“Right. Okay, here.” She folded them and then tossed them into the bag. “I’m excited.”

“Same!” I exclaimed as I rummaged through the bag, before pulling a slightly crumpled note. I could tell from the handwriting that it was Aria’s.

“What’s your previous experience with romantic relationships?” I read the note out loud before eying Aria curiously.

“Cute, but also clever.” I sighed as Aria leaned in with a sly grin. She was trying to make me answer while having questions she could wave away. Outplayed, at my own game!

“Well, this is my first date, so I pass it to you.” She was already emptying the entirety of the pork roast now. I hoped that their kitchen was well stocked.

“Fine.” I rolled my eyes. “I dated a few guys before, but none of us clicked. Sometimes I got a crush on them, only to find out that we didn’t work together. Other times I felt like they were dating me because they’d get the family inn, especially after my brother left for Mithil.”
