Rina

Rina wasn't sure of where she was. She hasn't the slightest idea. It felt extremely tight and almost suffocating around her, like something was compressing her in.

Her hands felt stiff and when she tried to blink her eyes open, she discovered that she couldn't.

She felt herself getting moved around, like the world was being pulled from underneath her feet over and over again, making her really lightheaded and unfocused.

'Where the hell am I?'

She silently asked herself, because the last thing she remembered before everything blacked out was being shot by Sara and her brother being a pussy by shooting Sara, then crying, like killing Sara was gonna magically bring his sister whom he claimed to hate back to life.

Pussy ass boy till the very last moment.

That was the last thing Rina vividly remembered. She had felt the life drain out of her. She knew the gunshots had killed her, and she had expected to meet herself in hell when next she'd get a hold of her senses.

Only that, it didn't feel like she was currently in hell right now. She could smell flowers, fresh, blossoming flowers. She could suddenly pick up a lot of scents swirling in the air and almost immediately, she silently asked herself if her nose had always been this sharp or if this was only happening because she was now dead.

Moments later, she began to hear voices and once again, she tried blinking her eyes open but found out that she couldn't.

"We need to kill her." A man's voice echoed, sounding impatient and brisk. Rina found herself snorting, because she'd also like to kill someone right now, that was a hobby of hers after all. If only she could get her stupid eyes to open.

She tried lifting her hands so she could use it to rub at her eyes, but found out that she couldn't it, which made her wonder what it was that was suddenly happening.

"No, please, my lord, please. We can't kill her, she's our child." A woman's voice pierced through the air, sounding frightened and tearful, causing Rina to perk up in curiosity.

Their daughter?

Damn, this man sounds like a real problem.

Rina thought within herself.

"She's not my child! I don't know where you found that cursed thing, but I'm not gonna keep having that in my house! It's been months and not a word has been heard from her, she's still yet to cry since the moment she was born. She is cleerly cursed and I'm gonna kill her right now so that she can be returned to wherever she came from!"

The man thundered angrily and a shirll cry from the woman echoed out, sounding way closer to Rina than before. It made Rina desperate to see what was happening and once again, she tried to get her eyes open but unfortunately couldn't.

Moments later, the sound of a sword being drawn made Rina perk up even more but before she could further comprehend what was happening, it suddenly felt like the world got pulled from underneath her feet, like she was being blown around in the air like a piece of garbage, right before she felt arms wrap tightly around her, so tight that it almost felt protective.

"I won't let you kill my child, my lord. Please. Remember we prayed to the gods for this child for over a decade, please my lord." The woman's sorrowful voice sounded close to Rina's ear this time and she grew even more confused. She tried to get a word out, to demand what the hell was going on and if this was how hell was supposed to feel like. However, it felt like a lump was in her throat, preventing a sound from coming out.

"I don't care, she needs to be killed, because she is cursed. Drop the child and step away from her right now!" The man bellowed.

Rina suddenly felt herself being squeezed tighter against against a soft chest right before the woman's tearful voice echoed right into her ear once again, way louder this time.

"No! I'll never step away! You'd have to kill me before you kill her!"

A scoff sounded before footsteps felt like it was getting closer.

"Alright then. If that's how you want it. Your presence wouldn't be missed anyway." The man sneered right before it felt like a sword was being swung in the air.

Suddenly, Rina felt a rush of air through every inch of her body, coursing through every vein and pouring right out from every pore, and a fleeting moment later, Rina suddenly felt the invisible hold on her eyes disappear, along with the lump in her throat.

"Now, what the hell is going on?!!" Rina screamed loudly as she finally blinked her eyes open.

However, it took a few moments for Rina to realize that words didn't come out from her mouth. What actually came out from her mouths were… cries?

A baby's cries…?

Panicked, Rina tried demanding what the fuck was going on and what was up with her voice, amongst a bunch of other questions. However, all those questions came out in the cries of a baby, like something was turning whatever she says into the soundtrack of a baby's cries.

Moments later, it felt like a veil lifted off Rina's eyes, and as she blinked once, all she could see were beautiful flowers, right before two wide eyed face stared down at her. A woman who had tears running down her cheeks and a man who still had a sword in the air.

The woman let out a loud cry of disbelief and threw her hands in the air. It felt like the air got kicked out of Rina's chest and she yelped. As she took in the woman from her levitated position, was when she finally realized that she hadn't died and gone to hell like she had first thought.

Instead, she was currently in the body of a baby. An unresponsive baby who almost got killed moments ago.

As Rina watched the woman rejoice and scream for joy, causing other people to gather, Rina noticed the man put his sword away, a shocked expression still over his face.

People began to pinch Rina's cheeks and pass her around each other, all shouting for joy as they listened to her cry and watch her stare at them.

Apparently, this baby has been born nine months ago but just opened her eyes and cried for the first time today.

Damn, the baby probably chose to remain that way because her mother clearly doesn't what personal space meant.

Rina didn't know what to make of this. She didn't understand why she was currently trapped in a baby's body when she was supposed to have died and gone straight to the hottest part of hell.

"This is a miracle child! What are you gonna call her?" An old lady asked the woman who was cradling Rina and staring down at her with so much love in her eyes.

The woman smile tearfully and leaned down to kiss Rina's forehead and Rina groaned in irritation, attempting to push the woman away, only that the groan came out in a baby's cry, and the people gathered around cooed, clearly thinking that the baby had wanted to touch her mother's cheek.

"I prayed to the water goddess yesterday and this morning, like I've been doing since the moment I had her. I held off giving her a name all these months. Because of this miracle, I'm gonna call her Marina. A child of the sea. Rina."

As everyone jubilated around Rina, she dwelled on the irony of her new name being her very old one before she got killed.

Rina.
