What now?

Logan: "Well, Glynda's gonna make my life hell for this" Logan grumbled to himself as he found himself staring at fluorescent lights that lit up the white room he was in.

Logan had awoken inside a hospital room designed for those under hospital arrest. As in, the window to the outside world was reinforced and unable to be opened for one. Another was that the window into the hospital was reflective like a mirror and black, easily showing that it was a one-way mirror. And lastly, the door to the hospital was steel and heavily reinforced to keep whoever in. Logan wouldn't have been surprised if there was a team of Vale's police on the other side watching the door too.

The biggest surprise was that he wasn't strapped to the gurney and there were clothes and shoes on a nightstand next to it. After getting dressed, Logan made his way over to the window. Outside, a mob was in front of the hospital. And a good portion of them had signs, but Logan couldn't read them from his angle.

Logan: 'Why do I have the feeling that Vale's council released my mission records?' Logan thought to himself. "I wouldn't be surprised if they even gave out the few things that were 'off-the-books' were given out as well' Logan laminated.

Logan signed and tried to open the door, hoping at least he could get out. Thankfully, the door was unlocked and no one was behind or guarding it. Once out of the room, Logan walked to where a nurse station would be and found it empty. After a quick search turned up no timetable for any sort of patrol. Without any other option, Logan made his way towards the entrance hoping to find anyone.

Five minutes later, he came across a nurse walking out of a staff break-room with a clipboard in hand. Logan sped up when he saw her. But as soon as she saw Logan, she stopped and started to shake uncontrollably.

Logan: "Are you okay?" Logan asked as he slowed down a decent distance away from her.

Nurse: "H..how d-did you get-get out?" Her voice was shaky and laced with fear.

Logan: "Calm down, I'm not going to hurt you." Logan said slowly as he backed up and raised his hands slowly, showing her he meant no harm. "I just came to not that long ago. I have no idea what's going on or know what's going on. And I walked out since the door was never locked." Logan said slowly. "Could you tell me what happened since I came here? Please?"

Nurse: "It's been about a month and a half since you were admitted here." The nurse squeaked out before she passed out.

Logan: 'At least I got some answers' Logan thought as he caught her before she hit the ground. 'I better set her in the break-room until she wakes up.'

Logan then entered into the break-room and found no one else inside. After laying the nurse on a couch, Logan left her a note saying thanks for the bit of information she gave him and left it where she could see it. After making sure the nurse would be fine, Logan left and continued to make his way to the front of the hospital. As he did, his mind wondered through ideas of what happened.

His first thought was that the council went along with Attila's depiction of him and made him out to be a monster. A monster that took joy in leveling a town and murdering everyone but Attila. The worst-case scenario is that they made Attila into a woman that wanted to avenge her town. However, Attila openly ate a woman's arm live for the entirety of Remnant to see.

After that thought, his mind went to the possibility that all his mission records were released to the public. Even the ones that were really dark in nature. Logan didn't really care if they did or not if that was the case. But the worst-case scenario was that they modified them to suit their needs. After all, the majority of Vale's council didn't want Logan to get his hunter license for fear of him destroying their under-the-table dealings.

Then was the thought that Logan believed was the best possibility. Ozpin worked his magic and made Logan out to be a hero by destroying a cannibalistic cult that kidnapped and sacrificed their victims to their God. Attila being that last survivor wanted payback before she rebuilt the cult even stronger than it was. But with the way the nurse looked at him, Logan didn't have much hope this one was true.

When Logan got closer to the front entrance of the hospital, he could hear people screaming profanities. And some of the things that were being said could make a sailor blush in embarrassment with how creative some of them were. Some weren't that bad, others were downright funny, and then there were the ones that nearly made him puke with how graphic they were.

As Logan tried to settle his stomach, he had to duck under a stun baton that was aimed at his head. With a fluid motion, Logan grabbed the arm that was holding the baton and throw whoever it was over his shoulder then backed up. Once he was back a bit from his would-be attacker, Logan wasn't surprised to see it was a police officer. If the way that nurse acted was any bit of an indicator, then he'll be in for one hell of a surprise.

The officer quickly got up and charged again as soon as he could. Logan then continued to dodge and throw him to the ground when he got the chance. Finally, Logan pinned the officer on the ground and throw away the baton.

Logan: "Now then, could you calm down for a second and tell me why you're attacking me?" Logan asked.

Officer: "You were the cause for an entire town to disappear." The officer growled out.

Logan: "A town full of sociopathic people that were cannibals and kidnapped people to sacrifice them to their God." Logan countered.

Officer: "That still doesn't give you the right to wipe out an entire town!" The officer shouted.

Logan: "And the people outside?" Logan asked with a sigh, already tired of the man.

Officer: "Those f*** are calling you a hero for murdering an entire town!" He spat. "They should be locked up and have the key thrown away!"

The officer then went on a rant for a few minutes and would have continued if Logan hadn't knocked the man out. Sighing, Logan just left the man on the floor as he headed for the roof. As soon as Logan made it outside, he took off running before he transformed into his hawk form and flew off towards Beacon.

While he was flying, Logan examined and listened in on all that he could, hoping to find any sort of information. So far Logan heard that Atlas has pulled their troops back to their ships and that the colosseum had been moved to a place it could land for repairs. Other than those two pieces of information, nothing had been out of the ordinary which worried him. The officer was an example of those that hadn't taken that bit of news well.

Now close to Beacon, Logan had to find where Ozpin was to get a cohesive understanding of what happened while he was out of it. As Logan approached the lading pads, he saw that numerous people were gathered around a noticeable silver-haired man. Logan mentally sighed for the nth time today as he landed on Ozpin's shoulder as the people back up a bit when he appeared. Ozpin just glanced at Logan before he turned his attention back to the mass of people.

Ozpin: "As I have said before; until everything has been cleared up, I will not comment nor will I give a statement." Ozpin spoke loudly for the entire group to hear. "Now please leave as you are trespassing on academy grounds. I do not wish to use force to remove you all. Thank you."

Once Ozpin managed to calm down the now identified reporters, he immediately headed to his office with Logan on his shoulder. As the two of them got to the lift, Logan reverted to his human form. Neither said anything until they reached the office. And as soon as Logan stepped foot in the office, a crisp slap greeted him.

Logan: "I expected that..." Logan said dryly as he looked at a furious Glynda.

Glynda: "Then expect more for worrying me like that!" Glynda yelled at Logan.

Ozpin: "You two can save your lover's spat until later." Ozpin said as he got between them. "It's imperative that Logan is filled in first and foremost."

Salem: "First, I recommend that everyone has a drink and seat first." Salem said as she appeared with a tray of drinks. Coffee for Logan, and tea for the rest.

Logan: "Thank you." Logan said as he grabbed the caffeine goodness and drank. "Gods, I needed this!" Logan said as he followed Salem to a table and chairs.

Ozpin: "Anyway, after you left to go defend Vale's wall, the council decided to release a modified mission record of your missions." Ozpin started as they all sat down. "And it wasn't very flattering either."

Logan: "Well that explains the nurse that fainted when she saw me and the cop that tried to take my head off when I first woke up." Logan said, annoyed.

Salem: "However it was rumored to be fabricated by Attila before her timely demise." Salem explained. "Even then, people had a hard time believing it as a majority of the populace saw you rush to the wall."

Logan: "I see." Logan said after he drained the last of his coffee. "However, I have no memory after I passed out while fighting. Anything before that I can recall with clarity."

Ozpin: "Then we'll fill you in on what happened after that then." Ozpin said. "I'm guessing you don't know that you caused a massive flaming pillar of mana." He got a nod. "That's when it all started. The few people that were still on the streets and those that were still protecting the walls witnessed it. It got spread through word of mouth and soon every citizen knew that you single-handedly drove off the Grimm."

Logan: "Not accurate, but not that surprising considering it was by word of mouth." Logan commented.

Ozpin: "Quite." Ozpin responded. "When you were found, you were out cold and the best doctors said that you were in an aura-induced coma. Nothing could be done until you woke up naturally. However soon after that, all doctors in Vale were called to the wall so that they could help treat any wounded there. But the skeleton crew that was left to watch over you vanished with you in tow. No one knew where you were being held until you showed up earlier. Even I had no luck finding your whereabouts with all my sources and Salem's mana sensing."

Logan: "When I came too, I was in an isolated medical room with reinforced windows and a heavy metal door. Even the clothes I'm wearing now were there." Logan said with a frown. "After I got dressed and walked out, I met a nurse that passed out soon after I met her and then a Cop who wanted me dead. Hell, there was even a mod outside the building I was in. I didn't want to deal with any of that, so I left through a roof door and came here right after." Logan explained. "According to the nurse, before she passed out, I was admitted there about a month and a half ago."

Ozpin: "Do you know the address? Or see the street name?" Ozpin asked.

Logan: " Yeah, 3rd street in downtown Vale." Logan answered. "About a block from Main street and nearby a mall."

Glynda: "Odd, I don't remember there being a Hospital around that area." Glynda said as she pulled her scroll out to find it.

Salem: "And I don't recall any ether." Salem spoke up. "And I've pretty much have walked the entirety of Vale."

Ozpin: "We're getting off track." Ozpin said to Logan. "While you were missing, the wall was repaired of any damage sustained and other minor things. Ironwood even got his Atlas bots to help secure the area beyond the wall as well. But the worst part was that the council was trying to do everything to turn what happened in their favor."

Logan: "How so?"

Salem: "Logan, they blamed you for Attila's carnage." Salem said seriously. "They made a statement that her attack was due to you going off-mission to purposefully destroy her home town. They even paid a psychiatrist off to say her mental health and actions were due to the trauma she witnessed when you destroyed her home and murdered everyone."

Ozpin: "And since they modified your mission records, they could even back up that claim if they play it right." Ozpin added. "Right now, your both Vale's hero and Vale's number one criminal."

Logan: "What about the students?" Logan asked. "If I go back to teaching, I rather not have to watch my back more than normal."

Glynda: "A good majority of them don't believe you're at fault for what happened. A small portion is neutral in their opinion and the rest want an answer from you before they decided." Glynda said as she set her scroll down. "And I can't find that hospital you were held at. There is nothing near the mall there that even suggests a hospital or pharmacy with medical treatment facilities."

Logan: "Did anything else happen besides my reputation being drug through the mud?" Logan asked with a sigh as he figured he might as well deal with one thing at a time.

Ozpin: "The Fall Maiden... Amber is dead." Ozpin said solemnly. "And we don't have a clue as to who is responsible..."

Logan: "Fuck..."
