"I got a new haircut."

Qie Xieling's smile sank slowly before he abruptly turned to look at Luo Muchen. Seeing those puffed-up cheeks Luo Muchen chuckled internally. He raised his finger gesturing for him to wait and opened a sharpie before he started drawing something.

He raised the piece of paper and showed him what he drew. He pointed at the cute little hamster on the paper then pointed at Qie Xieling.

Qie Xieling, "..."

Hell no, if he didn't beat up Luo Muchen today then he wasn't surnamed Qie. With the loud screeching of his chair, he got up and Bo Ailun instantly knew things weren't good.

He pulled Qie Xieling back just as the teacher walked in to start class. She pointed at Qie Xieling while saying, "Class has just started and you are already causing trouble. Mr Qie, please stand outside until I let you back in class."

Qie Xieling couldn't help but rub the back of his neck as he walked out.

Soon Bo Ailun followed out as well because he had cookies on his desk still. The two besties were now standing outside which in hindsight was what Qie Xieling would much prefer to spend his time doing.

The two of them didn't seem remorseful as they played thumb wars. From where he was sitting Luo Muchen could see their heads of hair peeking through the window. He handed Bi Yu the drawing after stuffing the red ribbon inside his desk.

"Put this on the window for me please," he said and Bi Yu didn't ask any questions. She agreed with a smile and placed the drawing of the hamster facing the window. She tapped it lightly attracting Qie Xieling's attention.

The two boys looked up and saw that cute little hamster plastered on the window. Bo Ailun found it hilarious thus he burst out laughing but Qie Xieling almost exploded.

"This is all your fault. Why would you accept his snacks? Now I won't hear the end of it," he said while ruffling his hair.

The teacher sighed hearing the commotion outside. She stood by the door and pointed at the two before saying, "Go to the principal's office after class."

Qie Xieling, "..."

Bo Ailun, (QAQ)

The principal had already called his father to school so Qie Xieling couldn't leave after school. He was sitting in the office with the principal snitching on him.

Qie Ranzhe knew his son was playful and a menace but it was always in good fun. But in a serious setting like school, it was not acceptable. If his son kept this up then he would be spending more time in his schools having a meeting with principals than at work.

"I understand what you mean. I will discipline him accordingly," said Qie Ranzhe and he really did what he promised.

While suspended Qie Xieling learnt what homeschooling was and how it wasn't as fun as it sounded. By the end of that week, he was begging to go back to school.

So when he came back he was more well-behaved or at least pretending to be. The trick was never getting caught.

When he sat down he saw that Bo Ailun had a new haircut. He touched his hair with an ecstatic look on his face while saying, "Your hair is so soft. Let this desk mate massage your scalp for you."

Bo Ailun was just happy his deskmate was back. He missed him so much that he wailed pitifully after seeing him.

These two's little reunion was heard across the room and Luo Muchen also wanted a scalp massage. Maybe if he got a haircut too Qie Xieling would massage his hair too.

Now you are thinking, there is no way that Luo Muchen had a haircut just to get Qie Xieling to touch his hair, right? Wrong!

Because his mother wasn't around he had no one to stop him. Thank the heavens he was at least smart enough to call his mother's stylist and get a haircut.

The man cut his hair to perfection. The very next day Luo Muchen rocked into class with a fresh tape up haircut with heavy bangs. Because he was quite good looking this took the small class by storm. Who after that didn't want a haircut like Luo Muchen's? He got attention from everybody else except the person he got the haircut for in the first place.

After being ignored for two days he finally took the initiative to block Qie Xieling's path during physical education.

Qie Xieling stepped to the side to walk past him and Luo Muchen turned his foot to that side blocking him again. Qie Xieling moved to the side again and Luo Muchen followed him.

With a loud sigh, Qie Xieling asked, "What do you want?"

Luo Muchen pointed at his hair and said, "I got a new haircut."

"So?" replied Qie Xieling not understanding what was going on here. For the past two days that's all Bi Yu was screaming about and she was even calling Luo Muchen gege. Yeah, he almost rolled his eyes at this. It was just a haircut for heaven's sake.

Luo Muchen was at a loss at this point. Why was it so hard to be Qie Xieling's friend? Why? He just wanted Qie Xieling to touch his hair like he touched Bo Ailun's. Was that too much to ask? Why were they treated so differently?

Just as the feeling of defeat was overwhelming him Qie Xieling suddenly said, "It looks good on you," before walking past him.

Luo Muchen showed a slight smile while turning his head to look at Qie Xieling's disappearing figure. But his happiness didn't last long. That's because Qie Xieling said the very same thing to the girl who sat in front of him in class.

She had cut her bangs and they looked really good on her. Without putting in any effort to get that compliment she got Qie Xieling's praise. She was so happy that she gave him her eraser shaped like sushi and Qie Xieling liked it so much that he kept using it all the time.

If Luo Muchen was mature he would have let it go. It was just a stupid eraser anyway and Qie Xieling would probably get over it after a week.

Turns out he wasn't mature at all. That eraser went missing soon after and Luo Muchen got rid of the evidence. In place of it was an eraser shaped like a stormtrooper's helmet.

Qie Xieling liked it so much that he took it with him everywhere. If only he knew who gave it to him.
