Episode 4: Mixed feeling.

Samara popped her eyes open and waited for his next words. At that instant, he turned and stare at a different direction and all their eyes were focused on where he was looking at.

Samara felt uncomfortable, especially when that boy called Ben was intensely looking at her.

Ben whispered something to the person next to him, and a smirk could be seen on display by the corner of his lips.

"Those boys are talking about you." Vlad whispered to Samara, and she turned to look at him. She was surprised at first how he knew, but then her guess was right.

"I do hear whispers from afar, that's my gift." He stated and lowered his head.

"I see that's a cool gift, you know. Don't mind them, let them talk…" Samara utter and shrugged her shoulders. Vlad released a smile, and she smiled back before turning around.

"Everyone listen up! Your room number will only be called twice, if you still don't get it, that's left for you." The masked man said strictly. "Jake! I need you here, stop whatever you're writing." He added, and she tried to see who the person was.

Suddenly, the boy sitting on a desk stood up and folded a piece of paper in his hand, almost squeezing the life out of it.

All eyes were fixed on him as he marched to the front and the masked man gave him the paper he held. "You know what to do, right?" He questioned.

"Call out the room numbers." Jake replied and turned to look at the crowd. Samara felt her heart skipped, when he took his eyes off the paper for a second and looked into their direction. Jeez! She caught sight of his pointed nose and radiant blue eyes…

"The girls to the left, and the boys to the right." Jake ordered in a calm tone yet captivating.

Emily uttered some cursed words as she dragged her leg to the left-hand side and folded her hands under her breast. Jake began to call out the room numbers while the masked man picked one or two person fit to stay there.

Samara watched him from afar, he looked so calm as he called out the numbers. She felt he would be easier to make friends with Jake, especially when he has been in the school already, he definitely doesn't look like a newbie.

"Room 39." Jake yelled in a rapt tone, and the masked man pointed his hands at Emily.

"Write your name down and room number before I can show you your dormitory." The masked man spoke and Emily wrote down her name on a paper given to her. Then he showed her a passage she needs to follow to get to her room.

After an hour, Samara turned around and noticed just the two of them standing, most of the kids were given their rooms already. "Room 21." Jake called and spare them a stare while their eyes bore into each other's, but Samara quickly lowered her gaze as she felt her heart racing. What was wrong with her?

"You!" The masked man pointed his hand at Samara, and she marched forward. "That's your room number, write down your name here." He ordered and she did.

He didn't utter any more words, and she stood confused. How was she going to locate her room if he won't show her where to go to, huh?

Suddenly, she heard him speak. "Bella, I can see you." And all eyes roamed around the room, then a girl stepped out through the wall and Samara let her mouth wide open.

"Christ!" She whispered in shock, so many kids with different gift. She thought.

"This lady here was actually heading to your room, take her along with you. She is your new roommate." The masked man spoke and Bella marched towards her.

She was average, had gray eyes with long black hair. "Welcome home." She whispered to Samara, but she didn't know if she was supposed to be happy for leaving the orphanage into a new place she never knew exists.

Bella held her hand and began to drag her out of the hall. "You are going to like this place, but only if you keep to the rules." Bella whispered to Samara.

"What rules?" Samara asked slowly, while finding her voice coming out more like a whisper.

"All you need to know will be said tomorrow, worry not newbie." She said and chuckled, but Samara felt beads of sweat already forming on her forehead and her heart beating so fast. Why was everyone talking about tomorrow?

Her thoughts went wild, and it scares the hell out of her. "How long have you been here?" Samara managed to ask Bella as the thought flowed in her head. Don't she misses home? Did they forcefully bring her here, or she came on her own? Samara asked herself.

"I have been here for two years, ever since my parents had an accident and blamed it on me." Bella whispered, though her countenance changed, and her eyes became watery.

"Sorry about that," Samara muttered, and she shook her head.

"Is fine, I'm happy now, though I am far away from home." She whispered and tried to replace her woebegone expression with a smile.

"Where is this place?" Samara asked her again as unending questions popped inside her head and curiosity was getting the best of her.

"Calm down dear. You ask so many questions." Bella voiced out and then dive her hand into her trouser and brought a key. It was at that moment Samara noticed where they were, they were standing at a passage with so many rooms.

Bella opened the door and asked Samara to go in first while she followed behind. The room was dark, and she could barely see a thing when she stepped in.

"My bad, I don't like bright places." Bella spoke and turned on the lantern, and everywhere came to life. Samara flicked her eyes around, from the bright lantern on the table to the bed.

It was a medium size room with two beds and a closet. "Are you scared? You can seat in the bed." Bella voiced out and climbed into the other bed, obviously where she sleeps.

Samara plodded towards the bed and sat on it like she was afraid of the bedsheets, she bit her bottom lip and roamed her eyes around. Suddenly, they heard a loud knock on the door, and she flinched.
