll come here, and then we can take a cab to his house."
Taylor questioned, "Do you know the address?"
Anna responded, "Yes, he told me before."
After that, Anna left. While she was teaching her student, the student's mother approached her and asked, "Anna, I want to talk to you."
Anna looked at the mother with a worried expression as they moved to the living room. The mother began, "Anna, you are like a very dear person to me."
Anna smiled, but the mother continued, "I have been observing you for the past month, and it seems like you aren't paying attention to your work. You're always lost in thoughts."
Worried, Anna asked, "Did you get a complaint from his school?"
The mother replied, "Well no, it's not about Nick. It's about you." She sighed and added, "I really care for you."
Anna remained quiet, attentively listening to the mother. The mother said, "I don't know what you are going through or what has happened to you the past months, but you have to overcome it."
Anna replied in a soft voice, "Thank you so much. Your words mean a lot to me."
At 8:20, Anna waited for Taylor outside the store as he was locking up.
As they waited for a cab, Taylor couldn't help but look at Anna. Feeling his gaze, Anna grew a bit uncomfortable and asked, "Is there something on my face?"
Taylor replied, "Yes."
As Anna touched her face to check, Taylor quickly added, "It's charm."
Confused, Anna asked, "What?"
Taylor grinned and repeated, "Charm, it's charm on your face."
Anna laughed and playfully hit him, saying, "You're always buttering me up, you clown."
They both sat in the taxi that had just arrived. After about 15 minutes, the taxi reached their destination.
Josh's house was located on the street next to Anna's, and Taylor had no idea that Anna lived in the same neighborhood.
As they got out of the cab, Anna proceeded towards Josh's house. She stood right in front of the small house, and her mind was flooded with memories of the suffering and trauma she had endured because of him. Overwhelmed, Anna felt a bit dizzy, and Taylor immediately held her.
Concerned, Taylor asked, "Are you alright?" He suggested, "I think we should come here next time. Let's leave for now."
Anna quickly responded, "No, I'm fine. Let's go inside." She sounded determined.
As they entered the house, a maid approached them and informed them, "He's not here." She continued, "He has been admitted to HS Hospital."
Anna nodded quietly and exchanged a look with Taylor. They both left the house.
Anna told Taylor, "I think you should head home." But he looked at her with a determined expression and asked, "Where are you headed?"
Anna replied, "To the hospital."
Taylor insisted, "You can't go there alone, especially when you're not feeling well. I can't let you go alone." Anna smiled and replied sarcastically, "Well, who are you to tell me what to do?"
Taylor gave her a serious look and said, "I'm someone who cares about you." Anna got lost in thoughts after hearing those words, as they reminded her of someone very precious.
They both took a taxi and headed to the HS hospital, which was conveniently close to their store.
After entering the hospital, Taylor decided to wait in the lobby while Anna proceeded to the administration desk to inquire about the grandfather's whereabouts.
The nurse informed her that he had been admitted to room number 102.
Anna then entered the elevator, feeling a mixture of nervousness and concern. When she arrived at room 102, she found the grandfather sleeping peacefully. She approached his bedside and gazed at him with sorrowful eyes, remembering the time when he used to be an active and healthy person.
Anna gently covered his hand with her's and whispered, "I hope you're okay." To her surprise, he stirred awake and held her hand, prompting her to move closer.
The old man, struggling to speak clearly, whispered to Anna, "I... I am sorry that you had to suffer because of me, my dear girl."
Tears welled up in his eyes, and Anna attempted to hold back her own. She replied, "No, you did nothing wrong."
As Anna's tears fell, the old man, with his shaky hands, tried to wipe them away. He continued in his fragile voice, "I never knew that he would turn out to be a monster. He was my only family." Anna kept crying as she held onto his hand.
Then, in a feeble whisper, the old man revealed, "Also, after I got admitted to the hospital, a strange man who said his name was Ken came to me." He went on, "He came to me and asked about you." Anna was taken aback by the mention of Porsche's friend, and she was filled with a sense of curiosity and concern.
The old man continued, "That guy told me to tell you that someone is suffering because of you and waiting for you and that you should meet him."
Upon hearing this, Anna knew exactly who that man was. Her eyes welled up with tears. She couldn't contain her emotions, and her tears flowed freely. The old man attempted to comfort her, but she was overwhelmed.
When a nurse heard Anna's cries and found her in such distress, she quickly rushed to the room and tried to console her. The nurse also called Taylor to come and help Anna.
Taylor hurried to the old man's room, and seeing Anna crying so intensely, he was taken aback. He immediately embraced her, trying to provide comfort and soothe her emotions.
Taylor took Anna out of the room, and she was still distraught. He led her to a quiet park where they could be alone.
They sat on a bench, and Taylor gave Anna the space she needed. There was silence between them for a few minutes, and then Taylor gently inquired, "I want to know who is the person behind your sufferings. Who is the person that is making your life miserable? Tell me, and I'll make him regret it."
Anna, with tears in her eyes, didn't immediately respond to his question. Instead, she asked Taylor, "Should you meet a person who is making you suffer very badly, or should you try to forget him?"
Taylor was surprised by her question and replied, " If that person is causing you pain, he should face the consequences."
Anna wiped her tears and clarified, "He did nothing wrong, but still, I suffer because of him every day."
Perplexed, Taylor asked, "Who is this person Anna?"
Anna hesitated for a moment and then replied with a heavy heart, "He's someone who got on his deathbed because of me."
