Annoying girl

Brandon's POV

Finally, I'm back in my apartment after a few hours of such a boring journey. Dragging my suitcase lazily into the room, my eyes immediately find an unpleasant sight on the couch. That damn girl, what is she doing here?

"What the hell are you doing here!?" I immediately throw the suitcase in any direction, approaching her as she wakes up and sits.

"You're finally back." She turns to me and smiles, even reaching to hug my neck.

"Don't touch me!" I quickly push her hand away, then move back. "Get out, I don't want to see you here!" I glare at her and point to the door.

She sighs instead.

"Why? Why can't I be in my fiancé's room?"

"Since when are we engaged? Don't be ridiculous!" I hiss, gritting my teeth. "I've told you, I don't want any marriage between us."

"But you chose me in the wife selection contest you created!" she retorts with annoyance.

"I know that, but it was my mother who organized that contest!"

"And you agreed, right? So you should continue what should be continued!" She insists, then sighs as if controlling her emotions. "Come on... Why are you changing your mind so quickly... I know you're interested in me, we even danced after you chose me among dozens of girls..."

I furrow my brows, slightly disgusted by her words and the fake sexy tone of her voice, even her hands roaming around my neck and chest, luckily still covered by clothes.

"I've changed my mind, I don't want you!" I try to distance myself from her, but...

I'm thrown onto the bed and she immediately crawls on top of me.

"You haven't tried it yet, have you?"

"Hey..." I try to get up, but she quickly straddles my stomach and pins my hands to the bed.

"Sometimes intimacy can dissolve doubts," she says with a smile, but it's not sweet at all. She's like a bitch seducing her customer. How could I have to marry a girl like this?

"I know you have feelings for me," she says again, about to kiss me but I quickly release my hands from her grip and push her off to the side.

Rushing to sit up and move away from the bed, I look at her angrily.

"Do I look so disgusting to you?" she asks loudly. "Am I wrong to demand my rights as the girl you chose? Why are you discarding me just like that? Don't you think about how embarrassed I'll be in front of people who know that you chose me but in the end you just discard me?" She continues, her eyes welling up.

I exhale sharply, turning away, not wanting to hear her cries.

"This is the first time I've been treated like this... It's like an insult to me!"

"Aurora..." I shake my head and cross my arms. "I didn't mean to insult you or even discard you... I just really can't marry you... I've..." No, I can't mention Victoria, it would be very dangerous.

"What?" she asks. "Have you found another more suitable girl? But why are you being evasive? You should choose her, not me!"

"There's no other girl," I say as I walk towards the glass wall. "I just want to be alone... I feel like I'm not done with my past... so... I don't want to be with you, I don't want to make you a rebound... It would be bad for you."

"If that's your problem, I'll help you," she says sadly, maybe still crying. "I'll help you rise from your downfall due to your possibly unpleasant past... I don't mind helping you... I'm sure it will make love grow between us," she continues, making me smile thinly.

It's funny and hard to explain how she's so confident to lift me from despair. I can rise in my way, by getting closer to Sophia so Victoria has no reason to reject me.

"Brandon..."

She calls me again, but suddenly there's a vibration in my pants pocket. I quickly grab my phone from there, seeing a call from David, then answer it.

"David?"

"Boss, this is kind of dangerous," he sounds worried, making me curious. "Your mother... Um, she keeps asking about what you did after the party, she's asking about who met you after the party... It seems she's starting to suspect your movements," he continues.

I exhale sharply, imagining my mother's face constantly meddling in my personal affairs as if I were a 3-year-old who still needed to be controlled by her. This is insane, it could ruin my plans, ruin my dreams...

"So what did you say?" I ask.

"I didn't say anything, I just said that you chose to be alone after dancing with Aurora," he replies.

"Good... Never tell her that I went to Canada to chase Victoria. Never mention Victoria when she interrogates you again."

"Yeah... I won't do that, I know it's your big secret. But I'm worried she won't be satisfied with my answers and still be curious about what you're doing... I'm worried she'll fire me."

"No, no one can fire you except me!" I assert.

"Yes, but it will make me look very biased towards you... I'm worried your mother will pay someone else to be her spy because she no longer trusts me. That would be bad... If I'm no longer her confidant, then I can't help you provide information about anything she'll do to you." David explains, instantly making me anxious, and worried if there's a new person who will ruin my plans.

"Boss?"

"Uh... David..." I turn back to Aurora who's taking a selfie with her phone. "Then you should still be my mother's confidant. Just give her false information about anything I do here. Don't let her know about Victoria." I give the advice so quietly, worried Aurora might eavesdrop.

"Yes... I'll try to make her trust me."

"Just say I'm with Aurora now, so she won't be confused anymore."

"Alright..."

I end the call and approach Aurora who's doing a live Instagram. This is insane, I immediately move away from behind her, not wanting to get caught on camera.

"Anyway, I'm with the man who chose me at the contest party. We decided to live together!" she says with a smile, pointing the camera at me.

I quickly leave, avoiding the camera. This is so annoying, but I can't scold her now, it could make her embarrassed.

"Um, it seems he's shy... he's not really into cameras!" She says again, laughing.

I exhale sharply, choosing to sit back on the couch, covering my face with a pillow, trying to sleep because I haven't slept since last night, even my head feels very dizzy.

"Our wedding date hasn't been set... But we'll get married!"

"Yes, of course... it's a gift for me!"

"He's very rich and is starting a new branch in this city. We'll probably get married after he's not too busy with his work... Maybe he's busy preparing sponsors..."

"Maybe we'll get married in Paris or Hawaii... It's all up to me, he gave me the freedom to choose!"

Aurora's voice and her whimsical sentence truly disgusted me, and I immediately turned my body, covering my ears with a pillow.
