A few minutes later her mother and sisters came back into the room, she tried to hide the Tablet but wasn't fast enough in doing so. "I told you she was the one who stole my Tablet mommy." One of her sisters said as she spot the Tablet in Kayla's hand.
"You had the Tablet all this time Kayla and you said nothing." Her mother asks in disbelief. "Thief." Her other sister said with her hands across her chest.
"Oh please, I didn't steal anything; it was my fiancé's money that bought this damn thing, so technically it's already mine, why are you all back here anyway?" Kayla asks rolling her eyes. "I spoke to your doctor on the way out and he told me that your transfer came through, I came back to tell you that you leave in the morning." Her mom said.
"Wonderful, I can't wait to see Ty." She said trying to smile but the cut on her right cheek stop her from smiling too brightly. "Uncle Ty isn't your fiancé, he is already married to aunty Janice." The older of the two said. "you can say whatever you want but the both of you wouldn't even know what a Tablet looks like if it wasn't for my Ty. He's only been nice to you because of me." She said in a nasty tone.
"We used to think so too but that was before he set us straight by telling us that you no longer influence anything he does." The younger one said.
"I used to be grateful to you for bringing Ty into our life but he said that he would have been in our lives even if he didn't meet you." Her mother said. "Oh really, how do you figure that?" Kayla asks.
"Because it was his mother and sister that witness to me and as faith would have it, I ended up in his mother's Sabbath class on my very first visit and we became friends even before they knew who my daughter was, so you can stop trying to take credit for him helping us because if it was left up to you we would never have seen a penny of the money that he gave you to give me." Her mom said sadly.
"That's because she stole it all, just like she stole my Tablet." The older sister said. "I didn't steal that money; I took it, just like I took this tablet because they all belong to me." Kayla snaps.
"You and these brats aren't my man's responsibility." She sneered. "You're right, we aren't and he could've stopped after you hurt him but he didn't and now whatever he does he does because he wants to not because he once dated you." Her mom states.
"I've heard him say that more than once, now give me back my Tablet, you thief." The older of the two demands walking towards Kayla but before the child could reach her Kayla flings the tablet on the floor, smashing it to pieces.
"No!" Her mother shouts in shock. "No, no, my photos, my videos, my games." Her sister cried bending down to pick up the pieces. "Why did you do that? You're so evil." The younger one shouts. She then hugs her sister. "It's okay, we have the same stuff so you can borrow mine," she said in a soothing tone as her sister got up still holding the pieces of her broken Tablet.
"Why did you do that Kayla?" Her mom asks angrily. "Because I felt like it," Kayla said, a wicked smirk on her face. "I know you're our sister and we're supposed to love you but I really don't like you right now." The older one said. "what do I care, I never like either of you." She said in a scornful tone.
"Girls please wait for me out in the hall." Their mom said and they left the room, with tears in their eyes. With a heavy sigh, she turned back to Kayla.
"So even after everything you've been through and even after God has been so merciful, he got you out of that situation and has given you a second chance, you still haven't changed, have you?" her mom asks shaking her head in disbelief.
"' I'll pray for you Kayla," she said turning to leave. "I don't need your stupid prayers. I've survived this long without them." She said turning her back to her mom. "Actually, Kay, you've survived this long because of them." Her mother said over her shoulder.
