"I wish to join the mercenary soicety"

The counter person looked up Long Jun from head to bottom and was quite surprised to see such a young man applying for the society

he then casually replied "Sure, to join our society you must proof your qualifications before we could issue your mercenary badge and the number of stars in your badge will depend on the mission you take.

The counter person explained that in order for a person to officialy become a mercenary, he/she must successfuly complete a mission given by the society. Qi condensation missions will be awarded a 1star badge, Foundation establihsment missions will be awarded a 2stars badge and so on.

Listening to the explanation of the counter person, Long Jun confidently replied "I want to take on your hardest mission", as he know that in the Azure Cloud Empire, the strongest mercenary is a 4star mercenary that is the equivalent of a Nascent Soul Cultivator

The counter person did not truly believe that Long Jun could finish the mission, as he could not recall any Nascent Soul cultivator who looks like Long Jun.

However, he still brought up the list of available Nascent soul missions and present it to Long Jun, keeping his profesionalism.

Picking up the list of missions, Long Jun read through the mission one by one before ultimately choosing the third mission.

Mission: Destroy the Black Eagle Bandits Hideout

Requirement: Nascent Soul cultivator

After deciding to pick the mission, the counter person then gave Long Jun the information related to the Black Eagle hideout and without wasting any more time, Long Jun immediately went to the location pointed on the map

The bandits hideout was located between two mountain peaks and the journey there took Long Jun almost an hour

Arriving at the bandits hideout, Long Jun could sense that there were more than one hundred bandits, and their average strenght ranges from late stage Foundation establishment realm and early stage Core Formation realm

After breaking through to the Nascent Soul realm, his divine sense improved tremendously and he could sense anything within the 100 miles radius.

"It seems I could complete this mission sooner than i thought..." Long Jun muttered to himself as a grin appeared on his face. Using his divine sense, he could tell that the strongest bandit in the hideout was only in the peak of core formation realm.

As Long Jun was busy gathering fame as a mercenary, a little problem arise in the Divine Chaos Sect

At the gate of the sect, stood a group of people that were lead by a core formation cultivator.

This group of people came from a Tier 2 sect that is located near the Divine Chaos Sect called the Thousand Sword sect

The Thousand Sword Sect is quite famous among the many Tier 2 Sects in the Azure Cloud Empire, as the sect leader of this particular sect is a half-step Nascent Soul Cultivator.

With such a strong figure leading them, The Thousand Sword sect became arrogant and decided to act as a leader around the region, forcing other sects to pay protection fees.

Just when the Core formation elder from the Thousand Sword Sect wanted to barge in tto the Divine Chaos sect, he was stopped by a defensive protection

"Hmph, do you think lousy formation like this can stop this venerable one?" The core formation elder said confidently, as he gathered his full strenght and launch an attack, attempting to destroy the formation in one go

BANG*

A loud noise erupted as soon as his fist landed on the formation, alarming the members of the Divine Chaos Sect and a cloud of dust appeared, blocking the view of everyone

The core formation elder had a satisfied smile on his face and was about to barge in to the Divine Chaos sect, but as the dust disappeared, he and the group of disciples with him were shocked to see that his attack had no affect on the formation

Furious with what he saw, the elder began attacking the formation continuosly

Inside the divine chaos sect...

"Are we under attacked?" Ming Huo muttered as soon as he heard the noice and a trace of panickness could be heard from his voice

The same reaction could be seen from all the disciples upon hearing the loud noise. With all the elders in seclusion and the sect leader away, it is normal for the disciples to be afraid from the current situation as the strongest person here is Ming Huo who was only a Foundation Establihsment cultivator

Fusing his voice with spiritual power, Ming Huo amplified his voice multiple times and slowly said "Calm down junior brothers and sisters, our sect is protected by a strong defensive formation"

Hearing Ming Huo words, the other disciples quickly calmed down.

Not long after saying those words, Yue Qing appeared in front of him and coldy said "Senior brother, should we go confront them?"

"Of course we should..." Ming Huo replied as his eyes turned cold, "even though the enemy won't be able to pass the formation, we still need to show them that we are not someone they could messed with"

The two personal disciples then made their way to the gate of the sect, where they found the shocked group of people from the Thousand Sword Sect

"Who are you people" Ming Huo said loudly, making his presence known

Hearing his words, the elder from the thousand sword sect immediately lashed out all of his anger and yelled loudly "How dare you talk casually with this venerable one, lift the formation right this instant!!"

"Pfft, senior brother who is this old man, hearing him call himself a venerable one made me sick hahahah" Yue Qing laughed and Ming Huo followed soon

The laughter of both disciples made the already angry elder became more furious as veins apperead on his face and his killing intent surged

"Good, very good!! Even brats like yourselves dare to make fun of me!!" The elder said angrily as he gathered his full strenght once again and strike the formation

However, the result stays the same and his attack had no affect on the formation

"No need to get so angry old man, even if there is 10 of you, you won't be able to destroy this formation" Ming Huo laughed looking at the pointless act that the old man was trying

"Heh, do you know who you are talking to? I am a powerful core formation expert from the Thousand Sword Sect, and our sect master is a powerful Half Step Nascent Soul expert. Do you think that this formation can stop him then?" The elder said

Although Ming Huo assumed that his master was someone stronger than the Nascent Soul Realm, he still did not want make major trouble for his master and he try to reason with the elder "Enough with this arguing nonsense, just tell us why you are here today"

Hearing Ming Huo words, the elder calmed down a little bit.

Although he boasted the strenght of his sect leader, the elder knew that the sect leader won't appear no matter what as he is currently in close door cultivation, hoping to breakthrough to the Nascent soul realm.

Seeing that the sect in front of him is protected by a formation that he a core formation expert could not destroy, he also calmed down and try to negotiate with the other party slowly

The elder then replied "As a new sect, you are bound to need protection, and we the Thousand Sword Sect are willing to give you the protection you needed as long as you pay up spirit stones"

"...." Both Ming Huo and Yue Qing were silent as this was not something that they expect to hear, but before they could answer the other party's question, a voice came from behind them

"Your protection is not needed.."
