The Cliché of the Damsel in Distress

In front of me was a scene straight out of an anime. I was facing the typical Ecchi anime cliché.

Delinquent #1: "Hey, do you want to hang out with us? Don't worry, I assure you, you're going to enjoy it."

Delinquent #2: "Oh, as expected from Dai-san, as always you have very good taste in women, just look at her, she's a cutie."

In the street there were seven subjects that had clear appearances of delinquents, they had messy school uniforms, messy hair, some even had several piercings, from what I can see the seven have cornered a girl.

The one who spoke was the one who apparently everyone called Dai, just like the others he also had messy clothes, if there was something to point out, it was that unlike the others he was handsome, I guess in the term of women he would be Ikemen.

This is one of the most famous situations in Ecchi anime and romance anime, a beautiful looking girl is stopped by a group of delinquents, the girl instead of defending herself, ignoring them or running away, she freezes in fear while the delinquents look at her with perverted eyes, and just when the situation seems desperate the protagonist bravely arrives to rescue her.

This is basically a cliché that is almost obligatory in anime of these genres.

Dai: "Come on, don't be boring, I assure you that you're going to enjoy this as much as we are."

When the girl tried to leave, the delinquents stood in front of her, and the guy named Dai held her wrist tightly.

???: "Ugh.... T-That hurts... I-I mean it... I-I really... I have to go back... A-A home..."

At the girl's struggling the delinquents moved closer and closer to her as they laughed.

With curiosity I looked around, and saw several of the people walking through the streets, at the end they had the typical behavior that the background characters would have in this situation, they just walked while they looked away as if nothing of this situation had to do with them, some even started to record shamelessly while they laughed.

I'm not going to lie, something about this situation infuriated me, and no, it wasn't the delinquents, those guys were nothing, they were even weaker than the wolves in the bento fights.

No, what infuriated me were these people acting indifferent to what was happening.... They were so... Weak... They were so petty that it made me want to throw up....

I think after seeing this I understand the Ogre a little bit, these weaklings are disgusting, I bet if it was them being attacked by these delinquents they would just submissively throw themselves on the ground while being beaten.

I am conflicted, part of me wants to beat all these people to a pulp and another part of me thinks they are not worth it.

Fed up with this stupid farce I decided to intervene, until something happened that surprised even me.

Sincerely knowing how cliché this situation is, I thought that at some point the hero who would bravely save the damsel would show up... But... unexpectedly this hero is quite small...

Dog: "Wow... Wow..."

Faced with this desperate situation, a small Boston terrier dog bravely appeared, stood in front of the girl while barking with the intention of protecting her from the delinquents. The dog was small with a compact build and square features. It had a flattened muzzle, similar to that of a Bulldog, but no folded skin. Its ears were small and erect. He also had large, round, dark eyes, set wide apart from each other. Its tail was short, as were its limbs.

Amused at the scene, all the delinquents burst out laughing while watching the dog, and they weren't the only ones, even the surrounding people were laughing.

Dai: "Okay... So you're saying that if we don't do anything to your dog, you're going to do everything we tell you..."

The girl still crying while hugging her dog replied.

???: "Yes I will do anything! But please don't hurt him! Maron is an important member of my family!"

Amused by the way the girl was crying while pleading, they decided it was time to stop playing games.

The Delinquent with a stupid expression, reached out his hand to touch the girl, but what he didn't notice was that behind him was someone standing.

The other delinquents didn't notice either, they were so ecstatic at the idea of doing perverted things with the girl that they didn't notice, besides they were used to people ignoring them when they did these things.

When her hand was only inches away from touching the girl's breasts, it was forcefully grabbed by another hand.

Just like the other delinquent, their apparent leader named Dai also began to screech pathetically, he even started to start crying and pleading while looking at Kenichi in terror.

No longer caring about the existence of that guy Kenichi spoke again.
