Episode 2: Unknown

"This little girl should not be so hard for you to handle." The one who seem like the leader yelled at the men, and they lowered their heads.

One of them raised her up and placed her on his shoulder before walking out of the woods. Something was wrong, she knew it. She couldn't hear her voice, no matter how hard she tried to yell.

Who are these men? She tried to scream, but it came out as a yawn. Samara attempted to fight the men, but it was pointless, she got tired and decided to give up. The masked man walked up to the Reverend sister, and they began to whisper.

She was indeed behind everything. Who are they, and why was she trying to send them off along with the scary men? She felt so many unanswered question buzzing inside her head.

They got to the van and kept her inside, immediately, her voice came back. She was about yelling curse words at them when she noticed other kids just like her.

Few of the kids hands were tied and some just stared at her. The two men closed the van and stood against the door, the only way Samara could peep outside was through the window of the van.

"Let me go! I don't belong here!" She hollered while beads of sweat were beginning to form on her forehead.

She felt tired and exhausted already, just as the others were all quiet, she decided to save her energy and sat among them.

Suddenly, the van began to move, and the kids began to scream. "Who are you guys? And where are you taking us to?" A girl questioned, but there was no response.

"Damn you! Damn you all." She babbled in annoyance and knotted her hand into a fist. Just then, we heard a voice from the little speaker inside the van.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I advise you all to keep calm. We are taking you to a safer place- a place you can call home." He uttered and Samara recognize the voice immediately. It was the mask man.

"Take us back home, we don't need a new home." The girl yelled again, but he didn't utter a word. The other kids kept murmuring inside the van, and Samara sat quietly. There was no way she could stop the van, her powers were useless at that moment.

Suddenly, they drove into an unfamiliar environment and noticed a queue of young kids waiting outside. What's all these? Samara thought. She felt her heart beat race heavily as bad thought kept popping inside her head.

"Stop the van!" She heard a thick masculine voice say to the driver, and he parked the van close to a tree. The mask man stepped down, and Samara and the other kids stared curiously while watching his every move.

He moved closer to the kids standing on a queue, and Samara began to count each of them. They were twelve, and also, there was something off about them. The kids weren't looking scared or afraid of the unseen, they were all calm and at ease. What is indeed happening? This is totally crazy!

A man stepped out of the building that looks like an abandoned hospital, he marched quickly towards the masked man, and they began to discuss something no one was able to hear.

Samara bit her lips and wiped her sweaty hands on her cloth, she was feeling hot already and suffocated. "Hey! Move away from the window." One of the girls she met in the van said to a boy as she pushed him to the side.

Samara wanted to chip in, but decided to hold her peace. But the girl wasn't supposed to push the boy like he was some sort of trash. She thought and stared keenly at the girl, at that instant, she recognized her as the same person yelling earlier.

Emily noticed Samara's intense stare on her like she had something to say, and she turned to face her. "Do you have anything to say to me?" She questioned in a miffed tone, and Samara shook her head and faced the window.

"Emily, are we going to die?" A boy asked, and Samara swiftly turned around to see the boy shaking like a leaf as he wrapped his arms around himself. He was looking younger than any of them, more like a 14 years old boy.

"I don't know, stop asking me questions." Emily replied harshly and hit the van with her fist, which made a loud noise. She lowered her head and whisper, but Samara had no idea what she was doing.

Suddenly, Samara raised her head and look through the window only to see the masked man pointing his hands towards the van and the twelve kids began to walk towards it. They got closer and the door went wide open by itself, but the scary part was that, those inside the van couldn't move an inch, not until the twelve kids were in, and the door was close.

The kids knew what was going on, if not, they won't have entered the van with so much comfort. Samara thought as she widens her eyes and fixed her gaze on them while they look for where to sit.

Out of the blues, Emily grabbed a boy by the neck. "Where are they taking us to? Tell me everything." She yelled, but the boy tried to free himself from her grip.

"I don't know anything, our master just said the masked man will be our guardian from now on, so let me go." He fired back and placed his hand on hers and jerked it off him.

Emily reel and sat down, she placed her head on her laps and the van began to drive out of that premises. It was then that Samara noticed some kids she knew who stayed at the same orphanage with her, she was too distracted to notice them on time.

Samara moved towards the boy Emily spoke to and bend in front of him while he arched his brows and look beadily at her. "What's your name, please?" She questioned slowly, and all eyes fell on them.

"Vlad!" He whispered slowly, only to Samara's hearing.

"Vlad! Be honest with me please, do you have any idea where these men are taking us to? What did you master say they were taking you guys to?" Samara inquired as she scanned his face.

Vlad roamed his eyes around before landing them on Samara, who seems impatient a bit. "Our master said the government would try to kill anyone born with magic, and the only way we could survive was to go with these men-"

"You scumbag! And you just believe your master? What if he was lying to you?" Emily bellowed at him.

"This is none of your business, Emily, I am the one asking the questions and not you." Samara found herself yelling at Emily, she was beginning to piss her off with that attitude of hers.

"Go on Vlad! Don't you remember a specific place he mentioned? Like the town we are heading to." Samara asked calmly.

"I do. He said is a school where we get trained and be able to control our powers. 'The school of skulls and magic." He spoke and Samara felt sick to her stomach as the name alone sent shivers down her spine for the second time.
