-In my suitcase – Compartment 7, Special Room-

"Well, I can't say the cabinets are 100% functional," I said, looking at the two Vanishing Cabinets in front of me.

One of the cabinets had its doors open, and inside it was a crystal ball, but if one looked closely at the crystal ball one would notice that there were some small defects in it, such as the fact that in the center of it there was a small crack.

The problem with this is that when I placed the crystal ball in the other cabinet it was intact and in perfect condition, however it seems that traveling through the cabinets somehow ended up causing some damage to the object.

If teleportation through the cabinets managed to crack a crystal ball from the inside, I don't even want to imagine what travel would do to a living being.

Closing the cabinet door again with the crystal ball inside, I ran my wand over its structure, and then I felt the cabinet's magic activate.

When I felt that the other cabinet also activated its magic I opened its door, only to find the crystal ball inside it. Picking up the crystal ball I started to look at it intently.

"Hmm, luckily sending the crystal ball back didn't end up destroying it... But I think the crack that's inside it ended up getting a little bigger," I muttered, looking at the crystal ball in front of my face with an analytical glint in my eyes.

"Well, I know the Hogwarts cabinet only had to be fixed by Malfoy in sixth year because Peeves had broken it, but since I managed to get it before that could happen, so it's probably working perfectly," I muttered, rubbing my chin as I thought about it.

And to confirm my supposition I turned on my Magic Vision and looked at the cabinets.

"Sigh... The Hogwarts cabinet appears to be in perfect condition, and its magic is strong and consistent, so I can only assume the problem is with the Borgin and Burkes cabinet," I said to myself.

The magic of the cabinet I bought from Borgin and Burkes was a little weird, as if it didn't know what to do. The magic in the cabinet seemed to be looking for something, and looking at the Hogwarts cabinet I saw its magic reaching out to reach the other cabinet.

"Looks like the Borgin and Burkes cabinet isn't able to locate and connect with its pair, at least not completely." I said, "That explains why the crystal ball cracked, it probably suffered some pressure in the space travel while trying to find the other cabinet"

Looking at the cabinets a little more and doing some more testing I realized that my assumptions were correct.

I then took a book that was on a table behind me and opened it to a specific page, which talked about the workings and structure of a Vanishing Cabinet.

"Now that I know which cabinet to fix I just need to study it a little and read your manual, after that I can fix it and then the cabinet will be ready to use," I said, closing the book in my hands.

I already had a plan on what to do with the cabinets once I fixed them. I intended to put one of the cabinets in the Room of Requirement or the Chamber of Secrets and the other would be in my suitcase, so I would have a ticket to go to and from Hogwarts whenever I wanted.

And so now it was just a matter of time before I could do that, but I wasn't going to fix the cabinet right now, as there were other things I needed to do.

Waving my wand I levitated the cabinets and all the furniture around me to the corners of the room.

With ample space to myself, I stood in the center of the room with my wand in hand, taking a deep breath and concentrating.

"I hope this time I can cast this bloody spell" I said to myself.

I then started to remember all the happy and joyful moments of my lives that were in the back of my mind, where I had fun with my friends, played and chatted with my dads, helped my moms in the kitchen, and taught Cele.

All of these emotions brought about large amounts of positive emotions; Love, joy, longing, happiness, pride, and hope.

Every memory that came to my mind brought a smile unconsciously to my face, and with these strong emotions I started to pull and move my magic that was inside me, passing it through my body.

The magic passed through my entire body, coming from my chest, my head, or more precisely my brain, and heading towards my right hand that held my wand.

I could feel it all naturally, but most of my attention was on my memories, memories that I kept with great affection and love in my mind, especially those of my old life.

When I felt my magic reach my wand, I raised it, giving it a long and beautiful turn before pronouncing the incantation.

"[Expecto Patronum]!"

As I said the incantation in a firm yet smooth voice, a silvery mist began to rise from the tip of my wand.

The mist carried with it many positive feelings... My positive feelings.

Just the presence of the mist was enough to bring calm and happiness into the room, and I was sure I could ward off some Dementors with it.

However, what I wanted was not just a mist to protect me, but my guardian spirit to protect everyone.

I wanted to find out which animal my Corporeal Patronus would take shape, but it wasn't just out of curiosity, but because of a feeling inside me, a feeling that wanted the answer to my question.

Gathering all my emotions and my magic, I continued to strengthen my Patronus, watching the mist grow and expand by the second, and in a moment the room was fully lit with the silver light of the Incorporeal Patronus.

"Let's go! Just a little longer!" I said to myself, feeling that I was almost there, and that only a thin barrier was stopping me.

I could feel inside me that my Patronus was almost complete, but for some reason it refused to form.

'Please just a little longer... I know you want to go out as much as I do buddy, so just wait a little longer' I thought.

"We're almost there..." I said, trying hard to keep the spell.

The silver mist then continued to increase, and now I couldn't even see the room as the only thing that filled my vision was a pure white glow.

But just as it appeared, the mist and silver light disappeared, returning to my wand and dispersing into the air.

"Damn it!" I swore, realizing I'd failed just like the other dozen times, "I was so close. I could feel it," I grumbled.

I then lowered my wand arm, with a myriad of thoughts and questions running through my mind.

"I know and feel that I am almost able to cast my Corporeal Patronus, but at the same time that I'm so close, I also feel the barrier holding me back getting firmer," I said, letting out a weary sigh.

'Each training and attempt is progress, but with each progress I realize how much harder it will be for me to cast this spell' I thought.

Shaking my head then to clear the thoughts from my mind, I started to raise my wand again.

'But well, I guess there's not much left for me to do other than keep trying' I shrugged with a small wry smile on my face.

"Sigh... Back to training then," I said, pulling back my happy memories and my magic.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-Some time and many attempts later...-

"Well it's official, I can't cast a Corporeal Patronus" I said taking a deep breath to catch my breath.

For the first time in a long time I couldn't master a spell on my first few attempts, and this bloody spell also managed to tire me out and drain my magic, something that only happened to me when I was younger and was learning to control my magic.

"Why do I feel like I'm back to square one?" I asked myself, "I've been trying to cast this spell for years, but no matter how much I improve at it or how much my magic power increases, I still can't complete it."

Now I was pretty sure there was something preventing me from casting the Corporeal Patronus, and I didn't know if the problem was external or internal.

The problem could be my wand, but even with wandless magic I can't cast the spell at its full power.

The problem could also be the timing and lack of reasons for my protective guardian to graduate, but in that case, how did the DA members manage to conjure their Corporeal Patronus in their fifth year with less than a year of training?

Not knowing if the problem with my spell was due to some external reason, I started to think that it was probably me.

Maybe my magic is corrupted, but that couldn't be the reason since I can cast the Incorporeal.

Maybe my Beast Power is interfering with the spell.

Maybe I-

Wait...

"Fuck" I grunted, palming my forehead, "How could I not think of that? That is the most obvious reason"

"Beast Power is a power that from what I've discovered so far basically gives my body and magic the abilities and characteristics of other animals and creatures, and the damn Corporeal Patronus creates a magical guardian that is a creature closely linked to the spell caster" I said to myself.

"If I'm basically connected with many, if not all normal and magical creatures, how the hell is my Patronus going to be able to transform into a specific creature?" I wondered, and this time I let out a weary sigh, resisting the urge to bang my head against a wall.

"I've trained and tried to cast this spell so many times, only to find out now that my problem with the spell and casting it is probably because of my special ability... Damn luck"

With myself coming to that conclusion, I sat on the floor in the living room, both physically and mentally exhausted.

"Well, at least now that I think I've figured out the problem, it's going to be a lot easier to find the solution," I muttered.

...

...

...

"Wait a minute... If I have problems casting a Corporeal Patronus because of Beast Power, doesn't that mean I'll also have problems if I try to become an Animagus?" I said to myself.

...

...

"...DAMNIT!"

End.

(End AN: It's really sad to see that it's hard to find good fanfics on this site and that most with good ratings are +18 with lots of lemons and smut.

But that only makes it even better when we find good fanfics with the genres we like. It's like finding a diamond in a coal mine)
