NOT ZERITH BUT GERALD

Zerith's face brightened up, seeing Bertha walking in his way with a smile on her face. But then his own smile faltered when he noticed that something was not right with her.

She had bags under her eyes, and her face looked exhausted. Her eyes even looked a little red, and her bright smile which always blew colours in his otherwise bland life didn't reach her eyes.

"Bertha? Where were you?" He asked.

Theodora now had nothing to worry about because she knew that Bertha would take care of the situation on her own.

"I woke up early and didn't wanted to disturb Lady Theodora. So I went to Mr Collins' and prepared breakfast. I brought some for us too." She smiled again, showing the lunch box in her hand.

"But why didn't you take the carriage?"

"Zerith, I said I went early in the morning. He was sleeping and I thought I could use a short walk. Don't worry!"
