Hate and rescue at the same time(2)

Arrived at St. Mary's Hospital as quickly as possible.

Jane was taken into the ward, and the medication was quickly administered into her body. Gradually, the heat in her body subsided, and the restlessness disappeared along with it. Soon, she passed out.

John sat on the nearby sofa, his expression gloomy. "Check what medicine she was given and whether there are any side effects."

Mark Cooper gave John an annoyed look. "Is it really necessary to make such a fuss? I guarantee that the medicine will cure her."

John nodded and didn't say anything else.

The ward was quiet. Mark Cooper had been causing a commotion for a long time, intending to put on a big show for John. However, Gabriel Stone had been kicked by John, and he was probably disabled. He would definitely avoid Jane in the future.

"John, do you still have feelings for her?" Mark Cooper leaned back on the sofa and turned his head to look at John.

John calmly lit a cigarette and said, "To this day, that person has not shown up."

Mark Cooper knew he was referring to Jack's biological father.

"Tsk, Jane has hidden this person deep enough. She hasn't contacted or seen him in years, and there's no trace of him. She's quite skilled at having an affair."

John took a few puffs of his cigarette and then extinguished it on the coffee table. "I'll wait."

Mark Cooper frowned. "If that's the case, why not let Gabriel Stone destroy her?" Despite hating her and detesting her, he still wanted to save her.

"It's getting late. I'm going to see my daughter." John stood up and ignored Mark Cooper's question.

After instructing the nurse to look after Jane, Mark Cooper accompanied John back home.

That night, Jack was brought back to Jane's house and cried incessantly. For the second half of the night, Mrs. Xia stayed with him.

Mrs. Xia roughly understood what had happened from Jack's words and had been worried all night.

It wasn't until the next day, when Jane returned safely, that the two of them breathed a sigh of relief.

Jack rushed forward and hugged Jane, looking up at her and asking, "Mom, are you okay?"

After waking up in the hospital and feeling fine, Jane quickly checked out and went looking for Jack. She was disoriented and unsure where he had gone, but now that she had found him, she felt relieved.

"I'm okay, what about you? Why are your eyes so swollen?" Jane squatted down and touched Jack's head. He had changed into clean clothes and looked fresh except for his eyes.

"I'm fine, just worried about you," Jack pouted.

Jane smiled at him, "I'm okay now." She felt sticky all over and, once she was sure Jack was okay, she went to her room to take a shower. She vaguely remembered Gabriel Stone tearing her clothes and felt sick, so she washed herself several times. When she came out of the shower, Jack was already waiting for her with a cup of pear soup.

After drinking the soup, Jack asked her concernedly, "Mom, Jill's dad saved you, right?"

Jane tried to remember, but all she could recall was someone saving her from Gabriel Stone before waking up in the hospital.

"I think so," she said uncertainly.

Jack hugged her and said, "I wish I could grow up faster and be as tall as Jill's dad so I can protect you."

Jane chuckled, "You're already great, Jack." Without Jack's smartwatch phone, she wouldn't have had a chance to call for help last night.

The mother and son cuddled for a while before Jane changed clothes and went to work, with Jack insisting on accompanying her.

As they arrived at the office, Alice Garcia walked in with Jane's phone and said, "You left your phone at the restaurant last night."

Jane slapped her in the face without hesitation.
