Chapter 42 – Settling in the Wild

Lilia frowned, her grip tightening on the hilt of her sword. "They're not going to make it without help," she muttered.

Theo nodded in agreement, eyes narrowing. "Time to step in."

With a swift motion, Theo and Lilia moved as one. Shaia leaped out of the way just as Theo took her place, sliding effortlessly into position. Lilia dashed forward to flank the beast from the opposite side, her movements sharp and precise. Their coordinated assault began, and the tide of the battle shifted instantly.

Theo's blade gleamed as he struck, careful to hold back the true sharpness of his third-grade sword. He knew his weapon was far superior to the first-grade swords the others wielded, and he couldn't afford to reveal it yet.
