The Outbreak

Isaiah woke up to his alarm. He groans as he turns it off and gets out of bed. He heads into his bathroom and takes a shower and goes to the bathroom. When he comes out with a toothbrush in his mouth he enters his closet and pulls out some clothes and walks back into the bathroom. He exits the bathroom in the clothes he grabbed earlier and throws his pajamas on his bed before heading downstairs. He sees Spade downstairs drinking a cup of coffee and watching the news. "Morning Spade." "Morning Isaiah." Spade replies as he looks up from the TV and smiles. "Anything interesting on the news?" Spade turns the tv off and heads towards the kitchen. "Nah, just the same old news about weather and the incident in Japan." Spade pulls out some waffles and hands them to Isaiah. Isaiah takes them and puts them in the microwave. "What are we doing today?" Spade refills his cup of coffee and takes another sip before responding. "Well we have to meet up with the other to head to the arcade and I am pretty sure you have to go on a date today." Isaiah facepalms and sighs. "I forgot about that." Spade finishes his coffee and puts his cup in the sink. "You know how Madison gets." Isaiah took his waffles out of the microwave. "Yeah yeah I know. She tied me to a chair last time I missed a date." Spade started washing the dishes as Isaiah finished his breakfast. When Isaiah finished they both grabbed their shoes and left the house.

As Spade and Isaiah walked through the city they got a notification on their phone. "Woah what's this?" Spade replied as he showed Isaiah his screen. Isaiah looked down at Spade's screen and eyes widened. "The president is doing a special broadcast? Why is he doing that?" Isaiah asked as he pulled out his phone. "We should head back home." Spade requested and Isaiah nodded.

They raced back home and turned on the TV. Their screen was taken over by a loading screen. "The broadcast is starting!" Spade called out. Isaiah came running into the room carrying a bottle of sweet tea. "Good morning my fellow citizens. We have a problem. The incident in Japan has begun to spread worldwide. Scientists have informed me that in an estimated 5-7 days the virus will reach America. The virus is a digital virus that is very dangerous to humans. The virus will cause a noise that will cause you to lose control over your body. I wish you all to be safe and get rid of any electronic devices. Phones, TVs, Smart Watches, Tablets, Smart Fridges, etc. Stay safe and no this is not an April Fools prank." The broadcast turned off and Spade and Isaiah looked at each other. "Well what do we do about it?" Spade asks as he looks around the house nervous. "Come on man you can't seriously believe this right?" They heard a knocking on their door and Isaiah went to go get it. He saw CI standing outside. "Hey man, what's up?" "Did you hear the broadcast?" "Of course we did. You don't believe it, do you?" CI didn't respond, he just looked behind him. "Aiden and TJ said they are worried that the president isn't lying. It's also suspicious how now one knows what's wrong with Japan." "Exactly and our president just happens to know the answer." CI sighs and looks at the ground. "Just in case this is real. Meet us at the BloodWood forest at 5:00 Pm. Pack your things and any essentials. No tech. Also bring a watch." Isaiah rolled his eyes and closed his door. "Who was at the door?" Spade called out about to head up the stairs. "It was CI. He said to get ready just in case this thing is real. I doubt we would have to worry. "Should we pack anyways, you know just in case?" Isaiah rolled his eyes at Spade's question and shrugged. "Yeah sure whatever."

For the past 5 days everyone waited carefully for the president's message to come true. When 6 days passed and nothing happened people just assumed it was an april fools prank. Sadly on day 7 that they were proven wrong.

Isaiah and Spade were chilling in the living room. Isaiah was writing a story and Spade was reading a book. Loud screaming was heard from outside. "What the heck was that?!" Spade yells, Isaiah and Spade run outside to see people in panic. CI runs towards them panting carrying a suitcase and backpack. "Guys the broadcast was not a lie. Cover your ears, grab your stuff and let's go." Spade and Isaiah obeyed CI's commands and came outside with their stuff. CI was waiting for them as he loaded a pistol. "Bro really?" Spade asked, watching CI finish loading the pistol.

CI pointed down the street as someone about 6 feet away was screaming covering their ears. Their hands fell from their ears and a weird substance dripped out of their ears and they fell to the ground. "Was that his brain?" Isaiah asked as he watched in horror. The person then stood up and started twitching. It noticed them and ran towards them screaming. "Of course they can run." CI mumbled under his breath as pulled out a different weapon. He pulled out a scythe and cut the person's head off when they got too close. "Why do you always have that with you?" Spade asked, crossing his arms. CI looked towards Isaiah who was carrying his katana. "What, you have your Chained Blade." Isaiah points out kicking Spade's suitcase. Before Spade could respond CI cut him off. "Can we go now?"

Isaiah and Spade nod and they head towards BloodWood Forest. They arrive at a clearing and see Aiden and TJ sitting near a tree. "This place brings back memories." Isaiah remarks as he walks over to a tree and feeling the bark. Isaiah runs from tree to tree till he comes across a cave. He stops and freezes. The others walk up beside him and Spade puts a hand on his shoulder. "This is the cave where I grew up." Isaiah slowly walked into the cave and felt the walls. Isaiah sheds a tear and walks back out towards the rest. "Alright so what just happened?" Aiden leads the others to a place where they can sit down before he begins. "So Japan was hit by a virus which slowly spread all over the world. We were the last place to be hit. So the president says that all electronic devices that can produce sound cause a sound that will mess with your brain. After 30 seconds it seems like the people become infected and they are under control of the Virus." "Well how do we get rid of the virus?" TJ asks as he leans against the tree. "I don't really know, but we might find out the answer in Japan." Aiden responses. Isaiah climbed down a tree he climbed and stretched. CI came from around a tree and sat down. "Perimeter is clear of infection or any human life except for us." CI says as he stretches before he relaxes. "Well we're gonna need to prepare for our survival." Spade said as looks through his bag. "He's right. We're gonna need a place to call home and a shelter to survive in." Aiden replies as he searches his bag. They all searched through their stuff and pulled out a few camping supplies and Isaiah pulled out an ax. "What? You guys don't have an ax?" Isaiah looked around as he got stared at from everyone. CI and Isaiah gathered wood as everybody else tried to work on a place they could settle.

Months passed by as the gang worked on upgrading and working on their shelter. Aiden and TJ took notes and documented the infected and how they act. Spade and Isaiah worked on patrol and keeping the place safe. CI did a mix of working with Spade and Isaiah and helping learn information or running errands for Aiden and TJ. Isaiah usually complained about how boring patrol was and today it seems like something is gonna happen to quench his thirst for action.

"Hey Spade, you found anything?" Isaiah called as he hung upside down from a tree branch. "No man. Now get down so we can get this over with." Isaiah sighed and jumped off his branch and landed beside Spade. "What is that?" Spade pointed past a tree on their left. Isaiah squinted and saw something standing in the forest. "That's suspicious." Isaiah responds as he pulls out his sword. He quietly started to approach the weird creature. Spade climbed a nearby tree and watched the creature. Isaiah slowly entered a bush and he got a full view of the creature and he almost threw up at the sight of it. The creature was what looked human but his skin color kept flashing different colors, his hand was bent backwards and his eyes were replaced with error symbols. His legs were backwards and he just groaned and moved up and down. Spade threw up in his mouth and this caused him to drop a branch. The branch landed on the ground startling the beast. It turned around and Isaiah and Spade saw that its chest had a giant hole in it but it looked like a mix of all their organs were mashed together into the center of their chest. The hole was covered by a transparent piece of metal. The creature got on all fours and rushed towards the noise. Once there it picked up the branch and examined it. Spade dropped on its head and stabbed it in the eye. It roared loudly and grabbed Spade and threw him against a tree. When Spade landed on the he groaned as he struggled to stand. The creature slowly approached him. Isaiah jumped from the bush and stabbed the creature through the chest. Isaiah saw the creature's blood seep on his sword. The creature screamed loudly which caused Spade and Isaiah to cover their ears. The creature pulled the sword out and threw it away. The creature picks up Isaiah and slams him multiple times into the ground until a flying knife lands in its other eye. The creature screamed and covered his eyes. CI appears out from the trees and cuts off one of the creature's arms with his scythe and lands beside Isaiah's sword. He grabs it and throws it at Isaiah who is now above the creature and stabs it in the face. Spade flinged his knife through the hole Isaiah made and into the creature's core which caused it to fall on the ground. Isaiah pulls out his sword and backs away as the creature starts flashing different colors. It started with pink and slowly turned into purple which as each color passes it slowly picks up speed. "GET DOWN!" CI yells as he dives behind a tree and the others follow suit getting behind something as the creature turns red and explodes. Its limbs left on it shoot into multiple directions. Isaiah saw the head roll towards him and he threw up on it. "Have you never seen one of these before?" CI asked as he walked over towards him with Spade behind him. "I don't know how you can stand seeing these everyday." Isaiah mumbles as he swipes his mouth. They return back to base as Aiden begins to rapidly ask them questions. "Man, calm down. We have bigger problems." TJ reminds Aiden who was starting to calm down. "That scream that we just heard has alerted a lot of these creatures towards its location. We know this information because one of them fell for one of our alert traps. I need you three to go and stop any of those creatures from getting too close to home. Who knows what will happen if they do?" The three nodded and ran back out to the clearing. When they arrived they climbed into different trees and watched as more humanoids who look different except for the hole in the chest. A bigger humanoid which looks like a ogre entered the clearing and inspected the body. It looked around and then tossed the body away. As it walked out of the clearing the other creatures followed it and so did Isaiah, Spade and CI who jumped from tree to tree trying not to make too much noise. The Ogre stopped walking and so did everyone else. It grabbed a giant tree branch and it grabs Isaiah out of the tree and hits him with the branch so hard he goes crashing into a tree and it breaks. Isaiah struggles to get up as he is rushed by the humanoids. He grabs his sword and stabs on of them in the chest destroying the core and slices the arms off another one before throwing a knife at the core of another one of the humanoids. Spade easily handles the humanoids killing them on by one. The Ogre quickly gets behind Isaiah and swings at him but Isaiah ducks and jumps on the Ogre's shoulders and drops a grenade down his throat. The grenade blasts a hole in the Ogre's chest and Spade flings a knife into it's core causing it to scream. They all covered their ears while the Ogre used to last off it's energy to grab Isaiah and try to squeeze him to death. CI cuts the Ogre in the leg causing it to go off balance which gave Isaiah the opportunity to escape the grab and push it on it back. The Ogre falls over and dies. A explosion happens behind both of them knocking them to the ground. "Ew. I got blood all over me." CI rolled his eyes and helped Isaiah stand up. Spade brushed himself off and stretched. "What do we do know?" Spade asks as he steps over the bodies. "We head back. I have a feeling we are gonna have to make a move soon." Isaiah, Spade and CI headed back to the camp and saw Aiden pacing back and forth outside.
