"I heard you, Gerald. But that is all I can do for you right now." She told him, drinking back her tears.
Gerald knew how stubborn she was. He also understood her reasonings and knew that she would never betray Theodora.
He nodded his head with a straight face.
"Now... I think you should go. I have work to do." She said, turning to get the axe, but Gerald's voice stopped her.
"Bertha, I want your help."
She paused before looking up at him. "Help?"
"Yes. Only you can talk to Isabella. She will believe you, I am sure!"
Gerald sounded desperate. But Bertha smelled something fishy.
"What I need to talk to her?" She asked suspiciously.
Guessing her pointer right, he said dryly. "Don't worry, I haven't committed a murder."
"I didn't say you have!" She argued boldly.
Gerald shook his head before he asked, "So will you help me?"
