Chapter Twelve

"Aside from the kids needing therapy, everything turned out fine."

I hummed, puffing on my cigar as I tightened a bolt that would secure the shell of my weapon back to where it was required and held it up for observation.

"Are you still mad at me?"

I glanced at the dumbass that landed my students in therapy and let out a huff of smoke through my nose.

"Okay! I am sorry! Is that what you wanted me to say?"

Putting down my weapon, I took the cigarette out of my mouth and extinguished it in the ashtray.

"No, not really, they would have to experience bloodshed sooner or later, but they didn't need to witness you going into a blood rage."

I shrugged, leaning back into the chair.

Dantte sighed and slumped his shoulders as we sat in silence for a few moments. He messed up, sure, but it happens to everyone, nobody's perfect.

Though this awkwardness was ill-fit between us, we have known each other for two lifetimes, this was not only ill-fit, it was dumb, moronic even.

"Alright, enough gloom and doom, I have a mission to go on tomorrow to Atlas and I don't want to leave on a bad note. Let's go for a walk."

The dude perked up, smirking and looking at me with excitement dancing in his eyes.

"You mean "The" walk or just a walk?"

A smirk made itself onto my face as well and I just turned to the door, collapsing my weapon into its compact form and putting it inside my jacket pocket.

"Oh yeah! What are we going to do? Blow shit up? Mug someone? Steal a motorcycle?"

I paused, turned to him, and gave a raised eyebrow.

"You will not steal a motorcycle..."

He pouted and I sighed.

"We will be setting up an information network in an attempt to screw over the fire bender in the future."

His smirk fell as he pondered on the idea and finally, he smiled manaically.

"Only if we still fight a dragon."

I nodded, I want that thing gone as soon as possible.

I was waiting for a Bullhead that would take me to Atlas, not really being enthusiastic about it. I wasn't Dantte, who was currently using his clones to set up the information network we talked about yesterday.

As the said Bullhead got closer to its destination, which was right in front of Beacon Academy, I contemplated teleporting inside.

Deciding that remaining where I am was worth remaining, I ran a hand through my hair. I had to take down an Arachnid.

The annoying little shits. One single Aracnid didn't remain that way for long when it found a good place to make a nest. The eggs that it laid were hatched into tiny versions of the spider-like Grimm.

There were hundreds and the worst part of that was that I couldn't use my Gaster Blasters to kill them. They were magic constructs, if they didn't commit any sins, the blasters would not be as effective as they would be on the older Grimm.

But that didn't mean that they were totally useless. The laser was still a laser, it would drill through them and disintegrate the small ones, but the main function of the blaster was the Karma damage that it would deal to opponents.

It was also helping me destroy the magic of the god that created them in the first place.

As I was pondering, the Bullhead managed to land safely and its ramp was lowered to reveal a woman with white hair tied into a military bun with one bang framing the side of her face.

Her clothes were obviously military, a white long-sleeved coat with a single dark blue clasp around the center waist holding it shut alongside a red jeweled brooch on the collar, along with white trousers and gray, thigh-high boots.

She looked around and finally spotted me and gave me a look over before finally walking down and approaching me.

Resisting the urge to make a Jojo reference, I tilted my head to the side slightly and waited for her to get close enough to start a conversation.

"Mr. Gaster?"

I nodded, remaining silent and allowing her to continue.

"Very well, we will be arriving at our destination at 14:00 hour, if we depart immediately."

She said curtly and turned around to head back up to the bullhead while I just blinked.

"Hello, I'm fine, thank you for asking, yes, I'm ready for the mission, let's depart immediately."

I mumbled rhetorically, following her up the ramp and into the Bullhead.

This would be fun, I could tell.
