Chapter 21: Recruitment

Scarlet saw someone she hadn't thought she'd see for a good minute or so, but of course she had to find out why they were there of all places. Hero just sat on her head confused about who this person was.

"Hello Whis..." Scarlet said looking at the angel, she was puzzled as to why he was here in this rip in time made by Queen.

Whis smiled as he looked at Scarlet. "Hello again Scarlet, it has been quite a while hasn't it? I'm sure you're curious as to why I'm here yes?"

Scarlet nodded her head lightly as she looked at him. "I am, I'm currently a bit busy right now trying to chase White Queen, but she is slipping through my fingers each time."

Whis laughed a bit. "Oh my, so that's why the Supreme Kai of time has been getting uneasy scrolls suddenly. But aside from that...." Whis looked at her for a bit as he saw Hero on her head. "I see you've made a new friend as well. What's his name?"

"It's Hero." Hero spoke as the ginger cat looked at Whis.

"Oh he speaks too? Fascinating." Whis said before drawing his attention back to the Grimm girl. "Come, I think it's best if Lord Beerus explained it better than I."

Before Scarlet could even say anything, her, Hero and Whis left the rip in time as they arrived on Beerus' planet where Goku was at. Scarlet glanced at Goku and then at Beerus, hero jumped off of her head and into her arms.

"Ah, perfect. Just who we've been looking for." Beerus said as the God of destruction walked over to Scarlet. "Whis went to get you for many reasons. But the important one is.... the entire Multiverse is at risk of being erased by the Hierarchs Grand Zeno."

"And I care why?" Scarlet asked tapping her foot.

Before Beerus could answer, Goku ran over and stopped inches away from Scarlet. "This is a Multiversal tournament. You have to join Universe 7's team!" Goku clapped his hands together. "Please join our team!"

Scarlet glared at the Saiyan as she turned her head. "No, I'm busy with other things."

"Oh come on, pretty please?" Goku asked looking at Scarlet. "You're the only one I know of who has been able to hold you own against Demigra before I showed up to help."

Scarlet growled as she turned around. "I said no Goku. I'm far too busy!"

Goku wouldn't take no for an answer as he went around to where she was facing. "Please? There's going to tones of strong fighters there, and Natsu and everyone else you've encountered before Demigra would be there."

Scarlet groaned as she looked at him. "Everyone?"

"Well.... kinda sorta." Goku said. "I just know Natsu and his friends will be there... and uh... I'm not sure who else."

Beerus pushed Goku out of the way as he cleared his throat. "What Goku is saying is true, but there will be new faces you haven't seen before. We are aware of what you're trying to do, and I know I said last time I'd Hakai you from existence if you did anything like that again. But... This isn't your faulty doing, that Queen woman is going around messing things up and you're just doing what's in your blood. However, if you join us in this tournament... and if we win. Not only will you be getting our aid in tracking Queen down, but... I will see to it that Zeno doesn't erase each timeline and universe from what you're trying to accomplish."

Scarlet scoffed but sighed. "Fine, you have a deal."

Goku grinned from ear to ear as he jumped up into the sky. "Yes!"

"But." Scarlet said as she placed Hero down onto the ground. "I'm not doing this because I forgive you for interrupting my travels. I'm doing this for me and my family."

Whis smiled but snapped his fingers. "Oh, I almost forgot." He tapped the butt of his staff on the group as a projector sphere appeared. "You should see this..."

Scarlet glanced at the sphere, her eyes widened as she gritted her teeth. "That bastard.. she brought my mother into our chaos!" Scarlet didn't care for Salem, but seeing what Salem was doing to everyone in Tengu City angered her to the core.

"Indeed, it seems Queen dragged Salem from a different timeline and explained to her everything she needed to know. So now, she's wreaking havoc on your home." Whis said with a sigh. "Tohka and the other spirits tried but failed, and now she's holding Kurumi hostage."

Scarlet gritted her teeth more as she clinched her fist tightly. "That BASTARD!!!! I'm going to kill her when I get my hands on her!"

Goku felt the eerie aura flowing off of Scarlet. "H-Hey maybe Lord Beerus could go there and erase her from existence?"

"No way Goku, I'm not going to have myself step out of line as a destroyer to help someone in need. I'm a God not a helper." Beerus said. "Do you have any idea what would happen if i interfered with mortal conflict?"

Goku thinks for a bit as he had totally forgotten. "Oh yeah... but, Salem isn't really a mortal... I mean you did erase Zamasu so..."

"That is true Lord Beerus, Salem isn't a mortal. She's an immortal witch full of darkness and hate for humanity." Whis said. "It'll be a quick and easy task for you to do."

"Alright fine! I'll do it, but you should know traveling to different dimensions is forbidden. Even for a God like myself." Beerus said as he held onto Whis' shoulder. "Whis take me there, so I can deal with Salem..."

Whis nods as he tapped his staff, both him and Beerus were gone as Goku crossed his arms and looked over to Scarlet. "I'm really sorry about this, you've been through a lot huh?"

Scarlet glared at Goku. "You have no idea, ever since you killed me with your spirit bomb. I had to live my life day to day, being reminded that I was killed by you and your spirit bomb."

Goku rubbed the back of his head and chuckled nervously. "Ehehehe.... sorry about all that, I just couldn't let you win ya know?"

Scarlet growled as she kept her gaze on Goku, it wasn't long before Beerus and Whis returned. "Did you kill her?"

Beerus scoffed as he dusted himself off. "Of course, I'm a destroyer not a wimpy God who doesn't do his job. Salem put up a struggle for sure, but she's gone. Tengu City has to be rebuilt however."

Scarlet let out a sigh of relief upon hearing this, but something told her that this may not be the end for her mother. "I don't think this will be the last time I see her."

Whis nodded in agreement to what Scarlet had said, he smiled a bit as he knew she had a bit of weight lifted off her shoulder. "Yes, I agree.."

Hero sat on Scarlet's head again as he was being a bit lazy. He yawned as his ears perked up, he glanced around as the ginger cat saw some other people. "Hmm?"

"Hmph, no one told me we'd be teaming up with her." Vegeta scoffed as he crossed his arms, clearly not happy knowing Scarlet was going to be on the team.

Scarlet scoffed but didn't pay him no mind as she saw Gohan, Piccolo, Trunks and Goten as well as Krillin. She even saw Broly, but yet.... not Broly, he seemed different from the one she had encountered. "Hmm, this one is different from the one I've encountered twice.."

Goku tilts his head confused as he looked at Scarlet. "Did you say something?"

Scarlet shook her head as she didn't say anything, it wasn't long before they all had vanished from Beerus' planet and arrived at an opened tournament ring. One that looked similar to the same ring in the tournament of power, Scarlet's nose picked up some familiar smells as she glanced around the ring.

"Well then, me and Lord Beerus will be out on the sidelines watching. Shall I take your kitten so he doesn't get hurt?" Whis asked curiously looking at Scarlet.

Scarlet looked at the angel as she reached up and grabbed Hero. "He can pull weapons and other things out of a pocket dimension.. but."

Hero tilted his head before he felt Whis gently grab him. "The right choice, staying on the sidelines so he can cheer you on."

Gohan couldn't help but smile as he chuckled, Goku did the same as he saw how much Scarlet had changed from a sadistic evil villain, to a more caring mother figure yet still held those villain like vibes to her. "And to think, you're the same Scarlet I fought and helped beat Demigra... you've really changed a lot."

Scarlet scoffed as she crossed her arms. "Tch, don't expect me to show any remorse or pity if you fall out of the ring Goku." She turned to look at Gohan assuming he was the leader of this group for the tournament. "So what's the plan?"

"Plan? Oh right well... since this is a bigger ring than previously. I would say we should stick together, but... if we spread out more we could cover more ground." Gohan said as he automatically jumped into his ultimate form.

"Oh? Well then, this will give me the chance to run into some.... old acquaintances." Scarlet said with a small smirk on her face.

The Grand Priest floated overhead as the two Zeno's sat in their chairs behind him. "Welcome everyone to the Multiversal tournament. I am the Grand Priest, some of you may know that and may know the Grand Zeno's behind me. Some of you may not be too familiar with us... we will be spectating this tournament from afar, however. The losing multiverse if all its players are out of the arena... will be erased."

"ERASED?!" A familiar voice shouted from the distance as fire shot up into the air. "I'll be sure to stay in this ring!"

Scarlet recognized that voice. "Ara, so you were telling the truth after all Goku, Natsu is here with his friends."

"See, I told you. This isn't just a universal tournament, this is a multiversal one." Goku said with a smile on his face as he laughed a bit.

After the Grand Priest had announced the start of the tournament. Scarlet dashed off away from the Z-Fighters as she went straight towards The Fairy Tail Guild, she slashed Black Rose down as the blade got stopped.

"He he, hello there Scarlet." Natsu said with a smirk as he caught the scythe in his hand. "Good to see you again." He kicked her back as his fists were engulfed in flames. "Don't think my nose didn't pick up your scent. My nose works just like yours. Or have you forgotten that?"

Scarlet smirked as she clinched her stomach on where Natsu had kicked her. "Oh I didn't forget Salamander..." She grinned as she rushed towards Natsu again only to be hit in the face by a punch.

"Fire Dragon fist!" Natsu yelled as he punched his flaming fist against Scarlet's face, his punch was strong enough to have Scarlet spin around in mid-air. Natsu grinned as he slammed his head down on the back of hers casing her to fall onto the ground.

Scarlet gagged as she spun on the ground and kicked Natsu off his feet as she back-flips to her own feet. "Still got it after all this time." She slammed her foot down over Natsu, but the dragon slayer grabbed her foot and threw her away from him.

Natsu jumped to his feet as he started to swell up. "Fire Dragon roar!" He spewed out a gigantic flame from his mouth as it went straight towards Scarlet. The Grimm girl's eyes widen as she was hit by the flame and got engulfed by it.

"Oh come on, you can do better than that!" Beerus shouted from the sidelines. "You're not going to step out yet are you?!"

Scarlet snickered as she appeared behind Natsu and grabbed him by the throat before tossing him over her shoulder, she slammed him down onto the ground as Natsu gasped. "Pipe down up there Beerus, I know what I'm doing." She glared down at the dragon slayer as she was about to toss him out of the ring before the ground changed shape.

Two giant hands grabbed Scarlet as Natsu got up and was confused. But then out of nowhere Scarlet got punched in the face before her neck nearly snapped. "I thought as much, this entire thing as your stench all over it."

Scarlet glared at who had punched her but laughed. "The Full-metal alchemist, Edward Elric."

Ed smirked as the giant hands squeezed Scarlet's body, but the Grimm girl smirked as she slithered out from the hands as she popped her joints and muscles back into place. "It's nice to see you as well.... now Al!"

Alphonse grabbed Scarlet from behind as his metal body crushed her. "I'm going to jump out with you in my arms." He took a step back, but Scarlet pushed against Al's body before slipping free from his grasp, she pushed her feet against his body as she jumped back into the ring away from the edge which caused Al to fall out. "Drat, I should've done better."

"Did you seriously think that was a clever idea? Having your brother sacrifice himself to take me out? Please Ed... you should've thought about this plan better." Scarlet said as she dashed towards Ed and gut punched hard before throwing him towards Natsu.

Natsu grabbed Ed, but it was a distraction. Scarlet rushed over as she was about to punch both of them out of the ring, until her fist was stopped. "Don't waste your breath on these two. I'm itching to fight you myself."

Scarlet glanced to see who had stopped her punch, a blind girl who had no shoes on her feet. It was clear who this was, but Scarlet never knew her or has even run into her before. This was Toph Beifong, the Earth-bender, Scarlet was confused about how Toph knew she was fighting Ed and Natsu.

"Let me guess, you're confused on how I know. It's simple, I'm a Earth-bender. I can feel vibrations with my feet, plus someone loves to jaw jack too much." Toph said referring to Natsu. "These two will be a waste of time, so how about I clear some space?" She moved her foot around the ground as a wave of rocks came up and pushed Natsu and Ed out of the ring. "That's better, now... Let's fight!"
