CHAPTER 40: SAY YOU WILL BE MINE

Next month would be Zari's wedding day. I am happy and excited for her. She would be the first one who get married in our family. But I was the first who gave my parents their grandchildren. Even they have not meet them personally.
I do not regret even a single one because I am contented for what I have now. Besides, Colton and I are living together in one roof. He is so very supportive to my career. He is a great dad to our children. He never neglected me either, so my life is really great.
My phone rang while I was busy attending my babies' needs. It was Zari on the line.
"Hey, Twinny, what are you doing?" She spoke.
"Hi stranger, I'm at home with the twins." I replied. My babies were already fed up and they were busy playing with their toys inside the crib. It has been five months since I gave birth to my angels. Every day they were growing fast.
"Oh, how's my nephew and niece?" She asked. "I can't wait to meet them personally. I'm so excited." She giggled.
"Would you like to see them now? They're just finished eating." I asked.
"Yes, please. We just came from our venue to check everything." Zari excitedly told me. "I will change my call into video right now."
Without being told I did the same. "Oh! Wow, you are surely beautiful bride to be." I complimented her as I saw her on videocall. It has been months since the last time we saw each other even on video. She has a lot of commitments before settle down. Plus, the wedding stuff too.
"I am pregnant, twinny." She giggled. "6 weeks already."
"Wow! Congrats sis, I am happy for you." I said excitedly. "Wait! What about you wedding dress?" I suddenly asked.
"Well, it still can fit since it was not fitted style so it is okay. No problem at all." Zari smiled. "Besides, my wedding will be next month. A week from now so everything can fit accordingly."
"Yes, next week is you big day and I cannot wait to meet you all again. I miss everybody." I said pouting.
"Do not worry they misses you too. They can't wait to see you and the twins." Zari said. "Speaking of the twins, where are they?" She laughed.
I laughed as we forgot the twins. I soon let her see my little angels.
"Oh my gosh! They are giants so tall for their age." She blurts out laughing. "Oh my! I can't believe they were so big now."
"I know, me either. I am excited on your wedding too." I spoke.
"Me too, just be here early ok. I need you more in here." Zari is always extra sweet to us in the family. She always wants us to be all together. Well, we are all busy with our career plus the distance we live. It is rare to gathering together completely.
"Okay, we will be there a day before or earlier days on the wedding. I already file my leave of absence." I winked.
"Yay! Thank you, twinny." She gave me a flying kiss. "I got to go now. You must be busy now. See you soon. Bye, love you sis."
"Okay, bye, love you too." After talking to Zari, I began preparing for dinner. Colton would be here soon.
We were in the dining area eating dinner. He noticed that I was so quiet.
"Hon, what's wrong?" he asked. I love any of his endearment.
"Well, just thinking about going back home." I smiled. "Excited and nervous at the same time. Bringing the twins with me."
He was silent for a while. "Am I not included with your plan?" he seems angry with the way I say it.
"What? Of course, you are, we are going there together with our babies." I said because I know he feels like I will leave him behind. "Why did you say that I will leave you here? You are also invited to their wedding because Vince is your cousin."
"I thought because we do not talk about us. You are ashamed of me around you." He said with lack of confidence. I never see Colton like this, acted like he was not included in my plan. I know that we do not have mention about our relationship much. It does not mean I will ignore him about being part of my life.
"I know what you mean but I was not like that. You came into my life unexpectedly. We do not talk about status does not mean I will ignore our relationship" I explained. "You are special to them and to me that cannot change." I said as I stood up and hugged him. He hugged me back then kissed me passionately.
We pulled away for catching some air. He looked at me like he wants to say something. He took a deep breath after our eye-to-eye contact. He was nervous.
"I have been wanting to tell you for months now. But now, it is the right time to say it." He said as I got nervous thinking negatively.
I was thinking that he will leave me and the babies. Found his love to another woman even I am already his girlfriend. Or will he ask me that we stay as friends?
'What am I thinking negatively? Even we never go out on a date because of our babies and busy career especially him. What the hell am I thinking again? We already expressed I love you's..'
Shaking my head as I went back to Colton. He was talking to me like I could not hear what he was saying.
My mind interrupted as Colton keep on calling me. "Shana, Shana…"
"Huh! What? Did you say something?" I asked.
"You did not hear the words I say." He asked in confused. I shook my head saying no.
"What did you say? Sorry I was not paying attention." I apologized.
He shook his head and cupped my face then kissed me again. He pulled away and says, "Will you be mine? Say you will be mine… forever."
I feel like I mistakenly heard the words coming out from his mouth, or am I? "What?" that's all I respond a question.
