"No need, I'm quite comfortable!" Weilan offered a faint smile, "You don't have to show such concern. I fear that to others, it might seem as though I am being disloyal to my husband. I just want to live quietly, not in the spotlight."
When Lu Hechen heard her say this, his heart ached even more, and regardless of the inappropriate setting, he still whispered quietly, "Don't act on your emotions. If you're feeling down, talk to me about it, let it out, don't bottle it up!"
Weilan felt a soft twinge in her heart upon hearing these words, a mix of pain and chaos.
His concern, like a beam of light in the darkness, warmed her immensely.
Yet, the thought that this light could be stolen, not solely hers, jolted her back to reality. She chuckled and said, "Talking to you is fine, but not at this moment. Some other time!"
Lu Hechen was quite unsettled by her nonchalant response, acknowledging that the setting was indeed not right.
He said nothing more.
