Yuri System [2]

"Wait, what?" Rina called out, floating in utter confusion.

"God of what?" She called out and the voice responded immediately.

"The God of vengeance. He's the one who gave you a second chance after you got shot by Sara…" The voice trailed off and Rina sat up at once.

"How do you know that name?" She demanded. She has never heard of that name in years, hearing it right now send a wave of memories over her, along with crippling rage.

The voice scoffed. "Don't sound so shocked, I know a lot of things."

Rina sighed and leaned against the wall once again. She felt crazy right now, having a conversation with a voice claiming to be a system. But somehow, that was sounding logical because if I had needed more signs apart from it being able to hear my inner thoughts, it mentioning Sara's name and getting it right that she killed me was all the confirmation I needed.

"So… what now?" Rina asked after a few moments and the voice responded.

"You'd need to embark on missions."

"What now?" Rina demanded, gaze narrowing.

"Missions. You'd have to embark on them. That's the only way you can be to claim this second chance at life granted to you by the God of vengeance." The voice explained and Rina scoffed as she sat up once again.

"Didn't you say I was granted one more chance? Why the hell do I need to do some missions to claim this supposed chance?" Rina demanded, the question sounded very logical to her. If it was indeed a chance, was it supposed to come with a clause?

"Unlike your second chance which was given to you without a clause, this third one comes with one. That way, you'd take it more seriously than the second chance." The voice responded and Rina scoffed.

"How didn't I take the second chance more seriously? I stayed out of harm's way, I almost minded my business, didn't I? I slept and woke up daily, I also fought only when necessary. I only slipped up at the very end. Isn't that right?" Rina demanded, completely perplexed.

"You didn't make use of the second chance well. A lot of people have been given second chances before you. Whenever that happened, they use that opportunity to try to climb to the very top at all costs. But you? You were unbothered most of the time, you didn't see this life as yours, nor were you interested in getting on the throne, like you were supposed to."

Once the voice finished, Rina sighed and leaned against the wall once again.

"I didn't know that was supposed to happen, it would have been helpful if I had gotten a memo about it." She snapped and the voice snorted.

"Well, that's in the past and no amount of regret would change it. What you need to focus on right now, is this third and final chance." The voice announced and I sighed.

"Which comes with a price, wasn't that what you said?" Rina tiredly asked and the voice responded.

"Yup, it does. You see, the God of vengeance isn't that merciful. He never gives an extra chance without a clause. Don't see it as a clause, instead… look at it as you and the God of vengeance helping each other out." The voice explained and Rina nodded even though she didn't fully understand what was being explained to her.

"The God of vengeance gave you a gift of a fierce fighting spirit which you executed perfectly in your first life. That's the reason you were given a second chance in the first place."

"Okay…" Rina breathed out, while still very confused.

"For your final chance at remaining alive, you'd have to go on missions, and that includes traveling through realms and saving female leads in distress." The voice continued and Rina abruptly sat up.

"Whoa whoa whoa… hold on a sec." She paused for a moment. "Save people in distress?"

"To save female leads in distress." The voice corrected and Rina blanched.

"What? I don't save people. Like, I don't at all." Rina informed the voice at once.

"That's one of the rules of the mission."

"Well, I want another mission then! I don't save people, that's the job of heroes, not villains. As a villainess, saving people is the last thing I'm interested in." Rina snapped in annoyance.

"You either accept the mission or die. That's the clause. If you accept the mission, you'd get to still be alive, and after the missions are complete, you'd return to claim the throne which is still rightfully yours." The voice informed a scowling Rina.

Save people? The thought of doing that made Rina's skin crawl. It made her feel like she was betraying her parents and the legacy she protected and carried on with everything in her.

But, it didn't seem like there was any other choice.

"That's the only clause, right?" Rina asked after a little while.

"Not quite, there's a few more clauses." The voice responded and Rina groaned.

"You're to rescue each female lead from each realm and ensure that all their Villains are killed." The voice started.

"You're to also tame them and make them fall for you." The voice continued and Rina rolled her eyes, she was beyond irritated.

"What now? 'Tame them'… are they goats? And why do they need to fall for me? This is something the God of vengeance requested for as well?" Rina demanded incredulously.

"Actually… the God of lust is the one who threw this clause in." The voice revealed and Rina slumped against the wall once again.

"Oh great. How many more gods are left? How many of them threw clauses into this damned mission?!"

"There's a lot of Gods, but only one more threw a clause in."

"What's that?"

"This clause is that you're to embark on this mission with a companion."

"What?!" Rina screeched. "I only work alone! I've never had a partner, I hate working with someone else. That absolutely cannot work."

"I believe that's the reason why the God of Love threw this clause in." The voice explained.

"Just great. The gods think my life is some kind of playground, don't they?"

"They actually think it's a canvas–"

"I can't work with a partner, I'm so serious." Rina called out again.

"Sadly, the clauses cannot be changed."

"Who is this companion anyway?" Rina practically spat out.

"You'd see." The voice responded, and that only made Rina grow more annoyed, irritated and frustrated.

Within herself, Rina decided that she was doomed.
