Chapter Eighteen

This was fun.

So fun, I couldn't stop smiling.

The clash of an undead dragon with a summoned one was a thing of the past, as I was facing down four summoned creatures in front of me.

The dragon was still the largest, but the three others were no less magnificent.

A giant Bear with antlers glowing blue due to the engravings of what seemed like runes, towering over the surroundings and staring right at me like I was the prey and it was the predator.

An Ice giant, standing at the same height as the bear roared at me, sending a wave of cold across my body. Two Ice pillars, a pale mimicary of wings were on its back, most likely not functional.

And finally, a centipede, long enough to circle the surrounding mountains. In place of the front two legs, it had muscular, clawed arms and one giant eye with a dilated pupil.

The smile I had on my face physically hurt as my aura flared, fueling my magic further than it already was.

Finally, there was their master, Nick who was sitting down on the snout of the dragon as he stared at me and my own summon, his scythe rested on his shoulder and his coat billowed in the wind.

This was great! Fantastic even!

Ice exploded from the giant aiming to skewer me, in response, I just punched forward, breaking the offending structure like it was nothing but frail glass.

My own giant blaster aimed at the offending giant, aiming to melt the ice being like it was a simple ice block outside of a refrigerator.

The centipede rushed forward, opening its maw and swallowing the blast like a snack.

The dragon took this chance to spew fire at me to which I summoned a blaster to act as a shield.

When the four giants came into my sight again, I saw the centipede concentrating on making a small, purple ball in between its hands.

The bear slammed its paws down as rocks burst from the ground, trying to distract me from the main threat.

Overcharging the blaster that was acting as a shield, a blue beam intercepted the wave of rocks, blasting them back at the sender who tried to dodge.

The blue beam hit one of the antlers, disintegrating it at the point of impact as the remaining part of it dissipated in golden light.

I seemed to be too slow however as the purple ball suddenly burst forward into a large beam and I teleported out of the way, right behind Nick, and thrusting my blade forward.

The man tensed and pushed himself forward to drop from the dragon, avoiding my attack just in time.

"You ass! Play fair!"

Snorting at the absurd notion, I turned to the dragon, raising a hand where a blue ball came into existence. The ball turned into a cone and with a mental command, it expanded, piercing the head of the dragon, making it turn to golden dust.

Just like that, the dragon was thrown aside like it was nothing but an insect.

A faint sound of lightning cracking reached my ears as I felt something impact my aura while I was falling, blasting me into the air.

Maneuvering myself in the air, I looked down to see the bastard floating in the air while my giant skeleton was biting into the centipede and using its tail to hold off the ice giant and the bear.

With one mighty swing, the arm of the ice giant shattered. The bear bit down on the tail, saving its comrade from being turned into dust.

I didn't get to pay much more attention as Nick flew toward me, his scythe at the ready. I readied my gauntlets, expanding the shield with aura only for him to swing his scythe before we were even remotely close.

My confusion lasted only for a moment when pain burst through my chest as blood splattered on my hands.

The bastard attacked me through my aura again.

Healing the damage as soon as it was registered, I discarded the thoughts of using the shield. The gauntlets expanded into blades again and five giant blasters materialized behind me.

The blue beams shot forward, which Nick dodged, but I wasn't expecting them to hit anyway, they were aimed at his summons.

His scythe met my blade in mid-air and My summon, who managed to launch the centipede back, Launched a beach of plasma toward us.

Nick looked over his shoulder and I took the chance to teleport to the ground.

Looking up, I frowned when I didn't feel his signature in the air at all.

Ducking, I avoided a blade that would have cut my head in half horizontally. In retaliation, bones burst from the brought as I used telekinesis to hold him in place.

The bones did their job, turning his body into a pin cushion as I waited for it to turn out to be a clone.

"Agh! Bitch!"

Never mind, it wasn't a clone.

The older man tugged and the bones broke, disappearing in the same way they appeared, leaving a man looking like a cheese slice.

His body glowed as his wounds healed, much slower than mine did, so it must have been a passive regeneration or a spell that healed over an extended period of time.

I didn't have much time to ponder as a giant magic circle appeared below the both of us.

Damn it.
