Prologue

I've always loved the cosmos. The infinite expanse of darkness filled with wonders. Starts so much more different than the Sun we all know. Places so beautiful that I had the desire to see them with my own eyes. The amazing black holes and their hypothetical counterpart, the white holes. Such a vast expanse we can't correctly imagine its size.

Since I knew about the wonders of space, I've had the same regret. The only regret I ever had in life.

'It's a shame I won't be alive long enough to see everything that humanity will discover about our universe.'

When I was in high school, I planned to study Physics in university and later take a master's degree in Astrophysics. Unfortunately, my dreams were shattered by the incoming economical crisis and the astronomically low amount of job offers for physicists in my country.

I did not give up however, I graduated in another area that still opened paths for my future as an astrophysicist. I still remember the very first class I had. "Topics on Astronomy and Cosmology", the professor was very chill, dressing modestly and struggling to connect his laptop to the projector. Yet, in a two-hour class I had to stop myself from crying multiple times.

It wasn't a particularly amazing class when I later thought about it, it was basically just an introduction to what we were going to learn along the semester.

It was a shame I couldn't really enjoy much of those classes since not long after that I died.

But now, that I can see the cosmos with my very own eyes, I can confidently say that it is so much better than I initially thought.
