Suzanne Trent didn't even realize she had been staring at Mason King for a while in a daze.
She had been looking at him intently for more than two minutes.
It wasn't until Mason King suddenly looked up and met her eyes that Suzanne quickly turned her gaze away, only to return it to him again, "If you're still busy, I'll just go ahead..."
Mason gestured with his eyes towards the sofa behind her: "Sit."
But Suzanne didn't walk away, nor did she intend to sit down. She merely glanced at the iPad and documents next to him, noticing a screen in his office displaying the surveillance footage from major areas of the company, including the front plaza where she had just been.
A conversation came through the computer, and Mason exchanged a few words with the person on the other end before saying, "Au revoir, monsieur."
As Suzanne heard this phrase, she saw him close the computer on his desk without surprise.
